Giving instructions 下命令
We use ‘please’ to make an instruction more polite . 我们用“请”使命令比较礼貌。
When we give an instruction, we can leave out the subject. 当我们下命令时,我们省略主语。如:
Be quite.安静
Don’t make any noise.不要制造噪音。
Please take the dog for a walk.请蹓一下狗。
Using ‘should’, ‘ought to’, and ‘must’ .
We use ‘should’ ‘should not’ to give advice and to tell people what is the best or right thing to do; ‘ought to’ and ‘ought not to’ have similar meanings to ‘should’ ‘should not’。我们用 “should”和 “should not” 向别人提出建议,告诉别人最好做哪些事或做哪些事是正确的; “ought to”和 “ought not to”与 “should”和 “should not”有类似的含义。
You should/ought to play with your pet for some time every day.

名词单数与复数同形。如:fish deer(鹿) sheep

2. 情态动词 should , ought to , must
should “应该” 否定式为should not/shouldn’t, 疑问句形式是将 should移至主语之前。如:

ought to “应该” 意思与should 相近,ought to 着重客观的情况,语气比should强, 带有责备或督促的意思,否定式为ought not to, 疑问句形式是将ought 移至主语之前;should侧重自己主观的看法,表示义务、责任。如:
We ought to go and see Kate sometime next week.
Ought we to answer the question now?
You ought not to smoke so much.
Must“必须”否定式为mustn’t,表示禁止,疑问句形式是将must移至主语之前,其否定回答常用needn’t或don’t have to,表示“不必”,“无须”。must还可以表示非常肯定的猜测,只用于肯定句中。如:
I must study hard and catch up with my classmates.
---Must we finish the work at once?
---No, you needn’t.
You must be very tired.
3. 祈使句 表示命令、请求或指示的句子叫祈使句, 谓语动词用原形,省略主语you。祈使句的 否定结构是在肯定结构前加don’t。如:
Sit on the chair, please.
Don’t read in the sun, Tom.
Be quiet! Mum is sleeping.
Don’t be late again next time.
Let’s not go fishing.
Do come early tomorrow. (加助动词do 用来加强语气。)
4. chase =run after v. n. 追赶,追逐
Look, the cat is chasing the mouse.
Chase the chickens out of the garden.
After a long chase, they caught the robbers.
5. catch v.抓住,赶上,染上(疾病)
The early bird catches the worm.
We wanted to catch the early train, but failed.

2、学情分析:
本课以台湾9.21大地震为背景,男孩Timmy用第一人称叙述了在地震中他被困瓦砾堆下的故事,给人以亲身经历的感觉。这种感觉很容易使学生倾心地去听、去读、去说,或为故事中人物的命运和事件的发展深刻感受遭遇地震的恐惧不安和死里逃生。
这篇课文语境真实,有利于课堂交际活动的真实开展。在教学中我设计了Do you know how to protect yourself if there is an earthquake here? 等问题,由课内延伸到课外,增大学生的知识量,拓展了学生的思维,从而达到综合运用语言进行交际的目的。

The Wenchuan earthquake

八、教学反思
本课是一篇阅读课,是以台湾9.21大地震为背景,以幸存男孩Timmy的切身经历为主线。在教学设计上主要采用情境教学法和任务型教学法。各教学环节紧紧围绕知识目标、能力目标和情感态度目标进行展开,力求突出重点和突破难点。
本课阅读任务分为三个阶段,即任务前、任务中和任务后。任务前以情景导入来激发学生的地震图式,引入四会内容,解决学生的语言障碍;任务中通过听读练习、一览表、视频等问题设置,并借助问答、讨论、小组活动探究、复述等形式进行教学活动开展,有利于学生先整体,后细节,再整体获取文章信息和转化文章信息的能力,这也是对学生的阅读技能和阅读方法的培养,同时对单词、短语和句子起到巩固和提高的作用。任务后借助海地大地震和汶川大地震的真实视频,让学生通过视、听来完成填空,达到对过去进行时的理解和应用,即把语法放到真实的语言环境中加以学习和巩固,从而有效突破教学难点;使用调查统计表,通过开展小组采访活动,培养了学生勇敢、互帮互助的团队精神,同时也激发了学生珍爱生命及自我保护意识,使学生的情感目标再次得到升华。
本节课教学活动的设计,无论是问题设计的层次性、艺术性和真实性,还是视频资源的合理使用、学生目标的达成情况和阅读技能的培养等方面都取得了很好的效果。但美中不足的是本课话题稍微有些沉重,班级中有95%的学生对地震感到害怕,对学生的心理健康或多或少会产生一些影响,这就需要我在以后类似话题的教学中要借助我校心理咨询教师对学生的心理多做一些必要的心理辅导。
