CEOs are thirsty for insight from the front lines. And yet those of us on those front lines C whether we are customers or employees C are often hesitant to reach out to senior leaders who are only an email away.

I saw this the other day in a friend who works for Salesforce. My friend is a mid-level manager, and he’s very observant and bright. He has a ton of insight and perspective about Salesforce and Marc Benioff, the founder and CEO of Salesforce, would be better off knowing. And, while I don’t know Benioff, I’ll bet with confidence that he craves this information, because he could use it to make better decisions. That’s what I found by working with Bill George C the former CEO of Medtronic and now a professor at Harvard Business School C on True North. In interview after interview, we found that CEOs wanted a better picture of what their employees and customers wanted. CEOs repeatedly told us how unexpectedly isolating they found the job. But when I asked my friend whether he would email Benioff, he demurred, not wanting to ruffle any feathers in the hierarchy.

Of course, not every cold email is so wildly successful. I’ve emailed Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Page, and yes, Marc Benioff, and didn’t hear back. I guessed at their email addresses, so maybe I got them wrong. Or maybe they just had nothing to say in reply. Oh well. No skin off my back. It was worth the try.I learned about the benefits (and associated failures) of cold emailing when I worked as an Associate for Summit Partners, the venture capital firm. Each day we typically cold called or cold emailed dozens of CEOs, since Summit got access to growth equity deals by contacting people directly. I learned a few rules of thumb that I still use today:

篇7:发英文邮件的格式

英文电子邮件的基本要素是主题、称谓、正文、结尾用语及署名。

电子邮件最重要的部分是主题,假设我们都是很忙的人,在打开邮箱阅读邮件时,第一眼看到的就是邮件的主题。所以,主题应当做到言简意赅并突出邮件重要性。英文邮件的主题需要注意不超过35个字母,将位于句首的单词和专有名词首字母大写。比如:Some questions about C++.在比较正式的格式中,需要把每个单词的首字母大写(介词、冠词除外)。

称谓如果是第一次给对方写信,那么称谓最好用“Dear+全名”,这样会让人感觉比较正式。如果对方以非正式口吻来信,我们也可以类似非正式地回复。比如:“Hello/Hi Lillian”。在实际通信中可能遇到不知道对方姓名,可以用“Dear+对方头衔”,如“Dear President”,或者“Dear+Sir/Madam”形式。英国人习惯在称呼后加“,”,美国人习惯在称谓后加“:”,有时也可以不加任何标点,是具体情况而定。

在书写正文时,把最重要的事情写在正文最前面或者邮件内容较长时写在第一段。为了让收件人阅读邮件比较舒服,我们需要注意邮件正文结构的美感,邮件段落最好控制在两三段之内。如果一封电子邮件涉及多个信息点,我们可以采用分条目的方法,如符号、小标题、编号来使得邮件想要表达的内容层次清晰。邮件内容应注意单词的拼写、大小写、标点、语法等。所谓以小见大。

结尾语在正文之后添加。注意一般结尾语中只有第一个单词首字母大写而剩余单词都小写,此处与称呼不同。

一、主题

主题(Subject)框的内容应简明地概括信的内容,短的可以是一个单词,如greetings;长的可以是一个名词性短语,也可以是完整句,但长度一般不超过35个字母。

主题框的内容切忌含糊不清。

NO:像News about the meeting 这样的表达,

YES:应改为Tomorrow's meeting canceled。

一般来说,只要将位于句首的单词和专有名词的首字母大写即可。另外一种较为正规的格式可将除了少于5个字母的介词、连接词或冠词之外的每一个单词的首字母大写。

二、称呼

1、E-mail一般使用非正式的文体,因此正文(Body)前的称呼(Salutation)通常无须使用诸如Dear Mr. John之类的表达。在同辈的亲朋好友或同事间可以直呼其名,但对长辈或上级最好使用头衔加上姓。YES:Tommy,或者Mr. Smith。

2、称呼和正文之间,段落之间,正文和信尾客套话之间一般空一行,开头无须空格。如: Jimmy,

4、多过一个男人,用Messrs,就是Misters的意思,不过不要跟名字,跟姓就行啦.

那么I和you呢?好烦好烦.一般来说,收信人的利益比较重要,名义上都要这样想.给人尊重的语气就一般不会错了. 多用you有时会有隔阂的感觉.

总之,语气和宾词的运用得当能决定你的礼貌程度.

B、信尾客套话(Complimentary close)通常也很简明。常常只须一个词,如:'Thanks','Best','Cheers',不需要用一般信函中的'Sincerely yours'或'Best regards'。

C、签名:不要把Mr., Ms., Mrs., Dr.之类一起签,人家会笑你的... 签名也看信件的语气.给朋友或公司客户,签Bill也可以,给陌生人就最好用Gates或者Bill Gates啦.

发简历技巧:邮件主题很重要!

邮件主题要写应聘XXX公司XXX职位。不要再多写其他的。

为什么呢?试想你要是人事部的人,发过来的邮件,只要是写着应聘市场部的,就转发给市场部,应聘销售部的当然就转发给销售部了,很多人写应聘信,得全看完才知道要应聘哪个部门,面对这么多的简历,除非人事部有充足的时间再筛选,否则一定石沉大海。

有个小窍门:千万别写应届毕业生应聘XXX公司XXX职位,因为很多公司不 招聘 应届毕业生,你主题写得这么鲜明,可能直接就给PASS掉了,至少给自己一个让别人打开你简历的机会,这不算不诚实,

用邮件发简历的技巧

1、某些计算机的屏幕只能阅读每行30个汉字的文章,所以,应把你的简历行宽设为30个汉字(只供参考);

2、如果你的简历中使用了项目符号(bullet),将其替换为“*”或者“-”;

3、需要空白处,不要用Tab键,而用空格键。使用回车分隔不同的工作职位和段落;

4、将文件存为ASCII纯文本格式,目前几乎所有的字处理软件都可以支持此种格式;

5、将修改过的简历以不同的文件名存盘,避免覆盖原始文件;

6、发送时,打开ASCII文本,拷贝全部内容,然后粘贴到EMAIL中。完成后,可以发送一份回自己的信箱,查看效果如何;

通过EMAIL发送的简历不如打印装订的简历一样有吸引力,但在网络的环境下它非常富有效率。而且无论是通过EAMIL发送还是输入在线数据库,这样的电子版简历也有利于树立你熟悉计算机及网络技术的专业形象。

邮件发邀请函技巧有什么

【适用情况】最近协助组织学术会议,需要群发邀请函,既有寄出的信件,也有电子邮件。因为参会人员较多(近百位),这时候挨个填写邀请函,地址和发邮件(每个邮件地址附一个针对收件人的邀请函),如果人工复制黏贴,需要建立100多个文档,100多个邮件,打印100多分邀请函和报到函,于是这时候就该用word的【邮件合并功能】,自动生成“格式相同但是内容稍微有些差别的文档和邮件”。

【步骤】

1. 建立联系人excel列表,把每个“元素”:都拆细,例如姓名(若需要单独用到姓,例如“陈先生”,则还要把姓和名各自放一列),单位,职务,称呼,邮箱地址(一格只放一个),地址,邮编等。这是一切数据的来源,可用来生成任何格式的文档。

2. 建立邀请信word文档,和之前的excel放在同一个文件夹里。调整好格式等。如需打印信封,也一样制作一个word文档。

3. 邮件合并功能。(1)选择形式,是信函,还是电子邮件。(2)选择收件人,“使用现有的表”,选择刚才做好的`excel(word似乎可以选择任意文件夹的excel表,的好像不行)。(3)编辑收件人列表,选择要插入的联系人,若是全部都要使用,就略过这一步。

(4)插入域。在需要插入“内容”,例如姓名的地方点击“插入合并域”,选择插入“姓名”,这时在word文档出现<<姓名>>类似的标志。(5)预览结果。点击预览结果后,可以看到<>被替换成excel里的第一个姓名,在预览结果的菜单栏那里有箭头,可以前后地查看结果。(6)完成合并。选择发送批量电子邮件,或者批量打印。甚至可以保存成一个一个独立的文档。

4. 高级功能。如果安装了acrobat(不是reader),就有一个合并到pdf的按钮。对于发送不可编辑的文档,最好是存成pdf,防止浏览的时候出错或者对方打不开高版本的word。例如这次我要发给许多港澳人士,邀请函转成繁体字,但是有时word会在对方电脑上显示出错,所以我都用pdf批量发送电子邮件。

1. excel做数据库——2. word做模版——3.数据用“邮件合并”插入word. ——4. 批量生成所需的文件。
