Lesson 53

Properties: Recorder, Overhead Projector, Pictures

Teaching Objectives:

1. Learn some dialogues.

2. Learn some useful expressions.

Language Focus:

be excited, be worn out, I don’t think I’ll take it.

Teaching Procedures:

I. Show the teaching aims

II. Revision

Check the homework and revise the names of articles of clothing by showing the students pictures or the real thing. Ask:

What’s this? What colour is it? What’s it made of?

III. Leading in

Get the students to look at the pictures, they are all advertisement of the shoes. There are all kinds of clothing. And say: Today I want to buy a new pair of shoes. Do you know why? Because my shoes are old enough, they are worn out, I can’t wear them to school or any other place. Show an old pair of shoes to the class to help the students to understand the dialogue.

IV. Presentation

Say: Now I want to buy some new shoes. I’ll go to the shop. What ideas would you like to give me? Let the students give some good advice. (quality, color, price, style, etc)

V. Practice

Get the students to listen to the tape to get the general idea of the dialogue. (Show Lesson53text.exe)

Then play the cassette for the second time and let the students follow the dialogue. Go through the dialogue. Let them really understand it. In the sentence “You’d better try them on.”

Ask the students to read the dialogue after the tape. Get them to practise it in pairs without opening the books. Ask some pairs to act it out in class. Then go through the useful expressions in the box at the bottom of the page. Note the position of the negative in “I don’t think I’ll take it.” Finally, make up new dialogues for buying dark blue suits or light green dresses.

VI. Workbook

Do Exercise 1 in class. Practise dialogues.

Do Exercise 3 orally. And write down the answers.

VII. Consolidation

Ask the students to write down one dialogue on a piece of paper, then share with each other.

VIII. Homework

Revise the contents of the lesson.

Make up one dialogue about shopping.

教学内容:Lesson 60 in Unit 15 Book III

教材分析:

本单元话题为Cody saves the baby。主要功能项目为学习动词不定式的用法。本课是一篇阅读课文,介绍了一个美国普通家庭发生地震的故事。全篇课文以一般过去时进行介绍,是学生复习一般过去时的好机会。同时引入了动词不定式做主语、表语、状语及定语的用法。整篇课文约240个词,生词不算多,没有很多新的语法难点。教完课文后可让学生复述课文以巩固所学内容。并且就课后出现的课文填空,可用课文的录音加以练习,以锻炼听的内容。

学情分析:

在教学课文之前,有必要回忆一下有关包头地震的内容。然后提问What happened to you at that time?以激发学生的学习兴趣。动词不定式的用法可以通过课堂操练加以掌握。

教学目标:

1、认知目标:掌握as if、storm、at sea、hang、storey、grab、crash等词汇,复习一般过去时。

2、能力目标:培养学生 听的技能、阅读能力、口语表达能力、书面表达能力及综合理解能力。

3、情意目标:告诉学生预防地震的有效方法及人类与动物和平相处的重要性。进而告诉学生保护环境的重要性。

教学重点:动词不定式的用法及现在分词做状语的用法

教学难点:动词不定式的用法

教学方法:阅读法、情景教学法、讨论法等

教学用具:录音机、投影仪等。

教学过程:

Step 1. Duty work.

Everyday speech +discussion

(每日演讲锻炼学生在大众场合的表达能力,配合适当的问题,吸引下边学生的注意,同时也练习了听力。)

Step 2. Presentation

Revise the earthquake that happened in Baotou in .Let the students chat first (以聊天的形式缓解听课状态下的紧张氛围,打开学生的思路,练习说的能力) and ask some students to tell the others what happened to them at that time, and then give them a short passage that happened to me in the earthquake using the new words and expressions. (通过我的故事,引入生词、词组,给学生以初步印象,导入课文)

Step 3. Presentation.

Show flashcard about the text, and let the students guess what happened. (an earthquake, the dog saved the baby)---就图片展开联想,导入新课。

Then turn to Page 74 and look at the text.

Step 4. Read and explain.

Ask the students to read the text paragraph by paragraph (讲解前让学生逐段阅读课文,以检查其预习效果及阅读能力)and then I explain the important points paragraph by paragraph. (用提问的方式引出课文内容,让大部分学生都张嘴说出课文的大致内容,练习一遍),and then list the key words and expressions on the blackboard, and ask the students to retell the text after me first.(在课文讲解的过程中,一边回答一边列出各段的关键词、句,为后边的复述打下基础)

Step 5. Drills.

Ask some students to retell the text according to the words and expressions listed on the blackboard. 复述是学生对课文内容的又一次巩固,同时又能在课文内容的引导下,使用一些自己的语言,锻炼其表达能力。

Step 6. Practice.

Exercise 2 on Page 178. Show a flashcard about it. Judge whether right or wrong the statements are according to the story, and then correct the wrong ones.

Step 7. Practice.

Exercise 3 on Page 179. Show a flashcard about it.

Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks. (录音机使用的另一种方法)

Ask a student to come to the front to fill in the blanks and then check the answers. (又一次巩固了所学的内容)

Step 7. Write.

Exercise 6 on Page 180. Show it on the flashcard.

Give the students five minutes to write a short passage about the pictures. (with music) And then ask some of them to read their passage. (即兴作文在锻炼学生写作及表达能力的同时,更能激发学生的创造能力。学生经常在自己的造句和写作中有着异乎寻常的表现,也是学生很爱做的练习之一)

Step 8. Word game.

There are some verbs that come from the nouns of some animals. Give them the nouns and let the students guess the meaning of the verbs.

(snake n.蛇---v.蜿蜒而行, snail n.蜗牛---v.缓慢爬行 dog n.狗---v.跟踪,fox n.狐狸---v.欺骗,peacock n.孔雀---v.炫耀,pig n.猪---v.过着猪一样的生活,wolf n.狼---v.狼吞虎咽 ….)

“What a beautiful day! The sky is blue and the clouds are white.” Said my mother. “Yes. Let’s go to Xia Jiu Road.” Said my father. I was really happy and I jumped very high.

Xia Jiu Road is more famous than the other shopping centers, because everyone says “Xia Jiu Road is the shopping world.” I saw a clothes shop over there, and I said to my parents, “Mum, Dad, let’s go in!” Mum and Dad looked me and said, “You are really a child.” I was really perky(神气的) and said “OK. Let’s just go in !” I bought a lot of beautiful clothes. My parents were unhappy. I pat on their shoulders and said, “Don’t be angry, because everyone says ‘Fine clothes make the man’, isn’t it?” My parents said together, “No, it isn’t. But we all love you. ” We laughed together and my parents were happy again.

Today I was very happy, because I bought a lot of clothes and had a good time. I don’t think “You can’t eat the cake and have it”is right.

with numerous technological advances, various kinds of media have been well developed. as a result, an increasing number of people are fond of purchasing goods with the help of media, such as newspapers, radio stations, tv stations and the internet.

as we know, every coin has two sides and shopping via media is no exception. on the one hand, it saves much time, money and effort to purchase goods through media since you do not have to go to the shops in person. besides, you can choose what you want from an enormous variety of goods on display. on the other hand, you may be cheated sometimes by the false information and suffer a considerable loss.

as far as i am concerned, shopping via media brings great benefit to our life and our economy on the whole. at the same time, we need strengthened supervision over the information released via media. in this way, we can reap more benefits from shopping via media and reduce the possible harm to a minimum.
