When I was doing internship at the renowned _ Cosmetics Co. Ltd， I was deeply impressed by the motto from _， the founder of the company-“Believe in Miracle and Miracle will Indeed Happen.” At one point during my undergraduate education I was very frustrated because I found that， due to the lack of effective methodology of numerical analysis， the teaching and the research of economics in China lags far behind the international standard as represented by the developed countries of the West. As a result， even though I am one of the top students from the _ University of Finance and Economics， I find it difficult for me to really enter the true realm of economics study. With China's reform toward the market economy and its accession into the WTO， statistics is becoming increasingly important in China's economic life. The fact that the subject I am interested in will enjoy a broad prospect of application in China makes me very excited and confident concerning my future study and career. In my proposed program， I will first try to consolidate my foundation in statistics and then narrow down my interests to focus on Time Series Analysis and Statistic Inference.

I believe that to make rational inferences is one of the major functions of statistics. In many cases， pure statistical models or time series models can make more precise inferences and predictions than theoretical models of economics. The dilemma faced by modern economics in making predictions is one of the important reasons for me to choose statistics over economics as the area of my concentration. As an important aspect of statistical study and research， I will try to master one or two advanced statistical software such as Gauss and TSP. In addition， if possible， I wish to be a member of the research group of my future advisor under whose direction I can work on a full-length research project. It is equally desirable for me to do extensive internship at a specific government organization or a local enterprise so that I can apply my knowledge of statistics and test its efficacy.

Apart from the sound undergraduate education that I have received， together with my special achievements in mathematics and English， my creativity， perseverance， and my good logical thinking are three major factors of my implicit confidence in my future performance， just as they have contributed to my distinguished performance in the past over most of my peers. Having a flair for Economics and accounting I have decided that I want a degree in Accounting and Finance or Management. The many brilliant representatives of the management community around the world have strengthened that resolve.

When I worked in my school as a tutor of English as a Second Language for students from a community school in Muscat, I realized the importance of a strong leader who could organize, command respect, and be able to work well with others. These ideas were further enforced by my month long internship at Novartis Pharmaceutical (Accounts and Finance Department and Human Resources Department).

I attended the Harvard Model Congress in Paris and won the Award of Distinction. One skill in particular that contributed to this award was my confident public speaking.

The last 4 months have been crucial in my learning of real world business and economics. For my IB Extended Essay, titled “To What Extent Does Subway in Oman Operate as an Oligopoly”, I set out to prove the oligpolistic structure of the fast food market in Oman. In this effort, I have come across many real life complexities in pricing behaviour, profit making and other aspects of the Theory of the Firm. While attempting to explain these alternate theories of firms I have developed a keen interest in analyzing and understanding how the world of business works.

After an undergraduate degree in accounting and finance or management I plan to go onto post graduate studies and work on an MBA. A strong performance in a BA will allow me to move onto an MBA and only then shall I be satisfied.

For the last four years I have been part of our schools volleyball team ICE. We have retained our ISAC (Inter Schools Activities Conference, Middle East) title for four years. Playing in the power hitters (spiker) position requires immense physical fitness and to accomplish that I regularly go to the gym for fitness training. I am also part of my school track and field team. Being the fastest sprinter in the school since 11th grade the 100m, 200m and 400m races are my specialty even though I still pursue long distance running. In my spare time I explore and master the computer as I am conversant with a Visual Basic Programming course. It is imperative for me to have the latest hardware and software and I make it a point to install everything myself. I also learn Urdu as it is my native tongue and a link to my culture, to maintain that is crucial.

Living in a diverse international community of over 52 nationalities has allowed to me recognize and appreciate different cultures. 2.多用礼貌用语

一、听说英国环境很好?

答：看情况!

出国留学行李准备清单

1.材料准备

护照、毕业证、学位证、成绩单、公证双认证、2寸证件照(20张)

本科入学时需要向学校递交高中毕业证、会考成绩单及其公证双认证;

研究生入学时需要向学校递交本科毕业证、学士学位证、大学4年成绩单及其公证双认证。

2.准备现金

My lab experience deepened my understanding of parallel processing. In my third year, I worked on a GIFT project with Dr. Komatsu, chief researcher of IBM Tokyo Research Laboratory and Dr. Koseki, one of Dr. Komatsu's colleagues. The project was to introduce the architecture supports that can allow compilers to derive more parallelism from programs. These architecture supports include three designs, a conditional execution mechanism to execute instructions without normal conditional jump instructions, speculative execution mechanism, and a dynamic memory disambiguation mechanism to execute memory access instructions simultaneously.

As undergraduate students seldom get to be involved in actual research, I took full advantage of the opportunity of working in the lab. I particularly enjoyed the seminars held twice a week as part of the lab work. At these seminars, I engaged in in-depth discussions with Master's students under Dr. Komatsu's seasoned guidance. The lab experience is adding weight and insights to my graduation paper An Improvement of Software pipelining using Loop Transformations. In this paper, I will introduce a translation algorithm using loop interchange and loop skewing. This algorithm can minimize the initiation interval of loop nest to improve the performance of software pipelining.

Through my lab experience and other research, I have developed a long-term professional objective: the advancement of the parallel processing technology. While I have strong faith in this technology, I also know its limitations as it is today. Some sequential algorithms can't be easily translated into fast parallel algorithms and most compilers can only distribute works on one platform. Another unsettled problem is that programming parallel computers is now still a manual work. But even the modern language (like Java, C++) can do some automatic translation work. If a compiler can be developed to translate and distribute work into different platforms, personal computers will be able to work like mainframe computers at a fraction of the mainframes' costs. This will make it possible to connect all the computers in the world and speed up all the processes.

To help take the parallel processing technology beyond what is capable of today, I have to undertake more advanced studies. This, I believe, can only be accomplished in a quality graduate program like yours. I plan to pursue a master's degree with a concentration on paralleling and distributing compilers, operating systems or computer networks, a combination thereof.
