Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, my name is Zhang Botao, I am from Shaanxi University of Science & Technology.

When I stand here to deliver my speech, I’m a little worried about my cell phone and also yours. I’m afraid that one of them may suddenly ring loudly so that my fascinating speech will probably be interrupted by SIMENS, NOKIA, MOTOROLA or PANDA. And this is just one possible result caused by economic globalization. No matter if you admit it or not, we are now all in a global village and economic globalization is here to stay.

Nowadays, economic globalization is being referred to more and more. I don’t know who first invented the word, but undoubtedly, it is steadily and inexorably becoming more and more common and important. It covers our world so quickly, just like influenza. As Charles Darwin noted: Survival of the fittest. In order to adapt to this great and global reform, I think, there must be something important and urgent we need to do, for every nation, every corporation, and even to every person.

First, take me for an example. Just ten years ago, I did not know what a computer was, let alone what it can do. But since , I cannot live without my computer, just like I can’t live without my cell phone! Of course, these great changes are derived from economic globalization, and the rapid development of China. For every Chinese man like me, these rapid changes mean great challenge: Because of economic globalization, many new technologies rushed into China without translation; Because of economic globalization, many unknown software appeared on our desks; And, because of the economic globalization, we must hasten our rhythm of living, working and even resting. The speed of the development of China has been tremendously accelerated, so if we don’t want to be elapsed from this great tidal wave of development, we must understand the meaning of this phrase very clearly: One is never too old to learn.

Second, to an enterprise in China, it also means a problem concerning survival. Our entrance to WTO has paved the way for many super universal corporation

s to enter the economic market of China. This means the competition in our domestic market will be much more brutal than ever before. If our state enterprises and other companies don’t adjust to this global reform and get used to the more and more cruel competition, surely they will be elapsed in this blood-red economic battle. If you want your company to stand up at last, I think the most important thing for you to do is that, “Firm your confidence and welcome the great coming challenge.”

Third, as globalization is gradually knitting separate national economies into a single one, if one nation would like to stand up and develop during these global changes, it must effectively carry out some economical and political reforms. For example, reducing the tax to attract more international organizations to invest in our country, or do some political reforms, to cater for some important international organizations. Maintaining an average 8% economic increase rate per year needs not only effective and promising economic policy, but also the prudent leadership.

Economic globalization brings us not only a great challenge, but also a great chance to develop. It brings us a great potential of international corporations and makes them take roots and develop in China. And this will create new job opportunities for our huge labor market. If we can strengthen ourselves and take the chance, I promise, China’s development will be hastened greatly, and China will become the leader of economic globalization of the world!

我的竞聘演讲分两部分，首先是个人情况的一个简单介绍。八个：教师世家，作嫁十年。我的家庭三代都有人执教鞭站讲台，有大学老师有中学老师，从小生活在校园内，所见所闻最多的就是教育。现在有一种很时髦的教育理论叫浸入式教育，在这样的氛围里浸染30余年，我对教育的感情不言而喻。今年第二期文学我策划组编了一个教育救国的专题，并撰写了两篇文章：国难始闻发聩声、铎声阵阵。看看这两篇应该能体会到我对教育的热爱并不是在此时此地的巧言令色。我父亲在40多年的从教经历中，做过5年小学校长、XX年中学校长、大学校长，分管过行政、分管过教学，也主持过全局工作。耳濡目染，我对教育管理的各个环节也都不太陌生。另外，我自己在进院之前，职称就是教师系列，进院之后，在业余时间也曾应邀在人民大学、对外经贸大学、北京演艺专修学院给本科生和硕士生兼职授课，前年和去年还拿过两个优秀教师奖。这次竞聘的研究生院是我院艺术研究、艺术教育、艺术创作三足鼎立战略格局中的一足，以教育为主要内容。综合上述情况，可以总结出我的一个优势：对教育的熟悉和感情。

所谓作嫁十年是就我的工作经历而言。我1995年参加工作，除中间读书的几年，有十年的时间是在为他人作嫁衣裳。在电视台的七年，做过记者、做过编导，也做过一个频道的节目总监；采访过中央的高层，也下过地下200米深的矿井。专题片的导演和影视剧的导演不同，在10分钟的成片制作完成后，不能享受这是某某某作品的那种快乐，片尾的名一闪而过。一点都不风光。这段经历还有一个副作用，就是主业的不突出，几乎每天都在和各种各样的人打交道，看似什么都知道，但都只是略懂。帮助则有两点，一是眼界和思路的开阔。三人行即有我师，密集的采访过程实际也是一个转益多师的过程；二是决断力的锻炼，现场采访经常会有突发情况，导演是一个团队的领导者，必须迅速对形势作出分析和正确的决断，否则就会导致采访的失败。XX年到我院文学杂志社工作之后，工作环境虽然相对封闭了些，但前期的这些锻炼还是显现了效果，这几年的杂志中，我组约的稿件范围很宽，数量也已超过200篇，近200万。如果把组约成功已经刊发的稿件称为有效稿件，与这期间杂志所刊发的全部稿件做一个比，结果可以称为组稿效率，这个指标我想我在全院的编辑当中应该是当之无愧的第一。文学稳定的工作环境也让我可以专注地做一些研究，XX年我去湖北参加中外文学学会年会，提交的论文得到众多专家好评，现场讨论一结束就收到了湖南大学、扬州师院等校的讲学邀请。当时大家的评价是：举重若轻地解决了理论界几个久悬未决的问题，完全可以作为从业者的入门必读教材。这段为人作嫁的经历，可以总结出我的第二个优势：阅历丰富。今年国庆，我应邀去广东汕尾采访，当地有一个景点叫白水寨瀑布，参观时偶有所感，口占了这么四句：白练悬碧嶂，细瀑裂巨岩。深潭低回后，九曲唱清泉。我的感悟是年轻人的冲劲固然威力巨大，但经过一些落差，深潭的低回，这细细的水流不但规模增加了许多，而且增加了九曲不弯的坚韧、乐观和智慧。再遇到低洼处也不会哀怨冲动，善为渊也；塞必止，决必流，善守信也；遇农夫则灌溉良田，遇浣妇则洗涤污秽，善用能也；浩浩汤汤，不舍昼夜，善待时也。阅历这个词听起来有点空洞，但如果真能把它当作消化吸收，为己所用，会变成一个巨大的推动力。

我演讲的第二部分是当选后的工作计划。分五部分：萧规曹随、望闻问切、它山之石、固本培元、长风破浪。其中前三部分可以在短时间内完成，第四部分是工作的重点，需要做持久战的准备。

萧规曹随的典故大家都很熟悉，之所以把这点列为工作计划的第一部有两个方面的考虑。一是中国的高等教育60年来分久必合合久必分，屡次改革的结果是钱学森老临终前发出悲怆的一问：中国的大学为什么培养不出人才来！二是不管即将上任的是研究生院第几任教务处长，面临的都是一段辉煌的历史：我院是国务院首批公布的博士、硕士学位授予单位，几十年来，在一批大师级的著名学者和艺术家的.辛勤耕耘下，形成了自己独特厚重的学术传统，研究生院自1978年成立以来，已培养博士、硕士学位研究生及各类研修生3000多人，其中许多人已成长为著名学者和学科带头人。既然面前是一座仰止的高山，那首先还是老老实实地拾级而上，如果谁一上来就雄心勃勃地想要改造它，那一定是愚公。

第二步是望闻问切，依然是学习，只是要在学习中加以分析。这并不是先入为主地认为目前的研究生院需要诊治，只是借鉴中医临症的这四种方法。经过第一步的工作，此时应该已对教务处的基本情况有所了解。学习和分析都应该有所侧重。教务工作的核心是研究生培养，两个中心词是服务和沟通。望闻问切这四种方法就是要围绕这两个中心词来用。望是用眼睛看；闻是用耳朵听；问是向当事人询问，向专家请教；切是依据研究生的教育规律对现状进行分析判断。在准备竞聘的这段时间我在这几方面简单做了点功课，简单举两个例子：第一，研究生院现在的教学方面组织架构是，日常行政由培养办来管理，而教学实践却是六个系的秘书各自为战，这种状况下，培养计划的落实势必大打折扣；第二，目前研究生院的学术委员会的会议多由各系秘书临时组织召开，这一点也值得商榷，如果没有一个相对稳定的常设机构，课程设置、导师评聘之类的重要决定的权威性得不到保证，培养方案的修订等重要的调整也很难做到及时有效。

第三步是它山之石。就是走出门去搞调研，借鉴其它学校的好的做法，了解目前的教育形势，所谓睁开眼睛开世界，打开门来办教育。这样的工作在准备竞聘这段时间我也做了点功课，感觉收获不小。走访了北京大学，虽然没有见到主管研究生教务工作的任重先生，但和中文系分管教务的副主任漆永祥教授做过数次详谈，先后几次拜访了人民大学研究生院教务处长宋冬霞老师，还通过各种渠道学习了十几所高校的研究生培养方案。一些点滴的启发我简单举4个例子，第一，现在的课程梯次是公共课、基础课、专业课，其中六个系具有共性的基础课如何有效打通？关系较近的戏专业课能否互修？华中科技大学的方案给我印象很深，一级学科课程交叉现在是一个很热的话题，他们在培养方案中就此作了很具操作性的说明。第二，包括北大在内的一些学校有一个尝试，博士生导师的评聘打破职称的限制，只要在某一领域有精深研究，就可以进入遴选的视野，这一新生事物值得关注。第三，一些专题性的知识以课程形式出现有点浪费，一旦内容过时或是老师兴趣点转移，就变成了行内说的死课，但以各级讲座的形式就很有效，对有能力开设这样讲座的中青年学者，是否可以引进比如这次竞聘的思路进行选择？第四，刚才我说过，教务处工作的中心词是服务和沟通。有的学校将服务和沟通对象的反馈作为相应工作调整的一个依据，据我了解，这样的评估我院也有，但似乎流于形式，如何让这种反馈变得有效也值得借鉴。

第四步固本培元是教务工作的重中之重。对研究生教育来说，所谓的本有两个内容，教学和科研。教学大概可以概括为三大块：培养方案、培养计划和评估方案。三者中培养方案是根本，其重要性相当于宪法之于国家。固本，首先从这里着手。其中的关键所在是课程设置，近年4月艺术学升级为学科门类之后，相应的一级和二级学科都有调整，为了今后相当一段时间里我们能与时俱进，可持续发展，方案应该作适当的修订。这个过程中教务处应该是一个组织者沟通者的角色，尽量广泛地征求专家及师生的意见，把整理好的拟定草案提请学术委员会讨论，审慎认真地完成好这项工作。培养计划是对方案的一个落实，这个环节教务处的工作是在充分理解吃透方案的前提下将其中的具体操作制定出完整的计划，并与招生处、学生处等部门协调配合，使之落实到每一个学生。当培养方案作出修订后，培养计划也要及时作出相应的调整。评估方案包括两方面的内容，一是依据培养计划对学生进行各项评估，比如考试、考查，还有论文或作品的数量与质量，这部分工作需要与学生处、学位办等部门配合协作。另一方面是学生对老师的教学进行评估，对培养计划的可行性进行反馈，这一部分可以作为课程设置、教师评聘一级教务处各项工作调整的依据之一。

科研带动教学是我院研究生院的教育特色。这方面几十年来做得非常好，本不敢狗尾续貂，但机会难得，也有几条不成熟的思考供各位专家批评指正。一是学报的创办。据了解研究生院有过创办学报的尝试，但没有结果。作为国家艺术研究教育的重镇，这一工作似乎很有必要。当然，我院已有多种优秀的学术期刊，可以发挥这一职能，但二者的沟通有待加强，诸如增刊、专栏、特约编辑之类的举措很有可操作性。二是学生参与科研项目。我院承担着许多国家级艺术课题的研究工作，如何让研究生参与其中值得思考，目前一个不争的事实是全国的科研机构都是老板拿课题，学生提供无偿或廉价的劳动，是否可以以导师牵头，在一些课题内分出一些二级课题在学生中进行招标？三是与外界的学术交流，据了解这一工作我院开展得很好，需要百尺竿头更进一步，在学生互换、访学、课程互修，实践类学生成果交流展等再作巩固和拓展。四是硕博论坛的举办。以科研带动教学是我院研究生教育的特色，在艺术学领域，我院有一大批成就卓著，在国际上享有盛誉的学者，有这一后盾，我们的研究生院组织定期的艺术学各学科的硕博论坛会有很好的号召力，学生在参与这样的学术讨论时，有自豪感，也有新鲜知识的吸收，也有直观的比较，效果应该会显著。而且，我院有出版社，有学术期刊，研讨的成果也可以及时整理发表。

此为固本，培元的元，指的是我院的优势学科。艺术学的五个一级学科我们都执牛耳有难度，兵法上有句话叫伤其十指不如断其一指，戏剧影视和美术是我院的优势学科，要保证这种优势。在教学和科研上适当吃点小灶未尝不可。

第五步长风破浪。这四个有个典故，南北朝时的宗悫，小时候就胸怀大志，叔父问他，长大想做什么，他回答说，愿乘长风破万里浪，后来果然成了一代名将。这四个表达的意思是理想也会有很大的能动性。一般这种竞聘演讲到此时该喊口号结束了，这就是我的口号。这几年我在杂志撰写了十几篇编后记，粉丝不少，大家总结出来的四个就是：理想主义。我这样的人无论是在杂志做一个小编辑还是在研究生院作独当一面的诸侯，结果都是多情应笑我早生华发，虽然不会死而后已，但鞠躬尽瘁是必须的。如果哪位老师对文学这几年的历史有所了解，应该更能体会我这句话的辛酸。这里的长风还可以理解为东风，XX年4月艺术学从一级学科升级为学科门类，是为东风一，今年十月召开的十七届六中全会中央提出了文化强国的方略，是为东风二。我院有悠久的历史，优良的传统，丰富的资料，大量的人才，扬帆出海不逊于瓦良格号。对于这艘巨舰，教务处相当于绘制航海图的参谋部，重要性可想而知，这一工作对我很有挑战性，而我，很愿意接受这样的挑战。
