A good teacher is like a shining star to students. Miss Li, my senior high school English teacher, is a shining star in my life.
When I began my senior high school years, I had difficulty in Learning English. I dared not speak English aloud in public because of my poor pronunciation and intonation. I could not get high marks and my grammar was not right at all. Frustrated and afraid of being laughed at, I never put up my hand to answer questions in English class. When Miss Li found out my situation, she encouraged me and lent me a hand. She patiently taught me English grammar, helped me understand how to write a good sentence,and lent me many English books and magazines, which rapidly improved my English. With her help, I became interested in English and eventually got high marks.
Miss Li, like a shining star, shines in my path of success.

A Shining Star
A teacher just likes a shining star to students. Miss Fu, one of my English teacher, is a shining star in my life.
I happened to be in Miss Fu＇s class when I began my high school years. At that time, I dared not speak English aloud in public, for I was shy and my pronunciation and intonation① were poor. Afraid of being laughed at, I never put up my hand to answer the questions Miss Fu raised in class, even if I had some good answers to them. For a time, I even lost interest in practising spoken English. When Miss Fu found out the reason, she encouraged me to speak. First she bought me some English tapes and told me to listen to them carefully, and try to recite them. In class, I was often asked questions and given a lot of chances to practise speaking.
Little by little, I became brave enough to speak, and was not afraid to speak English before others. Miss Fu smiled sweetly when she heard the news that I had been chosen to take part in an important oral English contest②.
Whenever I look at the stars in the sky, I recognize the brightest one ---- the symbol of Miss Fu in my heart. Miss Fu will always be a shining star in my life!

一颗“闪亮”的星
说到爱心小故事，我就不禁想到我们班那个“爱心小天使――明遥”的爱心故事。在一个风和日丽的日子里，明遥出去散步。看着周围的绿色植物时，他心情很好，高兴极了。忽然，明遥看到一个小朋友在破坏植物。他十分不理解，便好奇地问：“小弟弟，你为什么要破坏植物？”
“因为我觉得它们长得难看，又没有生命，破坏一点没关系。”那个小朋友说。
“什么？它们没有生命。不，可能是你理解错了。虽然它们只是一些花草树木，但是还是有生命的呀！”明遥奇怪了！
“不，它们是没有生命的。因为它们不会行动，像我这种可以行走的才是有生命的。”小弟弟坚持他的'原理。
“ 不，是你错了。有生命的物体分两类，一类是动物，一类是植物。虽然植物不能行走，但是它们扎根在土壤里默默地为人类奉献自己，有利于人类。还有一些植物为了人类，还要牺牲自己呢！”明遥一本正经的向他解释。
“哦，那么说我不能破坏它呢！”小弟弟问。
明遥耐心地给他解释：“那是当然了；植物不仅可以减少水土流失，而且可以为人类提供氧气。我们吸的氧气全部是植物提供的哦！”
“植物这么了不起呀！那以后我再也不破坏植物了，不过我还有一个疑问。为什么世界有这么多植物还会有沙漠了？”小弟弟问。
“哦，那是因为那时人类不懂得这么多的科学知识。到处砍树，造成树木缺少。没了树木，造成水土流失，所以就变成沙漠了。”明遥回答。
“谢谢大哥哥给我讲了这么多科学知识，使我受益匪浅，我再也不破坏树木了。”小弟弟欢快地说。
听到小弟弟这番话后，明遥舒心的笑了笑。
明遥！你真是一颗闪亮的星啊！
