Similarly, the notion that poverty represents a denial of empowerment to those afflicted served as a basis for my academic focus in University, specifically in regards to the mixed effects of NAFTA in Northern Mexico and the connections between wealth disparity and the arising of political conflict in the Middle East and Asia.
Viewing topics on a worldwide scale has appealed to me since childhood, being raised in Belgium, Greece and Morocco due to my father’s assignments as a foreign affairs officer and my mother’s background as a Syrian. These experiences have developed within me an understanding of the importance of critical approaches toward cultural differences, especially in how they serve as a basis for certain viewpoints on issues. As a result I naturally became very interested in politics at a young age, which I put to practice in High School and University through extracurricular political leadership activities. Although admittedly in hindsight I might have been over-involved when in University, co-founding two organizations in my first year alone, mentoring and getting elected to several of the highest positions and committees in the student government, my work in the end proved extremely rewarding, earning high esteem from faculty and peers and culminating in awards for outstanding achievement.
Some years from now I would like to see myself working towards the establishment of sustainable governance and development in regions emerging from conflict. As a student majoring in Biochemistry, I began my odyssey five years ago, when our class had a new biology teacher, who was young and energetic. 留学法国怎么办理住宿证明
一、必要性
为了证明学生在抵达了法国之后，有一个可以正常落脚的地方，不会对社会的基础福利带来额外的负担，所以大家在申请签证的时候，就需要出示合格的住宿证明，确认住宿可以直接获取。

一、确认方案。大家一定要做好自己的申请规划，保证自己的能够在后续有序的进行准备，前期的基础就要打好，做足功课，了解自己准备申请的学校和专业，并且计算自己申请和留学需要的费用。
二、学习法语。语言的学习是需要最早开始的，因为直接的入学必须要有B2的水平，为了不浪费自己的时间和金钱，在国内就要留出时间来接受提升训练，并且预约好自己考试的具体时间。

However, at every monthly check-up for three-and-a-half years the office staff had nothing but kind words of encouragement and optimism. Now after the completion of the treatment I had reason to smile. Dr. Wang helped turn me from a shy adolescent who feared smiling into a confident, outgoing young man. His skills not only brought back my smile, but also my sense of confidence in all aspects of my life. Whereas once I feared drawing attention to myself and thus shied away from leadership posts and debates, now I am a completely different person. Hoping to feel as satisfied and gratified as Dr. Wang must have felt in improving not only my smile but my entire way of life, I look forward to improving the oral health of patients on a daily basis and participating in dentistry’ s friendly, team-oriented work environment.
After this preliminary ‘ patient-doctor’ exposure to dentistry, I substantially increased my involvement in the field to determine if dentistry really was for me. My participation with the UBC Pre-Dental Society allowed me to communicate with various professionals in the field. I also investigated opportunities to volunteer in the University Dental Clinic or participate in research work. After speaking to a couple of professors in the UBC Faculty of Dentistry asking them about research opportunities, I found a topic that interested me. Dr. Putnins, of the Division of Periodontics, offered me a position in his lab to conduct a semi-quantitative analysis to determine the levels of endotoxin in dental unit water lines.
After taking many water samples from the University Dental Clinic and quantifying the amounts of endotoxin (lipopolysaccahride) in those samples with an Limulus Abeocyte Lysate test, I prepared to publish dentistry’ s first account of this type of experiment. I conducted the study over a 16-week span (Jan.-Apr.‘ 98), and the research work counted as 3.0 credits towards my undergraduate degree. Because the vast majority of my work was self-directed, I submitted my findings for evaluation by the faculty in a 32-page report with 46 references, and I also defended my methods before a panel of professors. Impressed by the findings and results, Dr. Putnins will use my study as a key component of a journal article he is currently preparing for the Journal of Dental Research (JDR). The school also submitted an abstract of my findings for presentation at the upcoming 77th General Session of the International Association of Dental Research (IDAR) to be held at Vancouver, Canada. I am keenly looking forward to this unique opportunity to have my work appear before distinguished members of the dental research community. My positive research experience definitely helped reinforce my goal of becoming a dentist.
In addition, my employment as a Canada Customs Inspector has helped me improve my level of social awareness and helped me develop qualities I can usefully apply to dentistry. As a Customs Inspector, I had the opportunity to communicate effectively with many different types of people in various situations. 出国留学英国白金汉大学申请条件
一、学术
预科：在读BU的本科课程之前如果还要读预科的话，先要去申请预科的课程，预科的要求是学生要在17岁以上并且有高中的毕业证。
本科：要在BU读本科的课程学生的入学年龄是没有明确的要求的，中国的学生想读BU的本科课程需要在国内的高中毕业，或者是已经在国内学习了本科的课程，另外还要求学生的高中所有学科的GPA要取得总分数的80%及以上。想读BU的本科课程的学生也可以通过A-Level或者是IB的课程来申请，需要学生的A-Level要考到BBC，BU的本科入学要求是至少要拿到两个A-Level的证书。
硕士：要在BU读硕士课程的中国学生需要在国内的本科毕业并且要取得学位，或者是要有一等或者是2：1的学位，对于学生在本科的各科考试分数也是有要求的，至少在本科的各项科目的GPA的分数要超过总分数的80%以上。

一、预科申请

一、法国高中留学的费用
1、法国高中留学学费
注册费：500 欧元-800欧元
高中学费费用：80000至10人民币元。
住宿及餐费用：400欧元-800欧元每个月
学生管理费 ：5000-10000欧元 每年 ，包含：(注册费，教材费，住宿费，保险费，考试费，杂费，监护人管理费等)不包括：假期住宿费，餐费。

2、生活费
住宿费
住宿有两种，一种是住学校宿舍，一种是住公寓。学校宿舍一间房间每月的房租约110～150欧元。一间带卫生间的公寓，在巴黎的租金为400～600欧元左右，外省租金为200～350欧元左右。
伙食费、交通费和零用钱

二、法国高中留学申请条件
(一)外部条件
1、要有直系亲属在法国，并且居住时间长达十年以上或有着法国国籍的直系亲属(要向法国出示直系亲属的住房、工作证明)
2、年龄必须在18岁以下
3、有初中的毕业证书和中考的成绩单
4、出示自己的出生证明
5、参加外国子女教育部门的考试(一共有五个科目)，通过就能直接进入高中，未通过就只能重新再读初中。
(二)自身条件
1、经济条件，法国的消费水平很高，又因人民币与欧元的汇率差距，所以去法国留学的费用相对来说会要高出许多。一般来说要花费地方有：注册费(500欧≈4000RMB)、刚去时的语言学习费(2-3万欧≈16-22万RMB)、高中学费(1-1.5万欧≈8-12万RMB)、生活费(5000欧≈3.9万RMB)。总计下来在法国读高中差不多要4万欧≈120万RMB。

一、长期留学签证

My interest in Mathematics initially developed when I began to consider how a set of well-defined points on a plane could be described by a single equation. It was clear that a curve could be drawn through the set of points but, as my knowledge was limited in Year 10, I had to pursue my own research to learn how to deduce the equation of such a curve. Since then, I have come to appreciate how the many diverse topics in Maths are connected, such as the relationship between number theory and cryptography, as explained in Marcus du Sautoy’s ‘Music of the Primes’. I find the prospect of understanding such succinct theories, which can be applied in many industries, as well as forming new ones through extensive research, very exciting in today’s ever advancing society.
The topic to have engaged me the most at A-level has been differentiation. It is centred on the idea of limits, which relates directly to infinity and infinitesimals. I first read about Cantor’s continuum hypothesis in Clegg’s ‘A Brief History of Infinity’, and my understanding of infinity has evolved since then. The paradoxes associated with infinity and all the counter-intuitive arguments put forward about infinity motivate me to study infinity in detail, and I therefore look forward to the intriguing courses on analysis.
‘It may be very hard to define mathematical beauty, but that is just as true of beauty of any kind’ – Hardy in ‘A Mathematician’s Apology’. I agree with Hardy, for I feel that mathematical beauty is inexpressible and yet so common. However, I believe that Maths at school level has lost its beauty, as there is not enough emphasis on the proofs of theorems and the focus lies in the end result of a theorem instead. My opinion is that they are equally important, as one cannot exist without the other: you cannot classify something as a theorem unless it has a proof and you cannot have a proof unless it leads to a theorem. However, I have only come across beautiful Maths in proofs and I therefore look forward to the rigorous approach of being taught Maths at university level, which gives more importance to understanding. Currently, I find some stimulation in attending weekly extension Maths lessons, covering topics that go beyond the regular A-Level syllabus, such as Euclid’s algorithm, the Fibonacci sequence, the continuum hypothesis and proof by induction.
Maths has been a vital tool in innumerable disciplines, such as programming, medical imaging and code breaking, for thousands of years. I attended a lecture on ‘How Mathematics Drives Computing’ at Imperial College, where a lecturer explained how he was able to contribute significantly to airline scheduling via his PhD research work. Such constant evolution and innovation in Maths, with its potential as an instrument of solving problems and progressing society, attracts me greatly. In my spare time, I write Internet articles frequently on programming techniques, such as image scaling and collision detection, to which over 50 people are subscribed. Moreover, I have received a prize for a project I developed myself.
I am a School Prefect, which has enhanced my leadership skills. I participate in inter-school hockey matches as part of our School’s team, and I have practised the art of Taekwondo since I was ten years old.
