When the New Year bell rounded, everyone sat together to eat dumplings, dumplings wrapped in money, if someone had to eat the money, it was a symbol of the year's wealth rolling.

It was the Eve of the Spring Festival.
Dusk was just falling as I slurped up the last bit of rice and laid down my chopsticks.
“They're starting!” cried my friend excitedly. “Quick! Quick!”
Outside, children were running everywhere. Their happy voices and faces made me warm inside, despite the cold wind that greeted me. My friend thrust a bundle of straw in my hands. “Come!” he cried. I giggled as I ran to catch up to him; the children's excitement was a fever that spread to even the big kids like us.
I soon joined a rowdy bunch of children and teenagers who were building a bonfire in the middle of a path that ran through the wheat fields. “Here,”said my friend, handing me a long bamboo pole. “Put some of your straw in the fire. Then tie the rest onto your pole like this.” He demonstrated with his own materials, and I followed his example. Then he thrust both our torches into the fire and handed me mine. “Now run!”
And run I did----we all did. For miles and miles around, as far as I could see, there were small orange specks scattered about, and I could hear the distant screaming and laughing of other children running up and down the rice field path. For several hours into the night I helped build fires and keep an eye on the younger children. Occasionally I, too, lit a torch and ran around like a mad man, screaming and waving a flaming bamboo pole.
This festival, which occurred six days before Chinese New Year, was just one of the experiences during the visit to my friends over the Spring Festival. As it was explained to me, the purpose behind this festival was to allow the children to have fun burning up all the straw leftover after the harvest. Later, the ash is used for fertilizer.

新年，走亲访友是务必的，但大家的串门方法有别于一切一家人，他人家全是有一个行程安排方案，上边注明今日去哪里明日去哪里，我们家并不一样，我们家全是以某一个地址为中心，每日去一个地区，夜里便返回哪个中心歇息，隔日也是这般，因此 每一年都是会几个亲戚家没去到。
针对大家这类小朋友们而言，新年最开心的就是有新衣服穿或能接到很多红包了。确实，每一次过新年，我还能接到许多的红包，在其中面额不一。由于我不会太在乎大红包里的钱有多少，大红包，本来就只是亲朋好友们对大伙儿又长大以后一岁的一点心意，有多少钱又有什么关系呢？

中国农历年的岁首称为春节。是中国人民最隆重的传统节日，也象征团结、兴旺，对未来寄托新的希望的佳节。据记载，中国人民过春节已有4千多年的历史，它是由虞舜兴起的。公元前两千多年的一天，舜即天子位，带领着部下人员，祭拜天地。从此，人们就把这一天当作岁首，算是正月初一。据说这就是农历新年的由来，后来叫春节。春节过去也叫元旦。春节所在的这一月叫元月。
听长辈说以前的时代，好不容易到了春节别人才吃一点肉穿一件没有破洞的衣服，而现在我们有好吃的好穿的，所以一定要珍惜。
在的春节，大街上喜气洋洋，充满了快乐的生机。小朋友们别提有多高兴了，吵的要红包。大人们也挺高兴的一家团聚，大家都快快乐乐的。小鸟叽叽喳喳的叫着好像它们也举办一个节日呢!
在这美好的节日里家家户户都会去拜年，吉利嘛!在中国我们还有一些风俗习惯，比如说大年三十家家户户都会弄一条鱼，这条鱼不是吃的，过了几年再吃，这就象征着“年年有余”，饭也不会吃完意思是一样的。
在春节外面积满了厚厚的雪，在家门口放眼望去，如果没人的话那就可以说是雪人的王国。孩子们爬在雪人上嘻嘻哈哈地好像雪人跟他讲了一个笑话似的。在屋顶上、树林上，那白白的东西正是雪人国王施了的魔法，给他们盖一层厚厚的白棉被不让他们着凉!
在这一天中我来到奶奶家中过年。到了那里奶奶可高兴了。中午，奶奶搞了一个“满汉全席”当然少不了鱼。这我到有点搀了，嗨，要是没有这个习惯那就好了。吃完饭后我们一起堆雪人、打雪仗别提有多高兴了，我们堆了一个世界上最大的雪人，当时它的身高估计有两米哈哈，可现在已经化了要是雪人永远也不会化那就好了。
下午，我们去拜年了。我们到了邓奶奶家里，邓奶奶人很好，从我幼儿园到现在一直很关心我，爸爸妈妈给她买了一些补品。邓奶奶笑这说：“过节就过节嘛送什么东西。”我说：“您这么都年对我的关爱，我应该报答您，您就收下吧!”您笑这说：“好，好!”在回来的路上爸爸奖励我说我这一年有进步，给我买了一包“汪汪大礼包”我抱这大礼包心里美滋滋的!
到了晚上我们大家开始吃团圆饭了，在餐桌上我毫不犹豫的吃，反正我也长不胖多吃点。大家看见我大哈哈大笑了起来，我吃惊的望着他们。原来是两粒粘在了我的脸上。笑起来好像真的两个小酒窝。我摸了一下后也捧腹打笑，笑声在空中飘荡了很久……

我们的四大传统节日――春节、清明节、端午节、中秋节，我最喜爱的节日是春节。春节，俗称过年，一般指除夕和正月初一。
追溯起来，春节起源于殷商的祭神祭祖活动。相传在太古时期，有一种凶猛的怪兽，人们管它叫“年”。它形貌狰狞，生性凶残，专食飞禽走兽，鳞介虫豸，一天一种味儿，一直吃到大活人，让人谈“年”色变。聪明的祖先慢慢掌握了“年”的活动规律：每隔三百六十五天，“年”就窜到人类聚居的地方尝一次口鲜，而且出没的时间都是深夜，直至鸡鸣破晓，它才返回山林中。百姓们把这可怕的一夜视为“年关”，于是，每家每户都提前做好了晚饭，熄灯净灶，再把鸡圈牛栏扎牢实，把宅院前后门都封住，躲在屋里吃夜饭，后来就叫“年夜饭”。由于这顿饭有吉凶未卜的味道，所以置办得很丰盛，除了全家老小围在一起用餐表示和睦、团圆外，还还需在吃饭前供祭祖先，祈求祖先保佑。吃过饭后，一家人挤在一起闲聊壮胆，就逐渐养成熬夜守岁的习惯。
我们的春节带着浪漫梦幻的色彩，发展到今天，活动可多啦，从腊月初八到正月十五。
腊月初八，家家户户煮腊八粥。腊八粥形式多样，有的叫“七宝粥”，“五味粥”。我家爱用红小豆加江米，腊肉，胡萝卜，花生米，香青菜，大枣和大米之类来混煮，味道儿可鲜啦，它不仅清香甜美，口舌生津，而且能胃气舒畅，我极喜欢吃。
腊月廿三，廿四称“小年”，，祭灶神，蒸花馍，写春联，吃灶糖，扫庭院。小年习俗吃年糕，寓意万事如意年年高，“意取年岁年，籍以祈岁稔”。我家年糕俗称糯米粑粑。
腊月廿八，吃“出笼”米豆腐，用碱水将大米浸泡，然后和水磨成浆，再用火经过锅里搅和，最后拿到铺有稻草的大锅里蒸出，它碱味儿中和着稻草的清香，进口入胃，荡气回肠。
腊月廿九，我家乡的习俗要置天地桌；腊月三十，吃年夜饭。餐桌上，最显眼的是鱼，鱼者，余也，年年有余，吉祥如意。到80后，电视普及，春晚成为中国人必不可少的文化“盛宴”，代替围着火炉“守岁”习俗，成为新的“守岁”时尚。
正月初一吃元宝，燃放爆竹，百年占岁，饮屠苏酒。当说“元宝”，是将糯米制成米粉，包元宝时中间用红糖做芯子，让后放入锅中，用火煮熟，放入碗中，热气腾腾，吃的时候，红糖溢出，红红火火，象征幸福临门。
最有人情味儿的莫过于正月初二至十五的拜年，借春节喜庆，给亲友，长辈，拜年既让亲友长辈高兴，又能加强人与人沟通、交流。俗话说，水不搅不浑，人不走不亲。俗话还说，客走旺家门，被访者一高兴，还给小字辈儿一些压岁红包儿。
春节一直闹到正月十五元宵节，这期间，唱呀，跳呀，耍龙灯，舞狮子，各种各样的活动，增添了节日的喜庆气氛。
