我把复读机的音量开到最大，自己又拿出那本历史书来看。这样过了一些时候，听见妈妈叫道：“怎么没声音了？”我想：没读当然没声音啊。但是当然不能说出来，否则会被罚的，“马上让您听见。”我应付着，但是不久就忍不住又看历史去了。
看着看着，突然觉得有点不对劲————妈妈的炒菜声怎么停了？心中暗暗叫苦，然后回头一看——有一个人站在我后面，就是我妈妈。“好啊，名为读英语，实际上是在看历史书，拿来！”妈妈大怒，我只好悻悻地站起来，把历史书交给妈妈。妈妈一把夺去——走了！

在月考时，我的英语有了很大的进步。当我把成绩给妈妈看时，妈妈不可理解地看着我。我在心里偷笑，我想爸爸也是一样吧。
正如梁启超所说：苦乐全在主观的心，不在客观的事。而主观的心，就是你对这事的心态，心态好了，就是刀山火海也不难度过；心态不好，即使是唾手可得，对你来说也是高不可攀的高岩。逼是逼不出来的，没有好的心态，什么时也办不了。
