green-colored sunshine shining though soft leaves, all the green days in the growth rings’ telling legend to the future and the past. these green hopes in the olympic rings are just like warm hugs and brilliant haloes under the blue sky of beijing. as the 29th olympic game which is held in beijing is coming up soon, every citizen in our city is a messenger of green olympic, we love our city and care more and more about our environment. in those lovely smiling face, i’m touched deeply for all the efforts we make. i can see the grassland is greener; the blue sky is beautiful and clean, and every little tree is growing happily in warm and gentle breeze. this is my hometown, this is beautiful beijing, and there place the green olympic hopes on.
thinking about a few years ago, when i saw the taxonomic dustbin in our community for the first time, the green olympic made no difference in my mind. i just regarded it as an interesting way to sort garbage. but when a few days later i raised my hands high up and was eager to be a member of “the communist youth league’s epd group”, i told myself firmly, “it’s a great way to make contribution to the ’s beijing.” maybe this is why i have that much passion on this great action. in the following months, we have activities such as picking up all the plastic things which are surrounded our school together with our teacher. we were all very excited about this meaningful thing. we also set up special dustbins for used batteries, so that we can both pollute less and recycle more. when seeing all the plastics and the batteries were carried on the truck which was going to the recycle factory to handle these things, we were all very happy about it. everyone forgot all the hardness. to let the dream of“ green beijing” come true, all of us should give a hand. “i’ve do something great for you beijing,” what a great sentence!
and at the same time, the actions of protecting the environment are going on, too. my father changed all the taps in my family into saving-water ones, and all the water we use are recycled for at least 2 or 3 times. i always can hear this ad on cri, it says, “5 million children died each year, just for the drinking water.” so, help us to make the world safer. although my actions are rather small, but i think with all of you guys help, there will be a strong power.
the color green gives the olympic game a deeper meaning, green is in flowers, grasslands and in trees; green is in the sky, in the earth and in the sunshine. but to my opinion, green’s also in our minds, in our smiles and in the great love.
once in an activity which was to plant trees for the community, every planter got a card to hang out on the tree with writing a few meaningful words. do you know i have written what? that is:
“happy growing!”
“happy growing!” to every little tree in our green dreams.
“happy growing!” to the changing beijing!
“happy growing!” to the green olympics bud in every citizen’s heart! it’ll turn out sweet 3 years later in 2008!

A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life; a timely word may level stress; a loving word may heal and bless.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.
There was once a guy who suffered from cancer, a cancer that can?'t be cured. He was 18 years old and he could die anytime. All his life, he was stuck in his house being taken cared by his mother. He never went outside but he was sick of staying home and wanted to go out for once. So he asked his mother and she gave him permission.
He walked down his block and found a lot of stores. He passed a CD store and looked through the front door for a second as he walked. He stopped and went back to look into the store. He saw a beautiful girl about his age and he knew it was love at first sight. He opened the door and walked in, not looking at anything else but her. He walked closer and closer until he was finally at the front desk where she sat.

The fourth season is winter.December,January and February are the threemonths of that season.
The weather is very cold, and most of the plants die at that time.Sometimesit snows.
People can enjoy skating and skiing. But winter doesn' t stay with us for along time, for spring comes again soon.
Raise your hand if you've ever been asked the question “What do you want to be when yougrow up?”
Now if you had to guess, how old would you say you were when you were first asked thisquestion? You can just hold up fingers. Three. Five. Three. Five. Five. OK. Now, raise yourhand if the question“What do you want to be when you grow up?” has ever caused you anyanxiety.
Any anxiety at all.
I'm someone who's never been able to answer the question “What do you want to be when yougrow up?”
See, the problem wasn't that I didn't have any interests -- it's that I had too many. In high school,I liked English and math and art and I built websites and I played guitar in a punk band calledFrustrated Telephone Operator. Maybe you've heard of us.
This continued after high school, and at a certain point, I began to notice this pattern inmyself where I would become interested in an area and I would dive in, become all-consumed, and I'd get to be pretty good at whatever it was, and then I would hit this point whereI'd start to get bored. And usually I would try and persist anyway, because I had already devotedso much time and energy and sometimes money into this field. But eventually this sense ofboredom, this feeling of, like, yeah, I got this, this isn't challenging anymore -- it would get to betoo much. And I would have to let it go.
But then I would become interested in something else, something totally unrelated, and I woulddive into that, and become all-consumed, and I'd be like, “Yes! I found my thing,” and then Iwould hit this point again where I'd start to get bored. And eventually, I would let it go. But then Iwould discover something new and totally different, and I would dive into that.
This pattern caused me a lot of anxiety, for two reasons. The first was that I wasn't sure how Iwas going to turn any of this into a career. I thought that I would eventually have to pick onething, deny all of my other passions, and just resign myself to being bored. The other reason itcaused me so much anxiety was a little bit more personal. I worried that there was somethingwrong with this, and something wrong with me for being unable to stick with anything. I worriedthat I was afraid of commitment, or that I was scattered, or that I was self-sabotaging, afraid ofmy own success.
If you can relate to my story and to these feelings, I'd like you to ask yourself a question that Iwish I had asked myself back then. Ask yourself where you learned to assign the meaning ofwrong or abnormal to doing many things. I'll tell you where you learned it: you learned it fromthe culture.
We are first asked the question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” when we're aboutfive years old. And the truth is that no one really cares what you say when you're that age.
It's considered an innocuous question, posed to little kids to elicit cute replies, like, “I want to bean astronaut,” or “I want to be a ballerina,” or “I want to be a pirate.” Insert Halloween costumehere.
But this question gets asked of us again and again as we get older in various forms -- forinstance, high school students might get asked what major they're going to pick in college. Andat some point, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” goes from being the cute exerciseit once was to the thing that keeps us up at night. Why?
See, while this question inspires kids to dream about what they could be, it does not inspirethem to dream about all that they could be. In fact, it does just the opposite, because whensomeone asks you what you want to be, you can't reply with 20 different things, though well-meaning adults will likely chuckle and be like, “Oh, how cute, but you can't be a violin maker anda psychologist. You have to choose.”
This is Dr. Bob Childs --
and he's a luthier and psychotherapist. And this is Amy Ng, a magazine editor turned illustrator, entrepreneur, teacher and creative director. But most kids don't hear about people like this. Allthey hear is that they're going to have to choose. But it's more than that. The notion of thenarrowly focused life is highly romanticized in our culture. It's this idea of destiny or the one truecalling, the idea that we each have one great thing we are meant to do during our time on thisearth, and you need to figure out what that thing is and devote your life to it.
But what if you're someone who isn't wired this way? What if there are a lot of different subjectsthat you're curious about, and many different things you want to do? Well, there is no room forsomeone like you in this framework. And so you might feel alone. You might feel like you don'thave a purpose. And you might feel like there's something wrong with you. There's nothingwrong with you. What you are is a multipotentialite.
A multipotentialite is someone with many interests and creative pursuits. It's a mouthful to say. Itmight help if you break it up into three parts: multi, potential, and ite. You can also use one ofthe other terms that connote the same idea, such as polymath, the Renaissanceperson. Actually, during the Renaissance period, it was considered the ideal to be well-versedin multiple disciplines. Barbara Sher refers to us as “scanners.” Use whichever term you like, orinvent your own. I have to say I find it sort of fitting that as a community, we cannot agree on asingle identity.
It's easy to see your multipotentiality as a limitation or an affliction that you need toovercome. But what I've learned through speaking with people and writing about these ideas onmy website, is that there are some tremendous strengths to being this way. Here arethree multipotentialite super powers.
One: idea synthesis. That is, combining two or more fields and creating something new at theintersection. Sha Hwang and Rachel Binx drew from their shared interests in cartography, datavisualization, travel, mathematics and design, when they founded Meshu. Meshu is a companythat creates custom geographically-inspired jewelry. Sha and Rachel came up with this uniqueidea not despite, but because of their eclectic mix of skills and experiences. Innovation happensat the intersections. That's where the new ideas come from. And multipotentialites, with all oftheir backgrounds, are able to access a lot of these points of intersection.
The second multipotentialite superpower is rapid learning. When multipotentialites becomeinterested in something, we go hard. We observe everything we can get our hands on. We'realso used to being beginners, because we've been beginners so many times in the past, andthis means that we're less afraid of trying new things and stepping out of our comfortzones. What's more, many skills are transferable across disciplines, and we bring everythingwe've learned to every new area we pursue,so we're rarely starting from scratch.
Nora Dunn is a full-time traveler and freelance writer. As a child concert pianist, she honed anincredible ability to develop muscle memory. Now, she's the fastest typist she knows.
08:48Before becoming a writer, Nora was a financial planner. She had to learn the finer mechanics ofsaleswhen she was starting her practice, and this skill now helps her write compelling pitches toeditors. It is rarely a waste of time to pursue something you're drawn to, even if you end upquitting. You might apply that knowledge in a different field entirely, in a way that you couldn'thave anticipated.
The third multipotentialite superpower is adaptability; that is, the ability to morph into whateveryou need to be in a given situation. Abe Cajudo is sometimes a video director, sometimes a webdesigner, sometimes a Kickstarter consultant, sometimes a teacher, and sometimes, apparently,James Bond.

Then I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colorful dream in the English world. Everyday, I read English following the tapes. Sometimes, I watch English cartoons. On the weekend, I often go to the English corner. By talking with different people there, I have made more and more friends as well as improved my oralEnglish.
I hope I can travel around the world someday. I want to go to America to visit Washington Monument, because the president Washington is my idol. Of course, I want to go to London, too.Because England is the place that English language developed. If I can ride my bike in Cambridge university, I will be very happy. I hope I can speak English with everyone in the world. Ill introduce China tothem, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and Anshan.

Well, what a wonderful topic! How I wish it could become true now! Oh, a famous person, but if it did become true, I would fly to the war-torn Iraq right away. Why? I would go to meet the people there who have been afflicted by famine and devastation. I would work as a goodwill ambassador and try my best to raise the public awareness of the plight faced by people in Iraq.
Too many times, I saw the bloodshed in Baghdad, the tears on children’s faces, and the desperation in mothers’ eyes, I can’t help crying. The war was called “Iraqi Freedom”, but the true freedom can’t be given. Freedom is like the seed upon the wind, taking root in many nations, sprouting, blooming with the care and love, no fighting or gun. Everybody dreams of doing great things, but everyday we are called to do small things with great love. Therefore, I am always ready to give my hands to those who need them. I am confident that my hands with all of the loving hands in this world would bring peace and happiness to the needed. And if I became the famous person, my hands would reach further.
I do hope Iraq will not be enveloped in smoke again, and the splendid sunshine could warm the frozen land. No sirens, no fears and smiles will shine through over these tearful faces and all of these would never be taken away.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
“If I could reach higher, just for one moment to touch the sky…”---this is from my favorite song Reach.
When we are appreciating the passionate melody of Gloria Estefan, we could hardly imagine that she could return to the stage after her paralysis. In the year 1990, this Cuban singer was knocked down in a traffic accident, and the doctor declared that she might never walk again. But Gloria did not give up and kept up constant exercising. Just one year after the disaster, she stood up again and presented this encouraging song at the Atlanta Olympics.
Whenever I think of Gloria, I can’t help recalling my memory seven years ago, when I first entered university. Naturally shy, ordinary looking, average scores in study, just like an ugly duckling, I seemed to be the least outstanding one in my class. And the successive failures in the beginning led me into despair. “Am I destined to take the back seat to others?” Unwilling to submit to the fate, I paid more efforts on my study as well as many other activities, film dubbing, recital, drama… cause I just want to catch every little opportunity to prove myself. Constant effort yields sure success. Thanks to the competition, I received some awards and most of all, I gained the courage and confidence to face any difficulties in my life journey.
Life is just like farming, and what you can reap depends a lot on your sowing and dedication. Once you have a dream, don’t be hesitant. Your next difficult step may be the one to the top. Keep going forward, even in the toughest time, and never give up.
Thank you very much.

Dream, it is a fantastic word! I like it! Everyone has a dream, so do I. We can’t do anything without dreams!
I like wild animals. Tiger, elephant, panda, polar bear, koala and dolphin! They are so lovely! There are so many animals live in the wild! I like them! But many wild animals are facing the danger of extinction. For example, with the development of cities, their living areas have become narrower and narrower. Many of the wild animals, now are confronted with food crisis. At the same time, man is killing them just for getting their fur, skin, teeth and meat.
Protect them, protect our resources of ecology too. All of us should realize that the loss of any species is the loss of ourselves. Killing wild animals is prohibited. We should say —NO!to leather clothing. We should say —NO! to eat them. We should set up many national parks. Let them live there, happy and safe.
Wild animals and us are members of the planet!
Good morning everyone, today is my turn to the speech. First of all, I would like to say that a quick test, we hope that the good preparation, good test for all, is the only way home for a good year. My English is not high, I wish I could within the next two years to learn English well. I hope you will be able to learn English after graduation to have a good future. Good morning, my dear teachers and friends! My name is Li Bingke, from class four O five. Today, I am very happy to be here. My topic is —Our School.
My dear friends, welcome to our school! My school is very beautiful! It has a big playground. We can play and do some sports there. Near the playground, there is a garden. Many trees and flowers are there. So the air is very clean and we can hear birds singing in the trees. It is so wonderful. Our teaching buildings are around the garden and look like our teachers’ arms to welcome us. We can draw pictures in the art room on the first floor and read story-books in the library on the second floor. My classroom is on the third floor. It is clean and bright. We like to study in it. The computer room is on the fifth floor. We can sing and dance in the music room on the sixth floor. What a lot of fun! We can have lunch in the canteen near Defang Teaching Building.
In our school, our teachers work hard and help us with our lessons. We study hard and listen to teachers carefully. After class, our teachers play with us and we feel very happy.
Our school is so nice and our teachers are so kind. We all love them. Dear friends, do you like them?
Thats all. Thanks!
