The characters have their own personalities. Mrs. Bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. Mr. Bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, Mr. Darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Even the five daughters in Bennet family are very different. Jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. Elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. Mary likes reading classic books. (Actually she is a pedant.) Kitty doesnt have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, Lydia. Lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate. When I read the book, I can always find the same personalities in the society now. That is why I think this book is indeed the representative of the society in Britain in the 18th century.

寒假里，我读完了简。奥斯汀的小说《傲慢与偏见》，这是一本令人深思的小说。
人对人的第一印象很重要，如果伊丽莎白没有对达西产生偏见，他们的婚姻也就不会有那么多阻碍。但有时候，你对别人的第一印象未必就是那个人的性格。有些人看上去很不正经，却是一个不折不扣的好人，有些人看上去一脸正气，却是一个道貌岸然，里面一套，外面一套的伪君子。看一个人不能用他的外貌、神态直接来判断他是好人还是坏人，由此我想到了一件发生在我身边的事。
一天，我坐公交车出去，车上有一个外国小伙，头发很长，耳朵插着耳机，双手搭在牛仔裤的口袋上，一脸不正经。然而，当一位老人颤颤巍巍上车时，只有这个外国小伙给她让了座，其余那些西装革履的“君子”却都是正襟危坐，一动也不动。
