This August I found a new job which is a recruiting manager of a famous software company. Because of the operation of our company is providing world-class IT solutions to global clients. So every position requires good English communication skills including mine. In this job I lead a hiring team and be responsible for supporting staffer needs of the testing department. The latter half of the year is the busiest period, because many new projects have been processing. Almost all the project teams are short of hands. Software outsourcing is an agreement that provides deadlines for completion of the work. Choosing resumes, interviewing with candidates and commending qualified candidates to attend client’s final test are my daily grind, to most effectively coordinate with staffing processes. If the candidates pass the final test, we will announce correlative dept to transact procedure. Implement testing department staffing processes to ensure compliance. Up to last month our recruiter team has hired seventy eight qualified staffers including I found the nineteen engineers.

After many hours of research, we finally
figured out the procedure. We had to create
a Web Part Library using a template in Visual Studio, and code our functionality
inside. In this case, it pulls the total number of jobs assigned of a particular user from
the database of the job queue applications. To deploy the web part, we have to zip
the web part into a cab package, and install it into the Global Assembly Cache on the
server that hosts the portal. Finally, we have to go inside SharePoint Portal and
import the web part into the system. From this
point on, all the users need to do is to
drag the inboxes of those applications onto their page.
Conclusion
These web parts help user to get all the convenient and relevant information for
users in one location. It dramatically im
proves productivity, and user to be more
efficient. The project was unique because we had to do a lot of research ourselves
to make it work. It was a good problem solving experience for me.

Project: RG Truck Management
Description
The RG Truck Management tool is a brand new application to help user manage
RG truck group in the Dailylog, a web sy
stem that used by engineers at NACCO. It
allows user to view all RG truck groups, and let RG engineers edit group data and
add new groups. This application also collapses previous method of custom page for
each truck group to one generic page that takes the truck group name as an
argument.
Solution
Before this tool, when the RG engineers want to collect information about a truck
group, they have to give a list of the trucks they want to be in the group to the IT
staff. The IT staff then hard code those truck into an asp file that pulls all the data the
engineers needs from the database and lists in a table. They give the URL of this
asp file to the engineers to import into Excel to gather and graph their data.
Obviously, this process is quiet cumbersome. It takes a lot of time and work for the
IT staff, since for each new truck group the engineers request, they need to create a
new separate asp file. It is also a hassle for the engineers as well, because for every
new groups they need, they have to contact IT, and wait for that special URL, not
counting the huge amount of work spent on maintaining, storing and keeping tracks
all the files and URLs on both ends.
The new web tool makes the RG truck group management process much easier. It
consists of two parts: interfaces and a dynamic asp data collecting file. Instead of
requesting through IT staff each time, the engineers can go to the display page of
the web tool to see all the existing truck groups and the trucks in those groups. With
the right administrative rights, user can also add a new truck group or edit an
existing truck group simply by
clicking on the appropriate links that only show up for
this group of users. Once a truck group is in the system, the tool will auto generate a
URL for the users to import into Excel to get their data. Behind this URL, there is just
one asp file that takes a dynamic argument, the truck group name, and pull all the
data associate with this group from the database accordingly. This is dramatically
better than having to create and maintain multiple files. Now, everyone who needs
the data can just get it themselves online without waiting on multiple parties that are
involved in the process.
Conclusion
The new application simplifies the maintenance drastically. It gives users more
control without constant needs for IT intervention. Since the tool recognizes each
user’s credential, it secures the viewing
and editing of the data. Overall it improves
productivity and speeds up the process. When I presented this tool to the engineers
and leadership teams at NACOO, it was very well received.

Description
To enhance user experience with the SharePoint Portal site, new SharePoint web
parts were created to notify users of their status of the most frequently used
applications. Users can add these web parts to personalized dashboard in My Site
as needed.
Solution
Before these web parts, there is no central location for employees to access the
information regarding to their work. Instead, there are many web applications at
NACOO keeping track of work requests and projects, and people receive notification
e-mails in their Outlook inbox whenever a job is assigned to them. It is common for
an employee to open four and more applications first thing in the morning each day
to track all their projects.
When the company decided to deploy SharePoint
portal to host all their web sites,
the software came with the “My Site” functionality. When each employee log on,
SharePoint portal site will generate a personal home page called My Site for the
user. On this page, the users can choose to put information only concerning them,
such as sites they frequently go to, co
mpany and department news regarding their
work, and even local weather at their facilitie
s. They achieve this by simply dragging
and dropping different pre-made web parts onto their My Site. The idea is to have a
one stop location for employees to get all information they need, save their time and
free up their mail box. We further this notion by creating inbox web parts for the key
job query applications on site, so user can put the ones they use onto their page to
help them plan their work better. This project was quiet difficult because we just
decided to incorporate SharePoint Portal, and the entire IT staff were still learning
the functionalities of the application. Since this application is still new, there wasn’t
much information on how to develop and create customized application against it.

The bloodthirsty mantis stood bravely on the road by himself. The joy of victoryintoxicated(沉醉，中毒) him into thinking that he might be the most indomitable creature in the world. Soon, he heard a strange sound from a distance. It was a one-wheel wooden cart pushed by a man coming toward his direction on the way.
The mantis had never seen a wooden cart. He stood on the road brandishing his two powerful large saws without retreat. He really believed that he could frighten away the unknown monster as he had defeated his challenger.
In another minute, the wheel of wooden cart rolled over the poor, self important, ignorant mantis, crushing his without the cart drive's even knowing.
In our society, there are many 'mantises'. They think they are more superior than others. They over-estimate their own ability, because they have never seen a “wooden cart.”
A Chinese proverb says, “If you think you are the strongest, there is always somebody who is stronger than you; if you think your world is the largest, there is always another world which is larger than yours.”

There is a story about a cicada(蝉) in the Chinese classic, Chuang-Tzu. Once upon a time, a male cicada joyfully joined his friends in singing the most beautiful praises of happy summer. He sang and sang, completely intoxicating himself in the comfortable, hot afternoon without noticing a great danger approaching.
A couple of inches away, behind the singer, was a huge mantis extending his two powerful saw-like forelimbs, preparing to make a sudden attack on the helpless cicada. The mantis was concentrating on how to catch the delicate cicada for his late lunch and did not realize that a hungry yellow bird was hiding under the leaves, less than half a foot behind the mantis.
The bird was sure he could capture the mantis for his early supper, but he never dreamed that amischievous boy standing under the branches was aiming at him with his hand-made bow. When the boy got the bird, he jumped up excitedly and hurt himself by a careless fall as he stepped into a big hole in front of him.
What the author of the book tried to tell us is that if you think you are smart enough to take advantage of another person, there is always somebody else who might be smarter than you, trying to take your advantage. The self-declared smartest person often becomes the victim of an unexpected accident.
There are traps behind leaves and under the branches. As long as you do not want to take advantage of someone else, you will be smart enough to defend yourself.
