古都总是美妙么？未必。课本里有郁达夫先生令人怀念的秋天，扫把经过留下淡淡印记，也有老舍先生并不太令人怀念的酷夏，祥子在泥泞中挣扎谋生。但在今天，不管是否经历，怀念这座城市，往往会是将其幻化为前者，选择性地遗忘后者——这其实不是因为过去更美，只是因为现实悲催。悲催的一点在于，无论好坏，老北京城从视线中消失了。

老规矩总是有道理的么？同样未必。牵涉封建迷信的自不用说，男尊女卑那套礼法也早就被淘汰。今天人们怀念起老规矩的时候，这些负面内容被下意识地排除在外，他们强调的甚至不是规矩内容，而是规矩所带来和体现的规规矩矩的社会生活方式——这其实不是因为老规矩更合情理，只是因为现实悲催。更悲催的一点在于，在这座快速变化的城市中，一些旧有美德的确正在被淡忘，包括有规矩和守规矩本身。

没有规矩，才是最可怕的沦丧，它比城市建筑风格消失更不可逆。事实上，变迁难定对错，人们破坏一些，他们创造另一些，城市在变，审美标准也在变。譬如，曾经被骂得一钱不值的，楼宇顶上的中国古代风格“帽子”，现在看来，并不比形似内裤的所谓现代派建筑更丑陋。但是，道德的基本标准不会变，从过去到现在，再到未来，一旦失去，再难回来。不难想象，没人指望卑鄙人性会留下高尚者的通行证。

破坏规矩，首先是对秩序和现实的不尊重，有些属于反社会心理问题，有些纯粹出于其他目的的反科学。一个不能忽视的问题是：当城市走上一条快速发展道路之时，当偌大一座现代化都市里存在很多不文明的、甚至违法乱纪的行止时，如何寻回那些老规矩，如何让老规矩带给人们规规矩矩的生活方式。事实上，恰恰是怀念老规矩的那些人，未必有心思琢磨得那么远，这是他们的家，他们只是本能地感到忧虑和愤怒，一种不学而知的良知。

怀念北京的老规矩，就像怀念曾经的四九城。

不但写文章要如此，做人更要如此。一个伟大的人，是因为他平时多做善事，把那一件件善事积累起来，便是伟大。而一个坏人，是因为他平时多做坏事，一件件坏事积累起来，便成恶习，最后坑害人民和社会，只能在监狱里忏悔。一个人应该多做善事，不断删除身上的恶习。这样就能逐渐成为十全十美的人。每一个人都有一个人生的垃圾桶，也是你人生的垃圾处理器，你垃圾桶里的垃圾越多，说明你的坏习惯越少;当然，还要有一个人生的“银行”，这个“银行”里存放着你做过的善事，不知道大家有没有发现它们，使用它们没有，它们会让你一步步地接近十全十美。
