但要真正做到让制假者闻风丧胆，谈何容易!有人总结“打坛”的生存方式一般有三种：一是纯粹的个人打假，在流通领域购假索赔;二是公司打假，接受厂家的委托，帮助厂家调查假货源头，配合执法机关联手打假;三是两者相结合，一边从事公司打假业务，一边有选择地打假索赔，借此赢得媒体和舆论的支持，并建立自己的品牌形象和团队。与其说是打假的“三种方式”，倒不如说是“三个阶段”更贴切，因为这些职业打假者都经历了这三个阶段，他们也因此从“一匹狼”变成了“一群狼”，从“打假个体”变成了“千万资产的公司老板”—只是这个过程太坎坷。
