从来没有人关心他，同情他，有的只是无尽的嘲讽，捉弄和咒骂，所以他对所有人都怀着恶意和仇恨。只是在对所有人的怨恨中除一人例外，他爱这个人的程度与他爱圣母院相等，可能还超过;此人就是克洛德?弗洛罗。

故事发生在一个愚人节，美拉达在广场上卖艺，摇摆着曼妙的身姿，她有着美妙的歌声，令人着迷的舞姿，吸引了所有的人，他们被美拉达由内而外散发出的芬香所吸引，然而副教主克洛德也对她一见钟情，他让人人唾弃的，外表畸形的卡西莫多去抢走美拉达。

卡西罗多受克洛德指示，做了许多伤害美拉达的事。但在卡西莫多遭鞭打时，艾丝美拉达仍不计前嫌，将水送到卡西莫多的嘴边，她的美丽温柔与善良打动了卡西莫多，卡西莫多流下了热泪的同时也深深记住了美拉达。

我推荐这本书的第一个原因，是这本书人物个性鲜明。其中有长相丑陋而又纯朴善良的敲钟人卡西莫多，有美丽动人又纯真可爱的吉普赛姑娘爱斯美拉达，有学识渊博而又阴险狡诈的主教代理克洛德・弗罗洛，还有年轻英俊却又虚伪卑下的御前侍卫队队长浮比斯・德・夏多佩……

我喜欢爱斯美拉达，也为她悲惨的结果感到悲哀。我喜欢卡西莫多，也为他忠贞的爱情表示欣赏。我不喜欢克洛德，但也为他那渊博的学识感到震惊。我也不喜欢浮比斯，虽然他英俊，出身高贵，但他却十分虚伪……

书中的人物有我欣赏的与不欣赏的，但每一个人物都是那样的鲜活、生动，共同演绎了一曲美与丑的悲歌。

《巴黎圣母院》这本大型浪漫主义小说出自于于十九世纪法国浪漫主义诗人雨果的手笔。在琳琅满目的书中，书名一下子映入我的眼帘，引起了我浓厚的读书欲望。雨果让我佩服的是，他运用美而不虚，实而不僵的手法以及富有独特魅力的语言完成了这部作品。

这本书写的是丑聋人卡西莫多被巴黎圣母院的神父弗罗洛收养，做撞钟人，外貌正经的神父弗罗洛自从遇见美丽的吉普赛少女爱斯梅拉达后，被其美色所诱而神魂颠倒，致使卡西莫多强行掳走爱斯梅拉达，途中被骑兵上尉队长弗比斯所救，爱斯梅拉达因而爱上了弗比斯。但弗比斯生性风流，被怀恨在心的弗罗洛刺杀，但没有死。并嫁祸于爱斯梅拉达，令她被判死刑，行刑时，卡西莫多将爱斯梅拉达救走并藏身于圣母院中，乞丐群众为救爱斯梅拉达而冲入教堂，误与卡西莫多大战，副主教弗罗洛威胁爱斯梅拉达。爱斯梅拉达被由弗罗洛带领的军队绞杀在广场上，卡西莫多愤然将弗罗洛从教堂顶楼推落，最后卡西莫多抱着爱斯梅拉达的尸体殉情。

对我来说，印象最深刻的情节是行刑之日，隐修女与爱斯美拉达母女相认。从相认到离别，从无比喜悦到万分悲痛，我的心也跟着跳动。一会儿替她们高兴，一会儿替她们悲伤。当读到隐修女用自己的生命去跟士兵们搏斗时，脑海中便浮现出那个场面：隐修女露出恶魔般的表情，发出嘶哑的吼叫，来保护自己的女儿。最后士兵越来越多，隐修女跪下来，流着泪，用凄惨的声音苦苦哀求他们，最后母女还是分离。睁开眼后，我再看看文字，十分感动，心想：这就是母爱的力量啊！

《巴黎圣母院》作为浪漫主义文学的里程碑这部小说最明显的标志之一，是雨果把善恶美丑作了鲜明的对照。人性的层层面面是多么复杂却简单：尽管人的精神世界是双面的，没有完全的丑，也没有绝对的美。但是，美就是进步的方向，美就是最原始的目的。

今天，我拜读了大文豪雨果的经典之作《巴黎圣母院》。这本书讲了一个发生在18世纪的悲剧故事。
