大约五年前，中国的政府做了一个决定—取消黄金假期，黄金假期是劳动者的长假期。这样的决定已经引起了大众的'热议。长假期让人们有时间休息，然而长假期也有不好。

On the one hand, long holidays provides the time for working people to go home and stay with family. Most people go to work far away from their homes, the far distance causes them lack of enough time to visit parents on weekends. So if they want to spend time with family, long holidays will be needed. Chinese tradition pays special attention to the family union, the long days of vacation give people the chance to stay with family.

一方面，长假期为工作的人提供了时间回家，和家人呆在一起。大部分人在远离家的地方工作，长远的距离让人们周末没有足够的时间拜访父母。因此如果他们想要和家人呆在一起，就得有长假期。中国的传统特别注重家庭团聚，长时间的假期让人们有机会和家人呆在一起。

On the other hand, long holidays provides the time for people relax and go for travel, the flooded with tourists in the scenic sites and spots damage the preservation of historic things. We see from the news that when holiday comes, the famous tourist site are full of people, the purpose of enjoying the scenery is being missed, we only see numerous heads.

放长假可算得上我国一大特色，实行这一改革已有十多年，当初的目的是为了“拉动内需”，虽然对此利弊多有议论，但发表意见者多是普通老百姓，不是头面人物，说过也就算数。春节后我也写过一篇杂文，主要的意思过春节也好，或者办其它的事情也好，都要遵守客观事物的平衡规律，要考虑到资源的合理利用，人力、物力是否允许，否则违反事物发展规律，必然将受到大自然的惩罚。实行年假轮休制度，可以把春节与探亲两个内容分开来，即是春节不论人在那里都可以欢乐庆祝，而利用年假来探亲，因为年假采取轮休制，全国几亿人口不必集中在七天春节假期中进行。本来春节恰逢学生放寒假，交通已够困难，何必大家都来过此独木桥。

每次放长假后媒体总会报导这次长假中市场上销售额增加多少多少个亿元，这是可以肯定的，集中在这七天内消费，当然可以使市场经济短时内繁荣一下，但这个数据一般是没有多大意义的，竟究与所谓“拉动内需”有什么可联系的则是不得而知。要“拉动内需”，请老百姓来增加消费，根本的一条是要提高老百姓的收入，其次还要看社会保障体系是否合理，即使收入增加，但医疗费用猛增，房价飞涨老百姓还是要积蓄钱款来解决一些大额化钱的事情，总不能俗话所说的做“脱底棺材”。我国人口众多，有那末1%的1300百万先富起来的人进行长假消费，那也是不得了，肯定会把各旅游点挤塌。再说短时内消费峰值与平均值，两者的意义是完全不同的。所以不要以为短短的七天中增加营业额便当是“拉动内需”了。

近几年来所谓“年味”好像是越来越重，本来节日要怎样过各有所好，旁人不必说三道四，但是过春节也是中华民族的传统文化内容的一部分，一个民族的文化是要经过不断的发展，宣扬光大其先进优秀的部分，同时也要抛弃其糟粕落后的东西，像春节年初五(有的是年初六)请财神这种落后迷信的活动，放掉了大量的鞭炮，留恋连续两天放下来不知放掉多少火药与纸张，大量硝烟污染环境，影响周边人们的生活，放些鞭炮财神爷就能到你家来，你就真的就会发财吗?这是一种愚蠢低级的庆祝活动，是所谓传统文化的糟粕部分，没有必要值得提倡。由于需要消耗大量鞭炮，就得要大量生产，往年都有烟花厂爆炸死人，河南林州市鞭炮厂仓库爆炸，造成死亡人数达到36人，受伤48人的记录。鞭炮生产量一多，跟着仓煲惨大建，今年又出大事故，2月15日广东三水国内最大花炮仓库发生爆炸，两万箱花炮持续爆炸了29个小时，广州地区都有震感，出动了26辆消防车，甚至动用了消防坦克。现在的爆竹威力不小，礼花弹射威力超过30米，单个闪光雷炮爆炸的噪声达到130分贝以上，马路上像上海外滩车辆多时噪声约70、80左右分贝，要知道分贝数增加一倍，不是声音大一倍，它是对数关系，是按几何级数增加的。另外爆竹爆炸时的导向性很差，要发生乱串，造成对人体伤害，用爆竹来表示节日庆贺，这种方法是很原始、落后、不科学的。大量的放爆竹，一放闪光炮就是几万响，这样的玩法甚至是愚t和野蛮。难道庆贺节日便没有其它的方法吗?

长假的利弊是很明显的，它的优点无非是集中短时间内增加消费，放便的事便是让在职职工出游探亲，可以增加旅游公司的收入，因此也可带动其它行业的营业额，如交通、旅馆、饮食、风景点的门票等等行业的营业额，但是直接增加数字只不过是集中到这段时间而已。还有就是增加亲人团聚的机会与时间。相反从长假造成的反面效应来看，可以讲是触目惊心的。从08年春节长假情况来分析，更能看到的是一旦遇到特殊情况，其承受能力更难应付。如果08年雪灾不与长假相逢，在处理事故、抢险救灾上恐怕要方便得多，而且效果也会更好一些。现在归纳放长假有下列几点缺点;

1.长假妨害资源的合理使用;一个国家，正如我们又是个大国，它的各方面运作都有各自的一套的运行规律，比如一个连续生产的企业，中间要仃产七天，其原料供应、能源供给、销售环节，不知要多少方方面面的调整，过了七天又要把它调整回来，这一系列的变动，必然会涉及资源的.合理利用问题。过去我们搞的大多是封闭式经济，对外联系较少，我们放我们的假，关系不大，现在外资企业很多，它们时刻要与国外联系，人家在国外的本部不放长假，他们就不能与在大陆的公司作及时的联系，很不方便，所以这些外资企业现在很多是不放长假的。

2.妨害环境保护，造成污染;首先是放鞭炮的污染，放鞭炮它要产生大量二氧化硫、一氧化氮，二氧化氮等有毒气体，这些气体都对人体呼吸系统，神经系统与心血管都有损害。再是噪声，如前所述，单个闪光炮爆炸时其噪声便可达130分贝以上。此外还有大量的纸屑，媒体报导称散落的纸屑为红色海洋，把破坏环境现象似乎看作是光荣来庆贺，很是不妥。生产这么多的烟花爆竹，要用去大量纸张，虽然对纸质要求不高，但数量之多是不可否认的，这就会增加造纸厂产量，造纸工业是我国目前最大污染行业之一，可见小小爆竹对环境的污染之大是不言而喻。

此外由于人口大量集中流动，我国东部沿海地区生活垃圾便要增多很多，单是上海市区08年七天长假共清除垃圾94920吨，是历年最多，同时市容与城-管热线受理市民投诉197件。虽然经环卫工人努力，但公共场所、车站码头不如意之处遍地都是。特别是铁路车上的厕所都是不经处理直接排放，据前的统计平时每天直排铁轨上的S便是3000吨以上，遇到春节黄金周每天至少将有三万吨以上的粪便要直排在铁轨上，卫生真是堪忧，再说各旅游景点，人为患，景点设施，园林树木，损坏的不计其数。还有一些动物演出单位，为了增加收入，循环不断地让动物演出，简直是在迫-害动物，谈不上爱护动物。还有什么保护环境，保护生态好谈。

还有一件可能与消防有关的放飞孔明灯的事情。08年2月22日上海新闻晚报报导在上海科技广场上放飞孔明灯。现在的年青人很多是不知孔明灯是什么灯，我小的时候看过人家放过这种灯，它是用纸糊成一个方形或园形的一个空壳子，大小不等，里边有能够固定装上用燃料燃烧的一个燃烧器，大半个世纪前多是用一只煤油炉。它的放飞原理与现代的热汽球相似，由于灯壳子内的煤油燃烧致使灯壳内的空气受热，以及燃烧后的废气，使得内部气体增加，同时使得内部气温上升，气体加温膨胀造成孔明灯本身对空气产生浮力，于是灯就会上升到天空，这种灯因体积较大，我小时候看到的，大的有好几个立方米这么大，它的浮力也是很大的，它没有导向装置，一旦上升到十多米高的时候受到风力的影响便一边上升一边给风吹飘向远方，特别在夜间放飞孔明灯是十分好看好玩的，如果糊灯的纸张透明度好，在黑夜天空中看到像一个大火球似的，即使用的是旧报纸糊灯也是够明亮的，由于它造价成本不高，到后来都是越做越大，成为一种风气了。但事情都有它的另一面，孔明灯放飞后是无法回收的，到最后大多便是自己烧掉，这样就产生一个隐患，也就是当它落下烧掉时容易发生火灾，它是飘到那里就烧到那里，当年在浙江乡下曾发生过先落到一间山区民房上引起火灾，继而发生山火，所以那时一般规矩人家是不玩的，说是要害人的，是做不积德的事情，现在事情已过有半个多世纪，或许有好的先进防范措施，但是要介绍玩孔明灯的话，预防火灾的事不能不提。特别是在人口少的山区地方，还是不提倡为好。写此文时隔没有几天，即到3月5日，上海新闻晚报就报导在湖北由于放飞孔明灯烧出了二千亩山火，祸患不校

3.接下要说长假过后的情况，每次长假过后都会有放鞭炮炸伤眼睛，节日饮食过度发生肠胃不适，生活规律变动造成精神、情绪不佳等都有发生。下面可举引一些报导;

a，上海据复旦大学附属耳鼻喉科医院急诊科统计;因大年三十燃放爆竹，08年春节第一天年初一零时至下午四点钟已经接诊了13例眼睛被爆炸受伤的患者，不要以为对全市人口的百分比率很低，其实对每一个患者就是100%的倒楣。还有一桩奇事，四川达州电信公司总经理乱放鞭炮遭到制止，竟带人打砸派出所。

b,放长假许多人要改变生活习惯，上班族在这几天往往睡懒觉，晚上捂在沙发上度时间看碟片，几天下来，长假过后去上班便觉腰酸背痛，媒体报导说从上海市六、新华、曲阳医院等处了解到，前来就诊头昏头痛，颈肩背部及上肢麻痛等病人数量骤增，仅曲阳医院新开的白领周末门诊，一个上午就诊的人就达60余人，比平时翻番，绝大多数都与春节放长假有关。还有报导节日“游戏迷”、“麻将迷”突发心梗、中风。脑梗等疾病高发。虽然这与个人自己不注意保养有关，但在客观上与放长假有着必然的联系。
