Ok then. well after a bit of thought. I've decided to talk to you about bamboo. However, I honestly don't know if I'm gonna be able to talk for two minutes about it, but I'll give it a try!

So first of all, as for how I know about bamboo, well I can't really remember exactly how I first got to know about it, you know, it could have been in a biology class at school, or when I was out somewhere with my parents, but my guess would be that I probably first knew about it at primary school, because that was about the time when we first started learning about things like that.

Anyway, moving on to why bamboo is important, well I'd say it's pretty important for a number of reasons, the main one of which would be that it can be used to make so many different things, you know, such as chopsticks, chopping boards, flooring, what else.um......oh yeah, and musical instruments, like the bamboo flute for example.

And another thing to mention is that bamboo is also used a lot for carrying stuff. For example, what I've seen people do is rest it on their shoulders, and then hang things on each end, because as well as being strong, it's also very flexible, so it won't break, even with very heavy loads.

Describe a special toy you had in your childhood.

You should say:

what it was

who gave it to you

how often you played with it

and explain why it was special to you.

When I was five years old, I had an accident and was admitted in the hospital. I was required to stay in bed for at least two months. Days in the patient ward wasn’t as dull as I expected it to be. Actually the first week was quite fun. I could watch TV in bed and chat with my fellow “roommates” and my family visited me everyday.

But after a while, the hospital gradually started to lose its charm. I was getting bored when my Dad showed up. With a hat in his hand, he started to perform magic tricks. Out of thin air, he produced a flower and put it in the hat. Guess what happened next? He made a magic cube from the hat.

I was immediately in love with the magic cube. Time seemed to go much faster when my Dad taught me how to play it. Before I knew it, I was running around again. Till this day I play it on a daily basis. It always reminds me of my special bonding time with my Dad.

“Rome was not built in a day”应该是考生耳熟能详的名言警句。

比如考生准备了“Describe a vehicle”,考场上碰到的题目是“Describe something expensive you want to buy”,那么考生完全可以直接把准备过的汽车话题拿出来讲。

雅思口语话题范文之一日假期a day off

Describe what you would do if you had a day off, free from work or study等等。

You should say:

where you would go

what you would do there

who you would go with

and explain how you think you would feel at the end of this day.

If I had a day off, I won't do anything special or taking any adventures. I just want to spend the whole day with my family. And I think go to a park with a big lake is a good choice. Because this is a free way to get some outdoors time with my family, and maybe even some exercise too. For example, I think I will bring a kite or bike there. Also I want to rent a small boat and go out fishing. Finally, after a whole day's activities we can have a BBQ there.

No matter you are working or studying, we are all busy with our daily routine and leave no time for family. A day off and going out with parents makes me feel we bound together. Talking some interesting stories while we are fishing makes me feel warm. Also, with all the beautiful natural sceneries I feel relaxed and happy. Moreover, having outdoor activities is like living in the air and I can get rid of all the pressure.

考官问道:“What are the most popular birds in China and what meanings do they have?” 考生可以坦然地告诉考官:“I don’t really know much about birds.”或者干脆说:“I don’t know.” 考生可以用一个简单的转移技巧:“but one of my friends is crazy about birds, and he used to tell me...”

Mr. “I don’t know”可以用来称呼凡事总是 “I don’t know”的哥们儿。遇到物品,例如谈一样有用的设备,我就会说“well, I am going to talk about my little girlfriend then…” 考官听到这里刚要纳闷怀疑我是不是没读懂题目,就听到我接着说到“…my iPod, a very trendy mp3 player and also a very useful electronic device, which I would always take along with me wherever I go.”

3. Do you think it is good to be a teenager?

Definitely. The life of teenagers is always hopeful and promising with enough chances to try and to make mistakes, which is actually a period for them to learn dealing with different problems and going through various kinds of mental and physical changes. In addition, they don’t have to face the heavy living pressure.

Although apparently they have limited freedom and rights, and they are likely to feel lonely and confused on the way of growth.

She has curly black hair and a very fair complexion. She generally wears jeans and T?shirts but on formal occasions she wears traditional Punjabi suits. She is very polite by nature and respects elders.

She has a great sense of humour and can turn any tense situation into a happy one.She is also very good at studies and many times used to help me when I had any problem in Mathematics. Now also she helps me in any situation when I need her help.

Although she is younger to me she is like a true friend. She is so trustworthy that I can open my hearts secrets to her and be sure that she would never let me down.

Actually she is my paternal uncle’s daughter and lives next door.We see each other daily and sometimes even play badminton in the park opposite our house.

Teenage is a very stressful period of life as there are physical and hormonal changes going on at this time.At the same time there is the stress of choosing subjects on which the future career depends.A great support of family is needed at this time.I am fortunate my teenage was a very happy one and so is Rania’s.

Brad Pitt is one of my very favourite actors and I am a huge fan of his movies. He is a famous Hollywood actor and has got several prizes for his superb work in movies.

Honestly, he is a good actor who is known worldwide. He is the husband of another famous female actress Angelina Jolie. His full name is William Bradley “Brad” Pitt and he is around 50 years old now. For his excellent performance in acting he has received a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and three Academy Award nominations in acting categories. He has done some film production works as well. He is a fine actor with a natural gift of depicting the characters. Often his performance in movies gets very high applauses and because of that, he was nominated for Oscars more than once.

He usually acts in drama and action movies but his acting varies from the character of a vampire to a war hero and legendary characters as well. I have enjoyed most of the movies acted by him and his performance in movies like Seven, Interview with the vampire, The legend of the falls, 7 years in Tibet, Meet Joe Black was simply excellent. I find him to be a very high-class actor and a superb person with his tremendous activity in social welfare works. All these reasons make him to my favourite actor.

1. Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin (often termed as Charlie Chaplin) was an iconic actor in the world. He looked stunning with his stick, hat, and coat. He had a distinctive walking style on the movies. And he was famous for his comical movies. In fact, most of his movies were based on comedy and he used to portray some social problems through the movies. I admire him for his special acting skills. He was able to get into the character instantly.

2. Brad Pitt is a legendary actor to me for his natural acting skills. He looks very smart and has his own style. He is a versatile actor. So, he can take part in different types of movies but I liked the movies where he played some gentle roles. I admire Brad Pitt for his sincere acting skills. He is a bit different from the other contemporary actors. And he also loves to remain formal in all of his movies. He is also loveable for his special facial expression in times that really make me thrilled.

3. Jennifer Shrader Lawrence is a great actress of the present time and she is also a highly paid actress. In fact, she gets the highest payment for her roles in movies – so far I came to know. She has a pretty look with a distinctive style of her own. She is comfortable with different types of character but she is perfect for characters with mystery. She can portray the character naturally. I admire her because of her intelligence and acting skills. She was the youngest actress to get nominated for two academy awards at a time. in fact, this is not possible for the ordinary artists if you do not have some talents inside.

3) X-factor

1. What skills should be taught to children?

2. What can children learn from teachers and parents?

3. What are the skills that you want to learn?

4. What skills do adults need to have?

5. How can people be motivated to learn new things?

1. What skills should be taught to children?

Sample answer

There are some skills and abilities I think a kid should be taught, such asinterpersonal skills, learning ability and anti-pressure ability. These skills and abilities are quite essential for now and for later. For example, interpersonal skills can help a child to make more friends at school so that he or she might tend to be willing to go to school. Also interpersonal skills can help the child to make friends in the workplace when he or she grows up.

2. What can children learn from teachers and parents?

Sample answer

There are definitely a lot that a kid can learn from teachers and parents. Actually, they can have a subtle and long-term influence on the kid without even knowing it. For example, a kid might learn from teachers and parents the attitudes that they have towards work. Also, teachers’ and parents’ manner of dealing with people might influence the kid too.

subtle adj.

3. What are the skills that you want to learn?

Sample answer

Actually there are a lot of skills that I want to learn! I would like to learn a new language other than English as I am always keen on learning new language. Also, I would like to try scuba diving if possible even though this might be a little bitpricy. Besides, I would like to spend more time on sports and would like to learn to play basketball! When I was little, I spent most of my time on study and thus few extracurricular skills were acquired. Now that I am in college, I would like to explore my potential and try anything that I like.

pricy adj.

now that 既然,由于

potential n.

NO.20

“There Is No Gene For The Human Spirit.”

NO.19

“You mustn’t be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.”

NO.18

“Doo-Do-DOO-Do-DUMMM”

NO.17

“I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar.”

NO.16

“Klaatu barada nikto.”

NO.15

“Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship

Enterprise. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds,to seek out

new life and new civilizations,to boldly go where no one has gone before.”

NO.14

“Do… or do not. There is no try.”

NO.13

“Take your stinking paws off me,you damned dirty ape!”

NO.12

“Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need... roads.”

NO.11

“It had been a wonderful evening and what I needed now,to give it a perfect ending, was a little of the Ludwig Van.”

NO.10

“Get away from her,you bitch!”

NO.9

“I’m sorry,Dave. I’m afraid I can’t do that.”

NO.8

“I’ll be back!”

NO.7

“E.T. phone home!”

NO.6

“May the Force be with you.”

NO.5

Henry Wu: “You’re implying that a group composed entirely of female animals will... breed?”

Dr. Ian Malcolm: “No,I’m simply saying that life,uh... finds a way.”

NO.4

Morpheus: “Have you ever had a dream,Neo,that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?”

NO.3

“Because I can’t. I... had an experience... I can’t prove it,I can’t even explain it,but everything that I know as a human being, everything that I am tells me that it was real! I was given something wonderful, something that changed me forever... A vision... of the universe, that tells us,undeniably, how tiny, and insignificant and how... rare, and precious we all are! A vision that tells us that we belong to something that is greater than ourselves, that we are .hat none of us are alone! I wish... I... could share that... I wish, that everyone,if only for one... moment, could feel... that awe,and humility, and hope. But... That continues to be my wish.”

NO.2

“The unknown future rolls toward us. I face it,for the first time, with a sense of hope. Because if a machine,a Terminator, can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too.”

NO.1

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain...Time to die.”

比如很多学生对于雅思口语part2中the film that you would like to watch again的回答都是Titanic,没毛病!

You should say:

what it is

when you first became interested in it

how you will learn about it

and explain why you want to learn more about it.

One of my biggest passions in life is food. I would say I’m not generally a fussy eater and I’m willing to try pretty much anything. I like food from all over the world, whether it’s spicy curries from India or delicious pasta dishes from Italy.

Unfortunately, while I’m very good at eating food, I’m not so great at cooking it! I can cook basic food, but my culinary skills are certainly nothing to write home about. I used to watch my mum cook at home, but not a lot of her talent rubbed off on me. Nevertheless, it sparked my interest in cooking and food in general.

I guess I could learn how be a better cook by reading a recipe book or watching cookery programmes on TV, but to be honest I think I’d be better off going to lessons. Once I’ve picked up the basics I can always try using a book at home, but to start I think I should have a teacher telling me what to do.

One thing I love to be able to do is cook an Indian curry from scratch. The best curries are always cooked without using a jar of sauce, but it requires a lot of different spices and you need to know how to use them.

I think it would be great to be a better cook as cooking can be very therapeutic and relaxing. Besides, everyone loves a good cook and it’s helpful to impress members of the opposite sex!

Describe a photo or painting you like in your home.

You should say:

where and when the photo was taken or painted

which room it is in

what there are in the photo or painting

and explain why you like it.

Actually, I have a few paintings in my home. My girlfriend says it’s beginning to look like an art gallery! I guess you could call me a bit of an art-aholic, though I’m certainly no connoisseur.

By far my favourite piece is a large oil painting on canvas that I picked up on my travels in Bali. I had to roll it up to get it back to China and once I got home I had a bespoke frame made for it. It depicts a tree or plant of some sort, using an array of colours, from deep blues to vivid yellows. The image is very simple, being formed from a number of different coloured dots.

At the moment it is the centerpiece of my living room, takes pride of place on the main wall behind my sofa. There are other pieces of art in there, including some small statues and figurines, but they are eclipsed by the large oil painting, which truly dominates the room. Every guest we have visit passes comment on it, often complimenting its vibrant colours or simple aesthetic beauty.

For me personally, it’s a combination of all the things I have already mentioned. Plus, it reminds me of the places I have been and the things I have experienced on my trips abroad. The memories come flooding back every time l look at my picture. This is the primary reason I collect paintings and the reason I have more works of art than I do wall space!

Describe a piece of good news you heard from TV or the Internet.

You should say:

what the news was about

when you got this news

where you got this news from

and explain why you think it was a good piece of news.

I once read a piece of good news on the website of the New York Times. It was two years ago, I was still a journalism student and one of my tutors assigned me to do a presentation for my news-gathering course. The time limit was five minutes and it was supposed to be a critique, i.e., stating clearly what was good and bad about the story.

So I started preparing for my assignment. I was skimming through pages and clicking around when this article caught my eye. Basically, it was about a high school student who got bullied because he stuttered. The news story was a good one because it wasn’t what I expected it to be — a one-sided story that went on about the poor boy.

This piece was actually rather fair and balanced. It tried to show the readers what had happened to the stutterer and they gave the alleged bullies a chance to give their side of the story. From the journalistic perspective, it was a neat one.

Describe a subject you didn't like before but have interest in now.

You should say:

what it was

when you studied the subject

why you didn't like it before

and explain why you have interest in it now.

Let’s just say, I was far from an angel at school. I guess I wasn’t that bad, but no one would call me a model student. There were a few subjects I really didn’t care for, but mainly it was Chinese.

I’ve obviously studied Chinese throughout my school life, but it was particularly excruciating during senior high-school, so when I was around 11 to 17 years old.

Wow, where do I start? Firstly, our teacher was awful. His name was Mr Zhang and he was a real old fuddy-duddy who would only teach from the textbook and regularly bored us to death. We would have to commit countless things to memory, lots of ancient stuff like poems and chengyu, which are Chinese phrases made from between 3 to 16 characters, although the most common use 4. I couldn’t see a use for these things in modern life, they just didn’t seem practical.

As I got older and more mature, I started to respect Chinese more. I dug out some of my old textbooks and began flicking through them. Second time round they made more sense to me and I engaged with them a lot more.

Nowadays there is a greater interest in Chinese, with a variety of TV shows such as “Chengyu Yingxiong”, which means ‘Chengyu Hero’. These shows celebrate people’s knowledge of characters and in doing so celebrate our culture.

Borrowing or Lending

1. Have you borrowed books from others?

Yes, I used to borrow books in school all the time, especially when online books and digital resources were not so available. Nowadays a lot of my reading materials are online, so I don’t borrow books as often, in fact quite rarely.

2. Have you borrowed money from others?

Yes, I’ve borrowed money on a few occasions from others. I don’t like doing it actually. I don’t like to be in debt and I find it a bit embarrassing, but there are a few occasions I’ve borrowed money – mainly when I’ve forgot my wallet, or lost a bank card or occasions like this.

3. Do you like to lend things to others?

I neither like it nor dislike it! It’s something that I’ve had to do from time to time. It’s important that the person gives back what you’ve lent them, though, so it’s best if the person is a reliable and trustworthy individual. Usually I’ve had fairly positive experiences when I’ve lent things to people.

4. How do you feel when people don’t return things they’ve borrowed from you?

I feel upset, a bit let down and disappointed. Though I can understand if people sometimes forget – it depends what I’ve lent them really, and how much it means to me. Generally there is an unspoken rule that you should return anything someone lends to you, but this doesn’t always happen, of course! So, yeah, I feel usually a bit disappointed and embarrassed to ask them to return it, you know, to remind them.

Maths & Numbers

1. Do you like Math?

Well I wouldn’t say I actually ‘like’ or ‘dislike’ math but I didn’t really enjoy it as a school subject that much. I found it a bit boring but maybe that was more to do with the teachers than the subject itself. I wouldn’t say that math was one of my favourite subjects at school.

2. Were you good at math at school?

I wasn’t great but I wasn’t bad, I think I was just ‘bang average’. I never got really high scores but I never failed a math exam, I know that some people are naturally gifted when it comes to math but I’m not one of them. I used to struggle a bit with the really complex math questions in exams, especially things like algebra.

3. Why do some people think that nowadays math isn’t needed in our daily life?

I think some people have this attitude because now we all carry mobile phones around and these always have calculators on them. Personally I think it’s rather na?ve to say that we don’t need math because we do need basic arithmetic in our lives when we go shopping, when we work out if something is a good deal and so on.

4. Do you think females are good at math?

Unfortunately, most girls have a tough time coping with math right from their first grade. I’ve heard so many girls complain that they have no idea what’s going on and have a difficult time understanding the teachers. And the worst part is, once you fall behind, you can’t find a way to catch up.

5. Do you think math is important as a school subject?

I think math is still quite a relevant subject. It helps us have better problem-solving skills and gives us the ability to think analytically and have better reasoning abilities. So yeah I think it’s quite important to have a solid foundation in math.

6. Who taught you math?

If I remember clearly, the first person who taught me math was my grandfather. We used to sit in his garden counting beans and peas as we collected them. He used to tell me stories about when he was a little boy and how he used to count beans and peas with his grandfather. I guess that’s a tradition we have managed to maintain.

7. Do you often use a calculator?

Sure. Calculators assist in accuracy. Because they can help reduce algorithm errors, even if you are excellent at math. Also they save us a lot of energy because they reduce our mental strain!

8. When did you start learning math?

Well, I must have been very young and I can’t really remember the exact age. However, I think when I was 3 or 4. According to my mother and the many stories she has told me when I was a baby, I have always loved numbers and I was able to count to 20 from a very young age.

A time you had good experience in the countryside

Describe a time you had good experience in the countryside

You should say:

Where you went

What you did

When you did it

Who you went with

And explain why it was enjoyable?

Well, this topic actually reminds me of last week when I went to visit my grandparents in the countryside. You know, my parents and I would go visit my grandparents every weekend possible, it’s kind of our tradition. That’s when I meet up with my family and see my cousins because we live in different cities. As I’m much older than my other cousins, sometimes it’s quite awkward to spend time with them. We don’t have much to talk about. Last week, everyone was going out, but my 5-year-old cousin and I didn’t wanna tag along, so my aunt asked me to babysit him. At first it was weird because I’ve never babysat anyone, plus, I’m not really good with kids. However, my cousin started talking to me about what happens in his kindergarden and how he likes this girl in his class. He was like, “I like her a lot, but she prefer toplay with some other boy in my class, what do I do?”. To be honest, I didn’t think a 5-year-old would even think about this kinda stuff. He was totally talking to me like a grown-up and actually asking for my advice. Then we went out for a walk. You can’t imagine how spectacular the view is in my grandparents’ village during spring time! There was a large field ofblooming flowers, gently swayed back and forth as the wind breezed, all of which really brightened up myday! My little cousin wouldn’t stop singing as we were walking along the field. This experience completely changed my view of children. I used to think they are all noisy and loud, but after spending time with my cousin, I realised not every child is like that and I really enjoyed this experience as I got to know about my cousin more. That’s all, thank you.

Part 1

1. Like it and not like it经典口语题

E.g. What is your major? Why did you choose this major? Do you like it and why?

Like it and not like it,很多考生会无从下手,记住大家可以从以下三个方面来回答:

1)Interest. (internal factor)

I have huge interest in ….since I was a little kid.(—Maybe in my six years old.)

2)Expectation from others (external factor)

Being encouraged/motivated by (eg. Parents or grandparents) since I was a little kid.(—Maybe in my six years old.)

Another reason maybe a bit realistic, you know. It is profitable/ promising/ lucrative.

Part 2

Describe an old person you respect

You should say:

l Who he/she is

l How you know this person

l What kinds of things you like to do together

l and explain how you feel about this person

? When it comes to the one I respect the most, I’d like to talk about my dear grandfather, a seventy - year - old man.

? To be honest, I don’t remember when I knew him, probably the moment when I was born. But I know a lot about him indeed. My grandpa has a very kind smile which always gives me great comfort and encouragement especially when I am depressed. my grandfather teaches me a lot. He often tells me to be brave and dare to bear the responsibility.

? In terms of what we’d like to do together, I think it is to turn “waste” into wealth. My grandpa can always find a suitable place for the “junk”. He often teaches me how to give in and put the “junk” in its suitable place. My grandpa has helped me to develop a habit of preserving everything, everything he thinks is useful, everything goes where it should go. Surprisingly, all these “junk” can always find their position and function fairly well(相当好地),holding small things or optimizing my bicycle so that it can operate better……

? And another thing is that my grandpa always sits next to me and tells a lot of interesting stories. It seems he always has many stories attracting me. So we are more like a pair of good friends. This is my grandfather, the one I respect the most. I love him.

When it comes to, for ,in terms of等这些。

Part 3

What kind of activities do old people like to do these days?

As for the activities the old are keen on, there are a variety of entertainments(总的概括来一句). What I want to mention firstly is doing the morning exercises and taking a walk after dinner. You know, the square dancing is so hot now. Almost every women and men of the age between 40 to 60 years old enjoy it. Secondly, old people tend to travelling. It is well-known that they have already retired, so they can take advantage of the time to travel to different places. Talking about my grandpa, he travels a great deal as did most of his friends, knowing more about each local conditions and customs, to enrich himself.

Practice makes perfect!

(1)Nevertheless/but/however 尽管如此,但是

Example: There is little chance that we will succeed. Nevertheless/but/however, it is important that we try.

(2)Mind you 不过

Example: I don’t like the job. But mind you/still, the money’s ok.

In spite of / despite

Example: The train was an hour late. In spite of this, I managed to get to the meeting in time.

(1)I mean

Example: The party was so boring. I mean, they all sat around and talked about football/shoes.

(2)Actually

Example: The food in that restaurant was not all that experience. Actually, some were even cheaper than those all street side stalls.

(3)That is to say, in other words

Example: I can’t continue working with you. That is to say / in other words, unless you do something about your laziness, I will have to team up with someone else.

Moreover, furthermore, in addition, as well as that, what is more/worse, besides, on top of that, another thing is…

Example: She borrowed my bike and never give it back. As well as that/ on top of that/ what’s more/ what's worse, she broke the microscope in our lab and pretended she hadn’t.

(1)On the whole, in general, in all/most/many/some cases, broadly speaking, by and large, to a great extent, to some extent

(2)By and large

Example: By and large, Chinese people are peace-loving, law-abiding citizens.

(3)To a great extent

Example: To a great extent, a person’s character is formed in their early childhood.

(1)Apart/aside from

Example: Apart/Aside from the final track, all of the songs on the album were written by her.

(2)With the exception of

Example: With the exception of the final track, this album is a huge disappointment.

Don't

1.1. Listen to yourself.

1.2. Slow down!

1.3. Picture it...

1.4. Get physical!

你发this, thank, they,和little, wool等单词困难吗?

1.5. Watch yourself.

1.6. Copy the experts.

1.7. Practice makes perfect.

1.8. Find a language buddy.

1.9. Be poetic.

1.10. Sing a song!

2.1 Don’t tend to memorize answers

2.2 Do not cater to the examiner

2.3 Don’t make too many mistakes.

2.4 Don’t show many problems in your grammer.

2.5 Don’t keep silent.

1. This is a tough question. I have never heard about it, nor have I ever read about it (倒装句丰富句型).

2. Give me a few seconds for me to search every piece of information in my head now.

3. It is an abstract question. I know little about it.

4. Are you asking me something about+你重复一下句子中的关键词…?

5. Have I given enough information? It would be great if you could give me more.

6. Am I making myself clear?

7. Now you want me to talk about it. But I don't have too much to say.

8. Give me a few seconds for me to organize my thought a little bit.

Could you please paraphrase (转述)that question/topic?

I’m not exactly sure what you mean +

I’m not exactly sure how to answer that question, but (perhaps+

That’s rather difficult question, but I wonder if could give me more information about that.

I’m sorry, but I don’t know much about…

2.7 Don't worry your accent so much.

2.8 Don't be too nervous.

2.9 Don’t be late.

SPARE TIME

55. What do you usually do in your spare time? ( 5 - 6 )

55. What are your spare time interests? ( 5 - 6 )

As a matter of fact, I have very few spare times these days. My studies are so important to me that I have given up all my other activities. I used to love playing tennis, but now I simply do not have the time.

55. What do you usually do in your spare time? ( 7 - 8 )

55. What are your spare time interests? ( 7 - 8 )

Well, these days, surfing on the Internet has been my only interest in leisure time. I have just bought my first computer, and love to look for exciting web sites that I have not known before. Moreover, by means of web cameras I am able to watch what wild animals are doing in many parts of the world. I particularly like to watch the polar bears playing with their cubs. Surfing on the Internet is of course very time consuming, so I don’t really have time for anything else.

56. Do you often watch TV? What is your favorite program? ( 5 - 8 )

Yes, I often watch TV. My favorite program is called ‘Discovery’. It is not a science fiction but a documentary on real life events and happenings. For example, it had a program on the latest eclipse of the sun that occurred at the end of the year. The program also talks about nature. Last week it explained how some birds have adapted themselves to survive in a desert.

57. Do you think watching TV is a waste of time? ( 5 - 8 )

No, I don’t think so. We can learn a lot from watching TV and it is a good way to relax. Soap operas help me to relax, while the documentaries are informative. Lastly, I believe that TV has become the best source of information these days. For example, it is a fast and convenient way to find out about the latest news from all over the world.

1.Describe a restaurant where you often go to

You should say:

what the restaurant is

where it is

why you often go there

and explain what is special about this restaurant.

2.Describe a shopping mall that you often go to

You should say:

what it is called

where it is

what is special about it

and explain why you like to go there.

1.Variety

2.Price

3.Service

4.Environment/atmosphere

What is your favorite sport? ( 5 - 6 )

My favorite sport is basketball. Please allow me to explain. Firstly, it is very healthy for a young person like myself. For example, it will help to develop the muscles in my body. Secondly, it can be played outdoors, which means that I am able to breathe a lot of fresh air while I am playing. Lastly, it is not a contact sport. What I mean is that the chances of getting injured are not great.

What is your favorite sport? ( 7 - 8 )

My favorite sport is table tennis, also known as ping-pong. Please allow me to explain. Firstly, it is very healthy for a young person like myself. For example, it will help to develop my reflexes. Secondly, it is an indoor sport. What I mean to say is that we are able to play it irrespective of the weather conditions. In my hometown, this is important because of the long winters. Thirdly, the equipment needed to play table tennis is inexpensive. For instance, you can use any table of a reasonable size. Al you then need is a ball, two bats, and a net. Lastly, table tennis is a sociable sport. That is to say, two or four people can play at one time, while a number of spectators can enjoy the game as well.

Do men and woman prefer the same sports? ( 5 - 8 )

That’s an interesting question. Allow me to explain my personal views by shortly mentioning the following points: Firstly, there are few sports in which woman do not participate these days. For example, the woman’s football team from China did well in the Woman’s World Cup held in Germany recently.

What sports are played in your country? ( 5 - 8 )

There are many sports played in China. Allow me to mention a few examples. Basketball and football is played mainly by the younger generation. Football is popular amongst Chinese ladies. We have a strong national team who has done well in the recent World Cup. All age groups play table tennis, better known as ping-pong. Because it is an indoor sport, it is particularly popular in winter. Because of their relatively small physique, Chinese people play the so-called small-ball games like badminton well. Swimming, skating, and volleyball are popular as well.

What is the most popular sport in your country? ( 5 - 8 )

That’s a tough question. Allow me to explain my personal views by shortly mentioning the following points: Firstly, I believe football is the most popular sport. For example, all the big stadiums in our country are football stadiums. Secondly, the majority of youngsters are interested in the sport. For example, during the recent World Cup held in Japan and Korea, many in China followed the competition closely.

What is the most popular sport in your country? ( 5 - 8 )

Table tennis is extremely popular in China. That is to say, many people of all ages like to play it. China is often regarded as the world champions. For example, we often win a number of medals in this sport at the Olympic Games.

What are the sporting facilities like in your region? ( 5 - 8 )

That’s a good question. Allow me to explain my personal views by shortly mentioning the following points: Firstly, I suppose the sporting facilities are acceptable. For example, we are able to play any sport that we like. The problem is that the facilities are not available to everyone. At the moment many of the facilities are owned by universities and are available only to the students of that particular university only. Lastly, I believe the fact that the Olympic games are being held in China in will help to solve the problem to some extent. For example, the government will have to build many new stadiums and facilities in the next six years. Hopefully after the games, these new facilities will become available to the general public.

What other sporting facilities would you like to see in your region? ( 5 - 8 )

Firstly, I would like to see more baseball courts that are open to the general public. For example, at the moment many of the courts are owned by universities and are available only to the students of that particular university. Secondly, I believe more youth centers should be built in our cities. This would help in getting young people to engage in physically healthy activities, and not sit in front of computers and TV’s all day long.

A healthy lifestyle is something we all talk about but only a few of us follow the rules to maintain it. I thank you for this wonderful topic and would like to talk about the importance of a balanced diet for having a healthy lifestyle.

It is often said that 'what we eat defines what we become'. It is indeed true and in my opinion, healthy living greatly depends on someone's eating habit. Having a balanced diet means eating a wide variety of foods in the right proportions, and consuming the right amount of food and drink to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight.

A healthy lifestyle is a combination of a sober and prudent living style with the soundness of body and mind. Both physical and psychological well-being is important in order to have a healthy lifestyle. It does not depend on someone's economic status or geographic location. Rather it is the willingness to lead a good life with some fundamental good habits.

A balanced diet has a paramount importance to remain fit both physically and psychologically. Biologically, a person is a living organism who needs food to survive like any other living organism on this planet. As a superior creature, we have plenty of food items to choose from and in a way, this has made our food habit quite complex. Fast food, for example, in no way a good choice for us and yet we have become dependant on it. Obesity, for instance, is rare among people who have a good eating habit. Overweight has become one of the reasons people these days suffer from various diseases. Scientific research has proven that more than 30 percent health-related complexities could be avoided by having a good eating habit.

The modern era is highly competitive and we are so busy these days than the past generations. However, this does not mean that we should not be aware of our health. We have got only one chance to live and some easy-to-follow rules like following a balanced diet, regular exercise, maintaining personal hygiene etc. can make a huge difference.

A sound mind lies on a sound body and a body needs calories to properly function. As an intelligent species, we should not act foolishly. We should provide our body with the right combination of food that provides necessary vitamins and calories to remain healthy - not more, not less and nothing harmful to our body and mind.

In terms of the occasion that I received a good service, I would like to share with you my experience in the restaurant called Hai Di Lao, one of the most famous hot pot chain store brands in China. I’ve long heard of the brand name but never got the chance to have a try until last month. When my birthday came, I enjoy the ho官方真题Officialt in the center of city, a newly opened one. I went there with my family members, altogether 8 people.

Actually, I went there half an hour in advance to avoid the long queue. When the time I arrived at the destination, there were many people waiting outside. When my father came, holding a birthday cake in his hands, the waiter came and invited us to come in and enjoy the ho官方真题Officialt. I was surprised coz it was not our turn. 最新5-8月雅思口语Part2话题范文:a meal you would like to have

You should say:

where you want to eat

what you want to eat

who you want to share it with

and explain why you want to have this meal

I'd like to have a really serious try on a food called ASADO, which is the most traditional and popular meal in Argentina.

Asado can be translated as “barbecue” and an asado meal normally consists of beef, chicken, and several animal organs. Asado can be prepared in different ways, but my favorite is charcoal-grilled because it gives the meats a special wood-burning flavor. What's more, a well-prepared asado allows consumers to taste the tenderness and juiciness of the meats. Since I have always been a meat lover, asado has naturally become my favorite meal.

As I said, asado is the most popular meal in Argentina, and basically every tourist traveling to Argentina wants to try it at least once during their visit. Short ribs are considered the main dish in an asado meal, and that's why it is the most commonly consumed part of the cow in Argentina. An asado meal is commonly served with fresh salad and some traditional spices and condiments.

Because of the high costs of the meats nowadays, asado is only served in special events such as birthdays, anniversaries, or important holidays like Christmas or the New Year. In my case, the last time I had asado was when my wife and I invited a bunch of Taiwanese friends to our housewarming party and I wanted to let them have a taste at this traditional South American meal. To my delight, the asado I prepared come out perfect; it was neither undercooked nor overcooked, it was just right and the meats were so flavorful, juicy and tender.

All in all, I would say that asado is perfect for gatherings between family and friends. People not only can enjoy and taste a wide variety of barbecued foods but also have a great time together.

最新5-8月雅思口语Part2话题范文:a well-paid job you would like to do

You should say:

What the job is

How you came to know about it

What kind of people can do this job

And explain why you like this job

I’m confident that I would be an excellent programmer with decent payment in the future.

I’m a complete technophile, I’ve always been fascinated by technological stuff like computers, Internet, smart phones, especially apps and software.

The modern world is made up of various programs. It’s fair to say everything in every aspect of our lives has been computerized to some extent. It’s already become an indispensible part of our daily life.

It’s not my major in college, but as a computer nut, I fancy myself as a self-taught expert. And I’m a quick study, I bought self-study materials and watch tutorials online, and I just got the hang of it pretty soon. And now I’ve had a good command of the knowledge needed to be a qualified programmer.

And I know for a fact that all the programmers are well paid. The demand is high for this job, I mean, our society needs people like us to create something new and entertaining, to facilitate people’s daily life and bring more joy and recreational activities for people.

I know many people who have changed their major and started to work in this area. So it’s fair to say it’s a promising career with great job prospects.

Describe a bicycle trip

When

Where

Who you are with

And explain why it is impressive

I’d like to describe a travelling idea that I think would make an awesome experience. It’s a motorbike trip to Tam Dao, a town of Vinh Phu province, which has become an attractive place for Hanoi residents to visit at weekends and during holidays. Tam Dao, also known as Da Lat of the North due to its cool weather around the year, is not far from Hanoi. It’s just 70 kilometers away from our capital city, so I think it’d be sensible to travel there by motorbike.

I think it’d be an ideal trip if we had a small group of 4 or 5 members, who all knew each other well, as travelling companions. We would need to share a lot of common interests as well as characteristics, you know, so the experience would be more laidback, fun and memorable, in my opinion.

There are several reasons why I prefer travelling by motorbike rather than by car, but most of all, I wouldn’t want to miss the breathtaking scenery along the way. Moreover, my travelling timeline would be more flexible if I went there by motorbike, as I wouldn’t have to worry about being stuck in traffic jams. Last but not least, I think it would be a way to make the trip somehow more challenging and interesting, so we would have more things to recall afterwards

②Give a full answer完整地回答

⑧Keep a steady pace

⑩Stay on topic 紧扣话题

?Don't use slang

?Don’t memorize answers

1. At what age are people considered to be “old” in China?

That is really a big question. People’s views much be divided on this. From my perspective, …

The easiest way to divide the old from all is to judge according to the chronological age. In the past, people over 70s are considered to be old, but this line has been shifted gradually with the time goes by, because people nowadays live much longer than before. Many older people can still make great contribution to the society, so broadly speaking, I think, those over 80s, or those who are no longer physically capable can be regarded as just entering the twilight life.

The biological age has no longer been the only judgment, because the real psychological age and the physical fitness differ from person to person, and they seem to be more important for others to decide whether the person is qualified as “old” or not.

Broadly speaking, when people are over their 50s, they will gradually feel that they are getting older. Indeed, the physical and mental condition do decrease year by year, with a higher possibility of suffering from diseases and less tolerant and acceptable to different opinions and new ideas.

I firmly believe that being “old” is simply connected with the state of mind. If one loses passion for life, they are indeed becoming old. This is why, in China, we tend to describe someone who show very little enthusiasm to life as an old bookish man.

2. Why do old people today live longer than in the past?

The advance in medical service means that more diseases become curable and can be easily diagnosed at an early age. Senile diseases such as diabetes and hypertension are less common among the older pensioner and most of them can even live very long with the illness being uncured permanently.

Food nutrition has also been largely improved, not only because of the development in farming skills but also because of the fertilizers that are used to ensure a higher proportion of diverse types of vitamins being reserved during the planting process within a less time period.

Another important factor is the widespread scientific reports that emphasize the positive effects of regular exercise on people’s physical fitness, so most of the modern people become more aware of the importance of doing sports and many older people, with more time available after retirement, participate actively in various sorts of sports.

Besides, regular health check has been required by most companies nowadays in China and younger people also arrange this activity for their aging parents. It is now fair to say that many potential health hazards can be easily found in advance and therefore be avoided eventually.

More attention has been paid for the aging society, so government and private charity groups have set up many nursing house and other accessible facilities for the senior citizens, which means generally, a higher living standard can be expected and people then live much longer under a better welfare system.

3. What are some things a person can do to help them live longer?

多运动

An obvious answer is to take part in more outdoor activities because it can enhance the immune system and further build up the physical fitness. Especially in an outdoor atmosphere, we can breathe more fresh air and speed up the process of metabolism.

Regular health check should be taken on a, at least, yearly basis. So that diseases can be found well before it poses any threat to our body and our mind.

Also, I would suggest people to frequently talk to their friends and family members, particularly on the occasion of feeling stressful or facing difficulties. By expressing one’s emotion feely, one can actually easily release the negative emotion and find hope in life, which seems to be more important than just being healthy physically.

Even though the modern life has set higher demand for most people, in order to live longer, people should constantly adjust their goals to keep pace with their ability at the time. Pushing oneself too much is definitely detrimental to the expansion of longevity.

In any stage of one’s life, people should choose to participate in the things that interest them most instead of those impose heavy mental pressure and make them hopeless all the time.

A simple solution could be the reduction of TV time and Internet addiction and to spend more time on reading books or other mentally healthy activities, such as playing chess or listening to the music.

4. Are the attitudes of young people today towards old people the same as they used to be, years ago?

I personally didn't see any change in recent decade. Younger people are still very respectful and willing to talk and receive suggestions from the older ones.

As for me, I usually believe that the elderly are more vulnerable than the younger people, so I’m always willing to help them and I think this attitude is shared by most youngsters.

Unfortunately, we become less respectful of the older people, and almost indifferent to their request. For example, when an older person fall down on the street, very few people, especially the youth, will step up and give a hand immediately, because we worry about being defrauded of money by them, since similar occasions did happen in the past when some unlawful old people commit crime like this.

In previous time, we believe that older people have very rich experience, but the world is changing too fast. The wisdom they have become less practical in the modern-day society. So we are less likely to rely on them.

Some of the older generation are indeed more conservative, so younger people, who are interested in making changes and trying new things, are not very much willing to spend time with the aged.

Generally, it depends on the personality of each individual. Some may only want to communicate with people in similar age, others value the intrinsic character more, rather than the age.

Music

1. What kinds of music are suitable for children? Why?

idea:欢快活泼(upbeat/cheerful/lively),朗朗上口的(catchy)旋律

reason:这样的旋律学起来很容易,也让孩子们开心(cheer them up),他们可以快乐地跟着音乐唱跳(sing/dance to the music)

reason:歌词很生动(vivid),有画面感(have pictures/images in mind),更容易吸引孩子们的注意力(draw their attention),并引起他们共鸣(relate to)

sample answer:

Well, I’m no expert on this, but I suppose one of the most important thing is the melody should be upbeat and catchy. Kids are always happy, so naturally they’d love music that cheers them up. On top of that, most children can’t handle complicated melody, what they need is something simple and memorable, so they can sing and dance to it easily and happily. Another thing I guess is the lyrics should be about subjects children can relate to. For example, the little ones normally adore songs about animals.

I’m no expert on this.

2. Do you think people’s tastes in music will change as they get older?

reason:人的一生有机会接触到(get exposed to)不同的音乐类型(music genres),然后就会喜欢上(fall in love with)一种新的音乐;又或者是跟个性特点(characteristics/personal traits)有关,年轻人精力充沛(energetic/enthusiastic),喜欢追求刺激(look for thrill/excitement),因此更容易跟动感的(dynamic)流行音乐产生共鸣,而随着年纪和经历(life experience)的增长,很多人的个性变得温和沉稳(calm),这样的心态更容易接受古典音乐(classical music)或者交响乐(symphony)这样的类型

sample answer:

Well, I think my answer is yes and no. On the one hand, people have lots of chances to get exposed to different types of music at different stages of life, so it’s very likely that they will find something that fascinates them, and their tastes in music will change. On the other hand, people just love what they liked in their youth, and his/her passion for a certain genre just never fades. Take my uncle for example, he’s been a diehard Jazz fan all his life. He just can’t get enough of it.

3. Has Chinese music been influenced by western music?

sample answer:

Yeah, definitely! It’s almost impossible to not get influenced, thanks to globalization, and I think it’s fair to say that pop music in particular has learned the most from western music. There are so many truly talented musicians in western countries, and they have inspired Chinese musicians tremendously. Nowadays you can see lots of western elements added into our pop songs. For example, rap is all the age these days in my country, and the younger generation just love it. They think it’s cool and fun.

all the rage,大行其道,很受欢迎

4. Shopping malls and shops often play background music. Can you suggest why they do that?

这是重要的营销手段(marketing tool),而且非常有效(effective)-音乐是很有力量的(powerful and magical),可以影响人们的心情(have an effect on/affect people’ mood)-像是快节奏歌曲(fast-tempo songs)能让人振作起精神(lift someone’s spirit),甚至听到以后会开心起来(put someone in a good mood)-音乐营造了(create)很好的一个氛围(an inviting atmosphere),顾客在店里会感到放松(chilled out)快乐-这样的心态下, 人们就更愿意(be willing to do)呆在店里,多试(try out)几套衣服(outfits)然后买走(pay for)

sample answer:

The way I see it, it’s just one of the marketing tools that business people use to boost sales, and I must say it’s pretty effective. We all know that music is powerful and magical. For instance, fast-tempo music has the ability to lift our spirits and put us in a very good mood. I mean, the music creates an inviting atmosphere in the malls or shops, which makes customers feel chilled out and happy. Then people are willing to stay for a little bit longer, try out different outfits and then pay for them eventually.

Don't confess your English is poor.

My name is……My English is not very good.

Don't pretend you understand the questions when you don't.

Sorry, what was that? I'm sorry?

Q:Do you enjoy singing?

A:Singing? Well, I'm not very keen on singing, but I do like listening to music.

well, actually, you see, you know what等都是英语中最常用的停顿表达方法。

雅思口语提分技巧一Develop answers by offering detailed information.

Don't panic if you've made a mistake.

题库中现在在考得describe a person you want to spend time with,我们用老年人或者朋友都可以。

地点题,建议大家必备类型为,describe a house/apartment(描述一个房子),describe a city(描述一个城市),describe a garden(描述一个花园),describe a restaurant(描述一个餐厅)。选择准备的为describe a country(描述一个国家)。

1. Good service 2. Convenient location 3. Economical/ have a reasonable price 4. Comfortable environment and atmosphere等。描述花园一题,可以用于describe a peaceful place,describe a place near water甚至做一些改变,就可以用于describe a tourist attraction一题当中。

最后一个月我才开始着手准备雅思口语。其实连着跟读了两个月,很多东西都会自然而然地记在脑子里。很多句式和单词,都是考口语的时候可以用到的。这次口语我直接购买了趴兔雅思的口语素材,直接百度或者某宝搜索就好了;可以在手机上看,很方便,难易程度是自己选的,我特意选了适合我这个level的;最重要的是,蹲点的题目都是上面的,哈哈哈,不要太开心,我专门选了一些针对我考场的话题,提前准备好了答案,然后再结合我前两个月的学习,在考场上再也没有怯场,很顺畅的就回答出了考官的问题;
