基本句型一:S+V(主+谓)
基本句型二:S+V+P(主+谓+表)
基本句型三:S+V+O(主+谓+宾)
基本句型四:S+V+o+O(主+谓+间宾+直宾)
基本句型五:S+V+O+C(主+谓+宾+宾补)
Topic sentence:To begin with, this practice can reduce citizen‘s living costs, thereby enhancing their quality of life。
原因:Once public transport is free to public, people who ride them to work can save a significant proportion of weekly expense。
结果:As a consequence of that, the saved money can be used for other purposes, such as food and leisure activities,to promote the quality of life。

Surveys show that more people get the news by watching television than by reading the newspaper. Think about whether TV news shows are adequate as a person's only source of news. Write an essay of about 250 words that details your thoughts.
Television news shows are dramatic and interesting. Watching them is pleasant and does not require the effort of reading. If television did not cover the news, some people would know nothing about what is going on in the world.
However, television newscasters cover only the events that they have time for, and they prefer stories that include some dramatic pictures. Viewers are quickly bored with reporters who sit and talk into the camera. As a result, a complicated story is often cut short.
Newspapers and magazines do a better job of explaining complex events. They can include details, and a person with a special interest can take the time to read them. Others can stick to the headlines.
Reading allows more freedom of choice than television. The TV audience cannot decide which stories to watch. In broadcasting, “one size fits all”. However, a person who reads newspapers and magazines can choose to spend time on business, sports, health, or the school board election, depending on special interests.
Television provides a useful glance at what's happening. However, a person who has individual interests and who wants the whole story needs newspapers and magazines as well.
Happiness is considered very important in our life. Why it is difficult to define? What factors are in achieving happiness?
范文:It has been widely noted that happiness is very important to our life. However, what is happiness? It seems difficult to define, for different people have different ideas. Some people are brought up that most important thing in their life. They obtain happiness from seeking fame and profit. Other people are in pursuit of mental edification. They serve people heart and soul and find happiness from it.
In my view, according to philosophy, everything is in process of development including happiness. We spare no effort to achieve our goal and obtain happiness from success. However, after that we have another new aim to achieve. There is no limit to gaining lasting happiness.
Then how to obtain happiness? I think true happiness can be got in the following ways:
In the first instance, true happiness comes from hard work. A student is very happy when he has gotten high score in his examinations. His happiness is the result of his hard and patient study. Thus, happiness abounds in hard work.
Secondly, happiness is rooted in optimistic attitude. In our daily life, we should face a lot of problems, which may lead to setbacks. If these defeatist sentiments seize us, happiness will be far away from us. The only way is right attitude and sparing no effort to overcome it then you can find happiness.
Last but not least, happiness comes from frugality. Many example display people spending money wastefully for satisfaction of their desires may suffer from poverty in the long run. So living a simple and content life makes one happy and cheerful.
All in all, happiness is very important to our life. The good method to find happiness is making our mentalityand physicality both strong.
目要求中会指出它来自原文的哪些段落,如complete the summary below of the first two paragraphs of the reading passage。
中选词或自己写词的题目要求中没有from the reading passage 的字样,有时会有using the information in the passage 的字样。
a. 原词
一些比较生僻的词如sustainable(可持续的)、biodegradable(可生物降解的)、contaminants(废物,杂物)、nostrils(鼻孔)都是一些题目的答案。
+ , many + , + is/does , prep +
形容词:be + , a/an + + n.
A and B用A定位,A与B是并列关系,在结构和词性上相同。
题中:a. + adj. + n.
文中:n. + is. + adj.
n. + which is + adj.
原文为advances in the technology,答案不可能是technology advances。
(3) 语态变化:原文为governments have encouraged waste paper collection and sorting schemes,是主动语态。摘要中的句子为people have also been encouraged by government to collect their waste on a regular basis,是被动语态。
Dear Malia and Sasha,
I know that you‘ve both had a lot of fun these last two years on the campaign trail, going to picnics and parades and state fairs, eating all sorts of junk food your mother and I probably shouldn’t have let you have. But I also know that it hasn‘t always been easy for you and Mom, and that as excited as you both are about that new puppy, it doesn’t make up for all the time we‘ve been apart. I know how much I’ve missed these past two years, and today I want to tell you a little more about why I decided to take our family on this journey.
When I was a young man, I thought life was all about me-about how I‘d make my way in the world, become successful, and get the things I want. But then the two of you came into my world with all your curiosity and mischief and those smiles that never fail to fill my heart and light up my day. And suddenly, all my big plans for myself didn’t seem so important anymore. I soon found that the greatest joy in my life was the joy I saw in yours. And I realized that my own life wouldn‘t count for much unless I was able to ensure that you had every opportunity for happiness and fulfillment in yours. In the end, girls, that’s why I ran for President: because of what I want for you and for every child in this nation.
I want all our children to go to schools worthy of their potential-schools that challenge them, inspire them, and instill in them a sense of wonder about the world around them. I want them to have the chance to go to college-even if their parents aren‘t rich. And I want them to get good jobs: jobs that pay well and give them benefits like health care, jobs that let them spend time with their own kids and retire with dignity.
I want us to push the boundaries of discovery so that you’ll live to see new technologies and inventions that improve our lives and make our planet cleaner and safer. And I want us to push our own human boundaries to reach beyond the divides of race and region, gender and religion that keep us from seeing the best in each other.
Sometimes we have to send our young men and women into war and other dangerous situations to protect our country-but when we do, I want to make sure that it is only for a very good reason, that we try our best to settle our differences with others peacefully, and that we do everything possible to keep our servicemen and women safe. And I want every child to understand that the blessings these brave Americans fight for are not free-that with the great privilege of being a citizen of this nation comes great responsibility.
That was the lesson your grandmother tried to teach me when I was your age, reading me the opening lines of the Declaration of Independence and telling me about the men and women who marched for equality because they believed those words put to paper two centuries ago should mean something
She helped me understand that America is great not because it is perfect but because it can always be made better-and that the unfinished work of perfecting our union falls to each of us. It‘s a charge we pass on to our children, coming closer with each new generation to what we know America should be.
I hope both of you will take up that work, righting the wrongs that you see and working to give others the chances you’ve had. Not just because you have an obligation to give something back to this country that has given our family so much-although you do have that obligation. But because you have an obligation to yourself. Because it is only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you will realize your true potential.
These are the things I want for you-to grow up in a world with no limits on your dreams and no achievements beyond your reach, and to grow into compassionate, committed women who will help build that world. And I want every child to have the same chances to learn and dream and grow and thrive that you girls have. That‘s why I’ve taken our family on this great adventure.
I am so proud of both of you. I love you more than you can ever know. And I am grateful every day for your patience, poise, grace, and humor as we prepare to start our new life together in the White House.
I’m fine. Thank you! 或者I’m fine, and you? 最不应该的是上课老师提问,你组织了半分钟的语言正想回答然后老师说:“I don’t want to put you in the spot. Let’s move to the next.”

Match each exhibit with the collection types。
The writer quotes from the Worldwide Fund for Nature to illustrate howA influential the mass media can beB effective environmental groups can beC the mass media can help groups raise fundsD environmental groups can exaggerate their claims定位词肯定是大写的Worldwide Fund for Nature。 In , for example, the Worldwide Fund for Nature issued a press release entitled: “Two thirds of the world’s forests lost forever.” The truth turns out to be nearer 20%。 Understandably, perhaps, they sometimes overstate their arguments。
Matching Tempos
Research shows that people change the speed at which they speak to more closely match speech they have just heard. They don’t imitate each other exactly, but they get sort of pulled in one direction or another, depending on whether a person speaks slowly or quickly.
Scientists say that while it makes sense that musicians adapt their tempos, being that they are trained to do so, it’s not clear why speakers do it. After all, we don’t have to speak at the same tempo in order to understand each other.
What’s more is that when asked to repeat a sentence they heard from a recording, the subjects in this research inserted pauses in the same places where the recording they heard inserted pauses. They did this without being directed to mimictempo or pauses.
In order to better understand these findings and to test them out in real interactions, scientists intend to study unscripted, casual conversation.
How to increase sales
From The Economist print edition
How shops can exploit people's herd mentality to increase sales
1.A TRIP to the supermarket may not seem like an exercise in psychological warfare—but it is.Shopkeepers know that filling a store with the aroma of freshly baked bread makes people feel hungry and persuades them to buy more food than they had intended.Stocking the most expensive products at eye level makes them sell faster than cheaper but less visible competitors. Now researchers are investigating how “swarm intelligence” (that is,how ants, bees or any social animal, including humans, behave in a crowd) can be used to influence what people buy.
2.At a recent conference on the simulation of adaptive behaviour in Rome,Zeeshan-ul-hassan Usmani,a computer scientist from the Florida Institute of Technology, described a new way to increase impulse buying using this phenomenon.Supermarkets already encourage shoppers to buy things they did not realise they wanted: for instance,by placing everyday items such as milk and eggs at the back of the store, forcing shoppers to walk past other tempting goods to reach them.Mr Usmani and Ronaldo Menezes, also of the Florida Institute of Technology, set out to enhance this tendency to buy more by playing on the herd instinct. The idea is that,if a certain product is seen to be popular, shoppers are likely to choose it too.The challenge is to keep customers informed about what others are buying.
3.Enter smart-cart technology. In Mr Usmani's supermarket every product has a radio frequency identification tag,a sort of barcode that uses radio waves to transmit information, and every trolley has a scanner that reads this information and relays it to a central computer. As a customer walks past a shelf of goods,a screen on the shelf tells him how many people currently in the shop have chosen that particular product. If the number is high,he is more likely to select it too.
4.Mr Usmani's “swarm-moves” model appeals to supermarkets because it increases sales without the need to give people discounts. And it gives shoppers the satisfaction of knowing that they bought the “right” product—that is,the one everyone else bought. The model has not yet been tested widely in the real world, mainly because radio frequency identification technology is new and has only been installed experimentally in some supermarkets. But Mr Usmani says that both Wal-Mart in America and Tesco in Britain are interested in his work, and testing will get under way in the spring.
5.Another recent study on the power of social influence indicates that sales could, indeed,be boosted in this way.Matthew Salganik of Columbia University in New York and his colleagues have described creating an artificial music market in which some 14,000 people downloaded previously unknown songs. The researchers found that when people could see the songs ranked by how many times they had been downloaded, they followed the crowd. When the songs were not ordered by rank, but the number of times they had been downloaded was displayed, the effect of social influence was still there but was less pronounced.People thus follow the herd when it is easy for them to do so.
6.In Japan a chain of convenience shops called RanKing RanQueen has been ordering its products according to sales data from department stores and research companies. The shops sell only the most popular items in each product category, and the rankings are updated weekly.Icosystem,a company in Cambridge,Massachusetts, also aims to exploit knowledge of social networking to improve sales.
7.And the psychology that works in physical stores is just as potent on the internet.Online retailers such as Amazon are adept at telling shoppers which products are popular with like-minded consumers.Even in the privacy of your home, you can still be part of the swarm.

TIME,NEWSWEEK,THE ECONOMIST,CHINADAILY,21st CENTURY等。

1. speak at length without noticeable effort /
考官想帮我, “Would you like to talk more about this?” 我笑着回答: “No, thank you. That’s all.”
2. uses some less common and idiomatic vocabulary /
Do you think we should levy tax on foods that contain a lot of sugar? 我说:No, I don’t agree with this. If the government imposed tax on these foods, people would ...
3. use a range of complex structures /
When was the last time you had tea or coffee?
C11T2W2
Some people claim that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. They say that the only way to increase recycling is for governments to make it a legal requirement.
To what extent do you think laws are needed to make people recycle more of their waste?
考官点评 “ ... rather than explicitly looking at the extent to which laws are required” 就是说考生没有去详细讨论是否需要法律。
Describe a person who helps others in his or her spare time
You should say:
Who he or she is
What he or she does
Why he or she helps others
How you feel about him or her
Part3
Are you willing to help others?
Who should teach children help others?
Should people lend money to others?
Do you think the young people in the past help more than the young people in the present?
Describe a time you receive a call from somebody you do not know in the public place
You should say:
When it was
Where it was
What this call was about.
How you felt about this call
I came across this intriguing article in a newspaper I read at my school’s library. It involved how positive attitudes have greatly affected people?s success, based on the story of how alocal woman had never given up her dream and had now become a world-famous novelist.
According to the news story, optimistic people are more likely to be successful. Since they look at the bright side, their lives are always full of enjoyment. Therefore, when running intoproblems, optimists try their best to work out solutions. This leads them to great achievements. In contrast, pessimistic people tend to act negatively, which not only puts them under a lot of strain, but also has a bad impact on their performance and people around them.
Since I read this news, I have tried to maintain positive attitudes about everything. Whenever I fail to do something, I will not blame myself but work harder to overcome such failure. I hope that, like this woman, everybody can learn to be optimistic about whatever situationthey face.
Describe a sport you would like to learn
Please say:
What sport it is?
When will you learn it?
How will you learn it?
Why do you want to learn this particular sport?
If I get the chance and nothing unusual happens, I would like to start playing basketball soon. This is a sport that fascinates me a lot and after 4-5 months when I will finish my graduation, I will start playing this game on a regular basis. In fact some of my neighbours already play this game every evening in a nearby basketball playground and all I have to do is start playing with them.
They are very close to me and they’ll definitely welcome me to join their team. I will need to buy a pair of sports trousers and shoes and spend some money to start playing it. Actuality the expense is very low and that wouldn’t be a problem for me to start the activity.
Though I often watched this game on television or in our local play-ground, I never played it myself. May be I was bit anxious about the performance or skill of mine in this game and that’s why I have not started it yet. I planned to start playing it when I was in grade 9, but because my family had to move to a new city, I could not start it.
This is a game that fascinates me and since I often watch it on television, I have a great passion about it. Two of my previous attempts to start playing this game were ruined and I feel somehow that has enhanced my interest about this game even more. I need to shape my body and I found it would be a great game to do so. That’s the most important reason I want to start it as soon as possible.
