雅思口语part2范文网站-Describe a useful website that you like to visit
Describe a useful website that you like to visit.
Useful phrases:
(Talking about Taobao…)
Ok, well the first website that came to mind when I saw this topic was Taobao dot com, which (I suppose you could say) is the Chinese equivalent of eBay.com
There’s a huge range of stuff you can buy on this website.
(“stuff” just means “things”, and is uncountable, so no “s” at the end. It’s used a lot in spoken English)
One of the best things about this website is that the prices are generally a lot cheaper than in the shops.
I mainly go on it to buy things like clothes…
I know that shopping online can be quite risky, because the product often isn’t as good as it looks on the website, but if you do enough research, such as read (through) the customer reviews of the product you’re thinking of buying, then I think you can avoid this kind of thing happening to you, because you’ll be able to get an idea of (你将能够了解) how reliable the supplier is.
(Talking about www.ted.com )
Ok right then, well (好的,那么) the website I’d like to talk to you about is Ted dot com, which you might (well) have heard of before, and possibly even been on (你可能听说过,也可能上过).
And as for what’s on the website, well to put it simply, it’s basically a huge collection of video speeches by various people from all kinds of fields,
So it’s a really great resource (一个极好的资源) for learning stuff
It’s completely free, you know, it doesn’t cost anything to listen to the talks,
And what’s great about it is that (它很好的一点就是) you can choose Chinese or English subtitles(字幕) for most of the talks, and also download them onto your computer.
I also like to read the comments (评论) written by other people who have watched the talk.
I go on it (probably) something like two or three times a week(我大概每周量、三次上这个网站) , so pretty much every other day (所以差不多每隔一天)
I’m normally on it while I’m having my lunch (我一般吃午饭的时候在上个网站) because most of the talks are between about 10 to 20 minutes
As for why I think it’s a good website – well first and foremost , it’s because the (vast) majority of talks are incredibly interesting, at least in my opinion anyway (至少在我看来), so there’s a tremendous amount you can learn from them.
…I think it’s wonderful to have a website like this, which brings all these great talks together in one place
…and another good thing about it is that the talks on the website don’t go on for too long (不延续太久). You know we’ve all listened to speeches which drag on and on(拖延很久), but these ones are (generally) all quite short and to the point(直切主题的).
(Talking about Yahoo)
…what I like about Yahoo is that the news articles are always very short and concise(简明的), you know, not too wordy (文字略嫌罗唆) like a lot of other news websites.
…and another good thing about the articles on Yahoo is that they are generally written in a pretty colloquial (口语的) style, which makes them easy to read.
(Talking about the BBC World Service Website)
…I would say it’s definitely one of the best English learning resources on the web, because you can listen to the radio live for 24 hours a day…
…and as well as this (除此之外), there are loads of other radio programmes you can also listen to.
(loads of = lots of – and used mainly in spoken English)
(Talking about Renren website
Ok, well the first website that came to mind when I saw this topic was Renren dot com, which (I suppose you could say) is the Chinese equivalent of Facebook.
…it’s basically the Chinese version (版本) of Facebook.
…it’s a social networking site
…you can upload photos onto the website so that your friends can enjoy looking at them.

Describe a website you like to visit
Describe a website you like to visit
You should say:
When you found it
What it is about
How often you visit it
And explain why you like this website
Describe a website you like to visit 这个话题属于 Media类。 Describe a TV program, Describe a piece of newspaper, Describe a piece of magazine
MODEL ANSWER 范文:
There are actually top ten websites that are often visited by most Chinese. I’ve known these websites one by one; first I became familiar with shopping website like Taobao and the other websites which were used for communication, searching information and simply for entertainment. However, when talking about the website that I like to visit the most, I would say it’s Weibo. I first discovered this when I was in high school. That time, my friends keep talking about it and I can’t relate to the things they were talking about. However, I don’t want to be branded as ignorant so I searched for it and tried to discover what’s in it and how it works. After that, I was able to join the conversation that my friends are having and even share some of my insights and experiences about it.
Weibo is China’s version of twitter; wherein users can create an account which is public and their friends can follow them. Aside from that, users can also post something in it. However, it is just limited to the same 140-character. Talking about following, most of the most followed users are the Chinese celebrities, because they are the popular ones. Ordinary citizens want to know more about the daily activities of their idols that’s why they follow them. Aside from that, Weibo accounts can also be viewed on the web and it also has its mobile version which is very popular nowadays. I often visit this website; actually I can’t count using my ten fingers on how often because I visit this website any time of the day as long as I’m free and doing nothing. I can just easily access it because of my mobile phone and I think it is more convenient. I really like this website because this serves as my stress reliever, whenever I feel like doing nothing or I just wanted to be a couch potato, I would just lay on my bed, get my phone, open my Weibo account and then I would be able to see what’s the latest happenings. Aside from that, I have lots of celebrity idols and I follow all of them; and because of that, I am able to have access on the things going on with their lives. I like seeing their pictures and I like knowing the things that are running in their minds.

People in China really like online shopping and I’m one of them and that is the reason why Taobao is one of the most frequently visited websites. You can find anything you want in it for a very cheap price. Packages come through the kuaidi or express delivery service in a matter of days. Online shopping is my favorite thing to do, that’s why I often visit this website.

What are the reasons why people use the internet?
There are plenty of reasons why people utilize the internet. Firstly, they want to entertain themselves. Yes, most of the people easily get bored, so during their idle time, they would choose to watch some funny online videos or play games using their computer which has internet connection. Secondly, they use it to gain or research some information. For example, mostly for students, they will be looking for online sources to help them in their studies. Another one, people want to keep in touch with other people like their friends, classmates, families or colleagues so they use the internet.
Keywords
Utilize - to use something in an effective way
Idle - not working, not active, or doing nothing
Colleagues - one of a group of people who work togetherSome people say that different age groups have different tastes on internet content, what do you think?
I definitely agree with that. For example, young people such as children would like to visit websites which contain games because they are more interested on those kinds of things. For teenagers, they like to visit social media sites, therefore Instagram, or Weibo are frequently accessed because they like to connect and interact with other people. However, for the old ones, I think, they only visit websites where they can read some news to gain information.
Keywords
Interact - to communicate with or react to
Social media - use of web-based and mobile technologies to turn communication into an interactive dialogueWhat influence can (or, does) the internet have on children? And what about teenagers?
Internet both has negative and positive influences on people. However, for children, I think, it has more negative influences. For instance, they get addicted to playing online games that they tend to lose focus on studying. Sometimes, there were also some websites which are not really suitable for young users like those sites that has some violent and sexual content. For teenagers, there are different social media applications which really hooked them and most of their time is consumed by it. They tend to be less productive.
Keywords
Suitable - acceptable or right for someone or something
Violent - using or involving force to hurt or attack
Hooked - enjoying something so much that you are unable to stop having it, watching it, doing it, etcDo you think parents should control what websites their children visit?
Nowadays, there are lots of websites on the internet and undoubtedly, not all of these are good for everybody especially children. Since young audiences can still hardly determine right from wrong, they might imitate those acts or even negative behavior they learned on those sites. Some of the things that can be viewed and found in the internet are not appropriate for their age, so parents should supervise their children and restrict them in searching different sites. In addition, kids they also lack self-control, if they spend too much on surfing the net, it might negatively influence some of the things which are more important. Therefore, in my opinion, parents should really control what websites their children are visiting or browsing.
Keywords
Behavior - the way in which one acts or conducts oneself, especially toward others.
Appropriate - suitable or right for a particular situation or occasion
Supervise - observe and direct the execution of (a task, project, or activity)
Self-control - the ability to control oneself, in particular one's emotions and desires or the expression of them in one's behavior, especially in difficult situations
Browsing - to look at information on the internetWhat (kinds of) people don’t use the internet and what are the disadvantages that these people suffer because they don’t use the internet?
In my opinion, the people who don’t use the internet are the old and poor ones. The old ones because, I think they don’t want to socialize with other people and they are not really into gadgets and technology. Some of them might find it hard to use or they think that it will only waste their time. As for the poor ones, I think instead of wasting their time surfing the internet, they would rather use it to work hard and earn more money. But of course, both of these groups might be left behind since most of the latest information can be found on the internet.
Keywords
Socialize - to spend time with other people for pleasure
Gadgets - a small device with or machine with a particular purpose
Latest - newest or most recent or modern

Describe your favorite piece of clothing
You should say:
What it looks like
Where did you get it
Why do you like it
And when do you wear it
Ooh, favourite item of clothing! I’m not much of a clothes horse to be honest, I’m not very interested in fashion so at first I thought this topic might be quite hard. However, I’ve thought of one. I’ll tell you what it is, when and why I bought it and why I like it so much.
The item is in itself unremarkable. It is a purple crag hoppers’ long-sleeved shirt. It is made of a quick-drying poly cotton blend and the fabric has some stretchy qualities which make it easy to wear. The fabric keeps out the sun, and the design incorporates a couple of pockets, one of which has a zip so you can keep small items securely on your person. It is designed as a travel shirt, and to be honest, was rather expensive compared to clothes I would normally buy.
I bought the shirt online ahead of travelling to South East Asia. It was just coming out of winter in the UK, but I’d be going to a hot climate. I wanted something lightweight and comfortable to take with me. It was the wrong time of year to be browsing shops in England, they were all still full of winter clothes, so I just had to trust the description on the site that this would be a good buy, but I was nervous in case it didn’t fit or wasn’t practical. I shouldn’t have worried.
I LOVE this shirt. It is incredibly comfortable to wear, the colour suits me quite well, and even though it is designed as a travel shirt, it’s actually smart enough to wear for work if you match it with some respectable trousers (or a skirt I suppose, but I never wear skirts!). It washes brilliantly, and if you shake it out and put it on a hanger it dries crease-free within an hour or so. The hidden pocket is handy for carrying emergency cash on your person, and I like to have a hanky with me too – there is a pocket for that as well. Because the shirt is so comfy, and much harder wearing than I expected, I wore it almost all the time on my travels. This means that the shirt is now linked to very many happy memories of places I’ve been, people I’ve met and adventures I’ve had. I wish I’d bought loads of them at the same time. I’ll be heart-broken when it eventually wears out as one day it surely must.
Talking about it has got me thinking – would it really hurt to have another quick look at their travel clothes website once again? You never know, perhaps they’ll have a sale on and it would be shame to miss out...

People around the world wear different sorts of dresses and due to geographical location and seasonal changes, the attires vary. I always prefer wearing jeans clothes, especially jeans pant and shirt.
Jeans are common clothing items and are available around the world and mostly popular among the youths who are of my age. I wear jeans pant and shirt always even when I attend in any formal occasion. The most important benefit of wearing jeans clothing is that they do not become dirty as easily as the other types of clothes do. Moreover, you can have the pant and shirt of all size and shape and are sold at a reasonable price. They are found in different colours and attractive designs too. It makes the look smarter in some cases than the formal attires.
Usually, the jeans cloth is like all the other available clothes, and produced from jean fabric but it is special in the sense that it lasts longer than the other clothes. Jeans is a bit heavier in weight and thus the attires made with the cloths are of higher quality. Besides, the colours are also attractive and able to get attentions of the surrounding people for the distinguished design. The pants and shirts made with jeans cloths are like usual shirt and pants but you can use them both for formal and informal purposes whereas the other clothes are not suitable to serve the same purpose simultaneously.

1.Good morning/afternooon ,sir/madam!
2.(talk about weather)It’s a nice day today ,isn’t it?
3.This is Rita (sayyourEnglishname,notChinese becausehewillaskyouthatlater)
4.Can I take a seat please?
HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER这种轻喜剧男女老少都很容易喜欢上。

I want to talk about a useful website which is Trip Advisor. You can find it on the internet and I just have it as a favourite on my toolbar. I am a complete TripAdvisor junkie! I visit the website every time when I plan my travels. The website is massive and functional. It provides hotel and restaurant reviews, accommodation bookings and other travel-related content.
TripAdvisor, for me, is a one-stop location for all tourism information. I really like that I can have different options of accommodation, but it also provides a lot of guidance for your travelling. You'll also find low airfares, free travel guides, worldwide vacation rental listings, popular forums with advice about virtually every destination, and more. I wonder if you also use the website too, and if you do, whether you might also be as avid a follower as me.

I'd like to talk about YouTube, you know, the video sharing website, but actually, it is blocked in China, I'll need a VPN in order to log on to the site.
I've been a visitor of this website for as long as I could remember, at first, I was really into those hilarious videos, for example, there are people imitating the plots of a certain movie, like a parody of a horror film or things like that. And sometimes they would change the voice of the movie, and replace them with funny dialects.
I love to watch them 'cause it's a great way to kill time and release the pressure, as they say, laughter is the best medicine, right?
And these years, there are super talented singers who post their cover songs to this website, and they have tons of followers, well, obviously, I'm one of them. And to be honest, sometimes they sound more appealing than the original ones.
Besides, if you are a risk taker, you would love this website 'cause you'll find a lot of people who share the same interests. People who are crazy about extreme sports would post videos about their adventure, like jumping off buildings or doing difficult and dangerous actions near the cliff. Every time I watch those videos, I would be like, 'Wow! Amazing! Incredible!'
And tutorials are also available there. All kinds of 'icons' would teach viewers certain skills, like how to do makeup, how to cook, how to match your clothes, and things like that.
So you see, you can always find something you are interested in on that website.

I am a big fan of Chinese history. The major events that happened from the first dynasty, Xia Dynasty, to the last dynasty, Qing Dynasty have been acknowledged by myself. But there is one dynasty that have attracted me since I was young. It was the Tang Dynasty.
My first vague impression of Tang Dynasty is from the stories my mom told me when I was very young. At that time, my mom always told me the stories about Zetian Wu, the first and the only woman emperor in Chinese history, such as how she escaped from the temple when her first husband died, how she became the queen of the country and how she used strategies to let ministers bend over in front of her. These exciting stories grasped my curiosity to dig more about the Tang Dynasty. Therefore, I started to read historical books to involve myself in this period. Xuanwu Gate incident, the power battle between Princess Taiping and Longji Li, and the love story of Longji Li and Lady Yang are all the splendid events that describe the royal life at that time.
What makes these stories fascinating and attractive is the royal family’s struggle between power and family love. Everyone in these historical events would hesitate to defeat or kill their relatives. People involving themselves into these big events always thought about the value of what they were doing. Sometimes readers could even understand their inner heart and think what they have been thinking all the time. Love in exchange for power or power in exchange for love are just two choices of their own heart, but the endings might be so different than the original decisions. That’s what I find interesting about these stories, cruel but sometimes mixed with warmth.
(Describe a historical period)
Describe a historical period that you are interested in
You should say:
What the historical period is
How you know it
What happened during that period
Why you find it interesting
(Describe a historical period)
Speaking of a period of history that I fond of,I would like to talk something about the Middle age. Life in the Middle Ages was completely different than we see it today. Some reflections of life of that period are found in cinemas but most of them are unrealistic. They are filled with fantasies. The real life in the Middle Ages was filled with classifications and the feudal system dominated the entire society. And most importantly, people were superstitious to a great extent. This is a very smart candidate task card and I am happy to have it in my share.
In some terms, living in the Middle Ages was beneficial. Life was not so much complicated as it is found today. People used to live near nature. And there were fewer traffic congestions in the streets. Though the streets remained crowded round the day, there were no troubles among the pedestrians and people used to live in their own way. Minding the own business was the key task. The other important benefit was that they did not think so much about the career or about the other silly issues that matter most in the present day.
But there were some drawbacks as well. The classification was the most important obstacle of this age. People were classified into various groups and the noblemen used to dominate the poorer section of the society. The scope of entertainment was limited and the lower parts of the society had no or little access to such activities. The daily life in this age was the subject of wealth and power.
I would like to have lived in that period of time. In fact, a fascination works in me about that age. I have seen numerous events in movies and got addicted to the age. So, I want to travel in the streets with a dimmed lantern with me and enjoy the views around.

1. Do you like (to learn about) history?
I love history it shows us where we come from. People say history always repeats itself and it does. I think it’s important to look back so we can learn from past mistakes and make sure we don't make the same ones as ancestors did. My favorite time in history would have to be the medieval times.
2. Do you think history is important?
History is the record of events of what had happened in the past. In a sense all developments in politics, government, society, inventions and discoveries are part of human history. History helps you understand yourself better and understand others around you better.
3. Do you think you can learn history from films or TV programs?
No. Unless the film is presented as a documentary, no strict adherence to the historical record is mandated. You go to movies not to learn about history but to be entertained, frightened, thrilled. That’s all great. But there’s no reason that an episode of history has to be done with a certain degree of accuracy, because that’s not the objective of a movie. My view is, if you get your history from movies or TV programs, you get what you deserve.
4. Do you think the internet is a good way to learn about history?
There many excellent resources for the study of history available on the Internet. Keep in mind, however, that not everything published on the Internet is reliable information. We should all be careful and use our commonsense when surfing the Internet. Always check the information you learn from online against reliable sources elsewhere.
5. Does your country have a long history?
With more than 4,000 years of recorded history, China is one of the few existing countries that also flourished economically and culturally in the earliest stages of world civilization.

Describe a book you liked to read in your childhood.
You should say:
who wrote this book
what it is about
hen you read it
and explain why you liked it.
范文:
I wasn't much of a bookworm but I did occasionally read novels from time to time during my childhood. In fact, I'd like to talk about a book I read when I was 9 years old, written by Li Hong. Its English name translates as 'Hero'.
I would have been in primary school at the time, I guess around grade 4, but I can't remember exactly off the top of my head. Bear in mind that in those days I would rather go outside and play with my friends than read a book, but I remember this book in particular taking up a large portion of my time.
The book is actually the first in a series of 6 books that are set in a fantasy world of old magic, monsters and knights in shining armour. It is set on an epic scale across a vast, vibrant and immensely detailed world with each chapter dedicated to just one character's viewpoint. It's perfect for a young boy with a vivid imagination, looking for a bit of adventure.
In this way I think the book really stands out from the others I have read. The plot lines twist and turn with many surprises and cliff-hangers so I found it almost impossible to put down. The speed the story develops makes the book a real page-turner and even though it is nearly 1000 pages long I got through it in under a fortnight.
