――阿甘正传英语影评

Forrest Gump, the movie which I have watched for three times, is a film that surprised and moved me so much .It was based on the novel of Winston Groom while the hero is a famous actor―Tom Hanks. He performed so well all through the film that I enjoyed the warm human nature, the inspiration of belief and other virtues through any scene in it.

The female, a kind of role, is very essential in the film as it acts in the real society .As the Chinese saying goes, women hold up half the sky. In the life of Forrest Gump, there are two women―one is his great mother, the other is his lifelong lover, Jenny. They accounted for Forrest’s whole life.

At the beginning of the film, Mrs. Gump, Forrest’s mother, impressed me much .I think Forrest with an IQ of 75 was so lucky to own such a strong-minded and smart mother. She and her Forrest lived in Greenbow, Alabama, all on their own. She told Forrest he was no different than anybody else was though he braced his legs. Under her philosophical words, “life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get”, Forrest achieved marvelous success in his life step by step such as entering college, being awarded the Congressional medal of honour, being a gozillionaire and so on. She was just like any mother to love Forrest from the bottom of her heart and inspire him any time. In turn she was also proud of Forrest with happy smile in his college graduation ceremony and when he was awarded as a Vietnam War hero. Unfortunately, she was sick with a cancer and died on a Tuesday. At the end of her life, she still teached her son to accept death as a part of life and to pursue his own destiny. Though keeping far away in the heaven finally, I think this mother would still look at and bless her son.

Jenny was Forrest’s lifelong lover. They met each other in the school bus. In the film Jenny did many bad things to Forrest. From their childhood right on up Jenny and Forrest were good friends .They came to school together and grew with each other’s accompany. Finally though they stayed far away from each other, Forrest always loved his Jenny. No matter whatever she had done, whoever she was and wherever she stayed, Forrest still remained in the home of Alabama missing his girl and waiting for her return from day to night.

This is just Forrest Gump. This is his love. This is his Jenny.

I also thought of such scene: Forrest kept in the dorm of Jenny and Jenny asked about who he would dream to be. Forrest just gave an answer that he wanted to be himself. I am moved deeply by it because though he is a fool, Forrest knows what he really needs. As to him, he only wants to be himself and fall in love with a lady named Jenny.

Besides in another scene in Washington Jenny asked,“Why are you so good to me ?”, while Forrest’s answer was “You are my girl”。 Why is it not “I love you”?  Because there is no need of more words to express Forrest’s love to Jenny . It was not added with any limitations and no request of paying back. We can compare today’s love with Forrest’s and then gain the feeling of purity. At the end, Forrest Gump, the fool of Alabama, married his lover Jenny and had a little Forrest.

There are more to consider about Forrest Gump. I believe it is so excellent a movie and every one would be moved by Forrest Gump.

“Brave” is the latest animated film from Pixar, and therefore becomes the film the parents of the world will be dragged to by their kids. The good news is that the kids will probably love it, and the bad news is that parents will be disappointed if they're hoping for another Pixar groundbreaker. Unlike such brightly original films as “Toy Story,” “Finding Nemo,” “WALL-E” and “Up,” this one finds Pixar poaching on traditional territory of Disney, its corporate partner. We get a spunky princess; her mum, the queen; her dad, the gruff king, an old witch who lives in the woods, and so on.

The princess is Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald), seen in an action-packed prologue as a flame-haired Scottish tomboy whose life is changed by an early birthday gift of a bow, which quickly inspires her to become the best archer in the kingdom. Then we flash forward to Merida as a young lady of marriageable age, who is startled by request from Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson) to choose among three possible husbands chosen by her clan.

Nothing doing, especially since all three candidates are doofuses. Merida leaps upon her trusty steed and flees into the forest, where her friends the will-o-the-wisps lead her to the cottage of a gnarled old witch (Julie Walters)。 She begs for a magic spell that will change Queen Elinor's mind, but it changes more than that: It turns Elinor into a bear. Witches never know how to stop when they're ahead.

Luckily, the magic spell comes with an escape clause. Merida has exactly two days to reverse the charm. After she and her mother absorb what has happened, they begin to work together and grow closer than ever, even though the queen cannot speak. There is a tricky complication. King Fergus (Billy Connolly) had his leg bitten off by a bear (in the prologue), and has been indisposed toward them ever since. Unsurprisingly, when he sees his wife as a bear, he fails to recognize her.

And so on. This is a great-looking movie, much enlivened by the inspiration of giving Merida three small brothers, little redheaded triplets. The Scottish Highlands are thrillingly painted in astonishing detail, and some action shows Merida's archery more than equal in assorted emergencies.

“Brave” has an uplifting message about improving communication between mothers and daughters, although transforming your mom into a bear is a rather extreme first step. Elinor is a good sport, under the circumstances. But Merida is far from being a typical fairy-tale princess. Having flatly rejected the three suitors proposed by her family, she is apparently prepared to go through life quite happily without a husband, and we can imagine her in later years, a weathered and indomitable Amazon queen, sort of a Boudica for the Scots. “Brave” seems at a loss to deal with her as a girl and makes her a sort of honorary boy.

阿甘正传英文影评

My favorite movie is Mr. A Gan,which I have being moved and inspired by the male leading character―Forrest Gump.

At the beginning of the movie, following the beautiful music , there is a beautiful feather dancing with the breeze. Finally lighting at the foot of Forrest Gump. The man who sits on the bentch and tells his life experience to the strangers .

Forrest Gump is unfortunately to be born with a low IQ and musele problem. Generally speaking by most people, this kind of person couldn’t be successful in doing anything. However ,he comes very successful through his struggling. What he narrates reflect the social changes. Many important events and people of American from the 1950s to the 1970s are shown fluently in his description of his life experience. So the film was passed to a intellectual disturbance person the description of life has reflected every aspect of U.S.A.’s life, important incident of social political life make and represent to these decades such as U.S.A. from one unique angle. Film adapt Winston novel of the same name of Groom since.

His mother had been playing a very important role in his life. when he sat on the bench on the side of the road, talking with the strangers, he would often start his theory with “ my mother said……”

My mother said “Life is like a box of chocolates, Forrest, you never know what you are going to get.”

My mother said” Don’t you be afraid sweet heart. Death is just a part of life. Something we are destined to do”

Gump’s mother is a clever woman. She can earn enough money to support her one parent family. She I is also optimistic. She never feels ashamed of her son. She is proud of her son. She never thinks Forrest is a fool. She wants her son can lead a life as an ordinary person. In order to let him study into school, she has sex with the headmaster. She is also intelligent. Every night she reads some books for Forrest and tells some simple truths to him. Gump was an extra docile child and he had kept all his mother words. He said apple head had his own ways of dealing with all kinds of things in life. Gump actually didn’t have much ambition and he also lost many valuable things. But he didn’t abandon himself to desperation. His love eternally continued. He already had a small Gump after all. So although he was not smart, he knew how to keep life hopeful and dynamic.

when we say that Forrest Gump is a lucky guy. I think most of you may think that he is so lucky to escape much trouble , but the “luck” is that he is so lucky to have such a good mother by my means. Gump has his own perseverance, keeping on running without of any reason, JUST RUNS. He said: “Man has look forward, and never encumbered by foretime. I thank that's the meaning of my running.” Say goodbye to foretime and don't stay in-place. Although so many people in the world are used to follow others and few people can stick to one thing, Gump does and becomes “GOD”。 There is another character Captain Dan. Dan lost his legs in Vietnarm War. He said that his fate is death in war. However, Forrest Gump saved him and let him be alive. After losing legs, Dan was decadent and disgusted with life, complaining that Gump shouldn’t save him. When he adjusted his mind, living on fishing with Gump , he started to enjoy the wonderful life and thank Gump’s help. The movie is intended to tell people that life is wonderful by this character. Rainbow is always after cloud. The key point is that whether we have a good mind and an opportunity to ourselves to change bad situation. The movie is also sent such a message to us: do well what we should do, and life will return us well. There will be a miracle if only there is perseverance.

There are full of philosophy in the movie. Many lines in this movie are classical. For example, life is a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get. In addition, the sentence that death is just a part of life, something we’re all destined to do is also of wisdom. They make us think of life profoundly.

On every stage of life, Gump had merely one target as his guidance of that temporary period. But he would strive persistently to accomplish it. I thought that must be his charm of personality.

However, most of the time, we just couldn’t be able to find the reason for what we had did or what we are doing now. And what seemed regretful was that we just resigned ourselves to giving up half the way. Life is that way. you don’t have to calculate the amount of your acquisition but just do it to the best of your ability. Then you will fly higher and higher. I believe firmly the higher you fly, the less far you will be away from the paradise in your heart. Thus, do not complain that you do not have something. Just like yourself and make your advantages better and better. So I think his success is by his sheer hard struggle instead of luck.

Last but not least, the pictures and the music in this film are rather beautiful. It begins with the beautiful scene: A white feather dances in the wind with the music gradually from soft to strong. In the sky, the feather is shinning brightly. At the end of this film, the feather appears with the wonderful music again. It creates a pure and peaceful world to us. In my view, life is just like a feather, which can be changeable with the breeze in the sky. We cannot control the breeze. What we can do is to adjust to the environment. We should take advantage of our advantages. And try our best to make us dancing more beautiful in the blue sky. Our IQ is higher than Forrest Gump, so we have ability to live better than Forrest. Just seek for a better life through work hard.

On the whole, this movie is special, inspiring, educational, philosophic and moving. I enjoy it every much. It is worthy of our appreciation for many times.

篇4:千与千寻影评 英文

千与千寻(Spirited Away)

Animated feature from Japanese master Hayao Miyazaki. A young girl finds herself trapped in a mystical realm, where she must find a way to save her parents - who have been turned into pigs There‘s something almost criminal about the way Spirited Away took over two years to reach Britain after its original Japanese release. In Japan, Hayao Miyazaki is both commercially successful (his films regularly beat box office records) and highly respected (Akira Kurosawa said: “I am somewhat disturbed when critics lump our works together. One cannot mimimise the importance of Miyazaki‘s work by comparing it to mine.”). In Britain, however, his work has barely got more than a few cursory arts venue screenings. At least Spirited Away - which took the Berlin Golden Bear in and the Best Animated Film Oscar in - made it. Better late than never.

After the stress of making his last film, ‘s Princess Mononoke, Miyazaki had a breakdown and retired. But he came out of retirement when an idea to create another, lighter film began to take shape. Princess Mononoke was an action-packed epic that ranged across 15th century Japan. For Spirited Away he returned to the quieter - but no less serious - themes that he addressed to a degree in 1988‘s My Neighbor Tortoro. Both films feature a family moving house, girls getting used to upheaval, and elements of ‘Alice In Wonderland‘. But where the 1988 film used a few specific motifs from Carroll‘s book (a plunge into a ‘rabbit hole‘, a version of the Cheshire cat), Spirited Away casts its 10-year-old protagonist, Chihiro (Hragi; or Chase in the US dub), fully into a Wonderland, a mystical otherworld populated by animal spirits and gods. Chihiro arrives in this realm by accident. Her parents, heading for their new home, take a road that leads into the woods. Arriving at a dead end, they walk down a corridor through a building and emerge in what dad takes to be “an abandoned theme park”. It‘s something like a Japanese Portmeirion, but eerily deserted. While her parents greedily help themselves to food, Chihiro wanders off and meets Haku (Irino; or Marsden), a boy who warns her to leave before dark. She‘s too late though - a lake has appeared, blocking her route, ghostly forms have populated the town and her parents have turned into pigs. She‘s trapped.

The only way to survive, Haku tells her, is to get work in the bath house that dominates the town. Here “eight million gods rest their weary bones”, according to Yubaba (Natsuki; or Pleshette), the witch who runs the establishment. Chihiro makes her way to meet Yubaba with the help of Kamajii (Sugawara; Ogden Stiers), a multi-limbed codger who runs the boiler house, Lin (Tamai; Egan), a serving woman with a taste for “roasted newt”, and even a ‘Radish God‘, a giant sumo of a chap with tuber-like appendages. Yubaba is hardly forthcoming - her realm is “no place for humans” - but she‘s forced to give Chihiro work, thanks to an oath she swore. Chihiro gets work helping Lin. But the management give them the worst jobs - such as assisting a hideous oozing creature they take to be a “Stink God; an extra large stinker at that”. It‘s an entity so foul its smell makes food rot instantaneously, while its suppurations fill the room with a noxious gloop.

Chihiro - or Sen as she becomes when Yubaba takes her name as part of her contract - does get by in the bath house, but it‘s not without further incident. She may lose her identity, but she retains her decency. One act of kindness results in a dangerous spirit, No Face, getting into the bath house and wreaking havoc by playing on the greed of the other employees (“Gold springs from his palms!”). She even gets involved in an adventure that reveals her mysterious bond with Haku. But can she save her parents? It‘s often said that Katsuhiro Otomo‘s Akira (1988) is the greatest anime ever. That‘s as maybe, but every one of Miyazaki‘s films is a masterpiece, so it‘s hard to pick just one that stands out. It‘s also tricky to compare his works with the more traditionally received notion of anime (giant robots, demons with phallic tentacles, telekinetic fighting, atom bomb-style explosions etc).

Although Miyazaki insists it‘s not his role to be didactic, all of his work (notably his second feature Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind and Princess Mononoke) has strong messages about ecology and the human relationship with the natural world. But he‘s also fascinated with coming-of-age stories, notably about how girls (many of his protagonists are young females) can not only face up to adult responsibility, but also how they can become strong, principled members of society. Here Chihiro is forced to grow up fast, but the process, while gruelling, is not without real benefits, as her understanding of the way society functions and experience of adult emotions develops exponentially.

Some aspects of the film are likely to be too foreign for Westerners - we‘re ignorant of Japanese belief systems, with their hierarchies of entities - but Miyazaki‘s work has the power to transcend such culturally specific elements. While many of his earlier films drew on European stories (such as 1986‘s Castle In The Sky, from Swift), the folkloric features he reworks are often universal. But most of all, his team‘s animation - here utilising more digital techniques, while still being grounded in 2D traditions - is always beautiful and, in places, breathtaking. Locations are atmospheric, details are immaculate (you can identify the flower species in the gardens) and characters are diverse. Yubaba, for example, is a bizarre creation, a stocky woman with a huge head and even bigger hairdo; the bath house itself is stocked with all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures, from a Kermit-like assistant, to creatures reminiscent of his cuddly woodland deity from My Neighbor Tortoro, to troll-like beasts that look related to Maurice Sendak‘s ‘Wild Things‘). The only factor that could be seen as mildly misjudged is J Hisaishi‘s score, which is overbearing in places.

篇5:千与千寻影评 英文

My favorite movie

My favorite movie is directed by Miyazaki Hayao. The first time I saw this film is in junior high school. Up to this day, I have seen it countless times, but never tire of seeing. Spirited Away casts its 10-year-old protagonist, Chihiro, falls into a mystical world dominated by animal spirits. Chihiro arrives in this realm by accident. Her parents, when heading for their new home, take a road that leads into the woods. Arriving at a dead end, they walk down a corridor through a building and emerge in an abandoned theme park. While her parents greedily eat the food, Chihiro wanders off and meets Haku, a boy who warns her to leave before dark. But she's too late. A lake has appeared, blocking her route, ghostly forms have dominated the town and her parents have turned into pigs. She's trapped.

Haku tells her the only way to survive is to get a work in the bath house that

dominated by Yubaba. Chihiro makes her way to meet Yubaba with the help of Kamajii, a multi-limbed codger who runs the boiler house. Yubaba is hardly forthcoming - her realm is “no place for humans” - but she's forced to give Chihiro work, thanks to an oath she swore. Chihiro gets work helping Lin.

At the bathhouse, Yubaba reveals that Chihiro must pass one more task as part of Haku's deal: identify which pigs in the huge herd are her parents. Chihiro passes the test, as she states that none of them are her parents, and Yubaba is forced to let her and her family go.

Miyazaki is fascinated with Coming-of-Age stories, notably about how girls (many of his protagonists are young females) can not only face up to adult responsibility, but also how they can become strong, principled members of society. Here Chihiro is forced to grow up fast, but the process, while gruelling, is not without real benefits, as her

understanding of the way society functions and experience of adult emotions develops exponentially.
