一、引言

高职院校商务英语专业是培养外向型企业一线人才的摇篮。

商务英语专业所有的课程都是为了增强学生的自主学习能力,培养学生积极适应实际业务岗位要求以及处理具体业务中出现的各种问题的应变能力,同时又具备直接同外商流畅的交流等这些综合素质的开设的。

在高职商务英语专业教学中,英语信函是最重要的课程之一。

二、商务英语人才培养中存在的问题

我国目前的高职商务英语人才培养主要存在以下问题:

1.外语教学的特点之一,就是在进行一种语言教学的同时,还必须进行与之相关的文化背景知识的教育。

如果忽视了的话,这样的语言教学就是不完整的。

在高职商务英语教学中进行相关的文化背景知识的教学,是一个极其重要但最容易被忽视的问题。

这也是我国高职商务英语信函学习方法存在的首要问题。

2.来自三所大学的325名学生参与了一份问卷调查。

结果表明:绝大多数参与调查的学生认为词汇学习是一种单调、机械的活动,从中感觉不到学习的乐趣或成就感。

刚上大学英语课时最难学的是词汇,而不再是高中时的听力。

这一现象是由词汇学习的非独立性造成的。

3.长期以来,高职商务英语教育中普遍存在着专业面过窄,重专业轻基础,重知识轻能力,重理论轻实践,重知识教育轻素质教育的传统教育观念,学生的知识能力结构片面化,对学生创新能力的培养没有得到足够的重视和真正落实。

这一现象的改善有赖于社会、学校、及学生本身长期不懈的共同努力。

4.有些同学对于学习的意义认识还很不够,有的认为,只要努力学习就行了,总以为只要一天到晚不停地学,就算尽了他们对家长和老师的全部责任。

这些同学,不知道运用科学的学习方法,一天到晚读死书,学习也就没有什么意义了。

三、如何提高商务英语信函学写作的学习成效

根据外贸英语函电课程的性质及学习目的与要求,应该在教学过程中注意对学生进行以下几方面的培养。

1.学习语言不是一个孤立的学习过程。

任何一种语言都是由生活在一定言语使用区域中的人们在一定的语境(context)下通过口语或书面语形式相互交际而使用的。

同时,一种特定的语言总是和使用这种语言的民族或国家,以及其历史、文化、社会背景等因素息息相关的。

因此在英语教学中,我们不仅要讲解语言知识,训练语言运用能力,而且还要加强有关的文化背景知识的传授。

许多外语教师往往把注意力集中在教授语言本身 ,而忽视了对与该语言相关的社会文化背景知识和跨文化交际知识及规则的传授。

这种滞后的教学法使语言的社会交际功能得不到充分发挥 ,使学生在跨文化交往中无法做到游刃有余。

2.合作学习是学生提高自主学习能力的必经阶段和重要手段。

合作学习就是通过教师指导的小组活动让学生相互合作、共同完成学习任务。

目前我国英语词汇教学中存在一些问题。

研究表明,以第二语言词汇习得理论为基础,运用合作学习法进行词汇教学,可以使学生克服阅读中的词汇困难,提高教学质量。

3.词汇教学是英语教学中的一个重要方面, 特别是在外贸英语信函课程的教学中词汇学习更是一个非常重要的内容。

尤其是熟练掌握一些专有名词、专业术语更是对我们学习好外贸英语信函课程有很大的'帮助。

一个天才的语言学家,他的成功奥秘,也许就是他善于日积月累起来的常用词汇、短语、句型等进行归纳分门别类,当然更善于应用。

4.“零距离”上岗是用人单位对应用性人才的需求,是高职办学的一种指导思想和教学理念,明确高职培养目标,科学制定实践性教学计划,坚持“做学”提高学生实践能力,加强校企合作,推行“订单”培养,建立有效的实践教学评价机制,加强“双师型”师资队伍建设,培养受社会欢迎的实用性高职人才。

5.把国际贸易实务和商务英语知识紧密结合起来,通过以英语为基本工具的对外经贸业务知识的综合训练,培养外向型经贸人才听、说、读、写英语的基本技能,以真正提高商务专业学生国际贸易实务的操作水平和在对外经贸活动中熟练使用英语的能力。

四、小结

综上所述,目前的外贸英语教学方法还有很多不足,直接影响了学生对于外贸英语的学习。

外贸英语函电是一门实践操作性很强的课程。

也就是说,要达到正确拟写外贸业务信函的目的,仅有理论是远远不够的,学员必须学习大量外贸实务中有一定代表的信函,深入体会何为七个“C’S”[Completeness完整;Conciseness简练;Consideration得体;Concreteness具体;Clarity清楚;Courtesy谦恭;Correctness正确]等等写作的基础理论知识,更重要的是通过学习信例,熟悉大量外贸业务中各个环节中常用语,包括词汇、短语、句型以及习惯表达方式等等,再通过一定量的练习,对常用语进行操练运用,从而达到掌握并熟练使用的目的,只有这样才能够真正学好外贸英语信函,提高自己的外贸业务工作能力。
