任何学科或研究方向的发展都有其发展周期，从萌芽到从人们的研究视野中逐步消失或转移到新的研究方向，其间可能经过多次发展高潮或低谷。因此，面对一个“热门”的研究方向时我们需要冷静审视。它是适应当前社会或学科发展的迫切需要而为众人关注，还是少数人爆炒的结果？是国际上新兴的、处于快速发展期的研究方向？还是对国外研究的跟进或简单的介绍？同样，面对一个不为研究主流所关注的问题时，我们也要深入思索，它是一个充满生机的新研究方向，还是正处于停滞期或已为人们所放弃？引导问题的理论需求或社会需要真正存在吗？有取得突破的可能吗？它不为研究者们关注，是因为太复杂因而短期内无法取得进展，还是因为它超前以至于不为大多数人察觉？一个研究领域的停滞，是因为其内部的固有研究动力或需求消失，还是由于支持该研究的相关理论、方法、技术落后影响了其发展的步伐？正确回答这些问题需要我们广泛地研读本专业及相关领域的文献，经常性地、有意识地思考。“学而不思则罔，思而不学则殆”，经过反复的“学”和“思”，我们才能判断一个研究方向或问题的潜在价值。

（2）判断研究设想的可行性

至于题目的可行性，除了考虑自身的兴趣、知识结构和能力外，还要考虑相应的实验或实践条件。后者主要为导师的研究方向或项目所影响，有时导师的研究方向或项目不很适合自己意向中的题目，这时不要匆忙得出否定的结论，在征得导师的同意后，不妨思路开阔些，考虑能否与国内同行进行互补性合作。

你们好！本人***，正是源于对生物医学工程专业及干细胞研究领域的兴趣，以及对行业的前景非常认可，选择该专业攻读博士，并继续探索有关干细胞的未知领域也是我对科学的崇尚，希望能够在这一领域有所成就。贵校是一所综合性多科大学，学术和科研非常出色，有着浓厚的历史和文化底蕴。医学院不管是硬件还是软件都具有很强的实力。高质量教学和学术积淀的感染，使我更坚定了攻读博士学位的信心。
