Dear_ My teacher:

Hello!

I'm from Henan Province__ Middle school students, I'm very glad to present my application for studying abroad to you, and I hope to take this opportunity to stand out for the smooth entry_ The university has laid a solid foundation.

In this dream city of the capital, there are many colleges and universities, but only your school has deeply attracted my attention. Every year, our high school will be admitted to your school, they are known as “the son of heaven”. When the admission gold list was posted to the campus, looking at the smile on their faces, my heart was like a rough sea, and I couldn't bear it any more. I secretly made up my mind that one day I would build my dream on the campus of the National People's Congress with my own strength and become a part of her.

To be successful, we have to work hard and study hard.

In learning, I am very strict with myself, and fully carry forward the spirit of not afraid to bear hardships to face all the difficulties and setbacks in learning. I know that learning is a process of suffering. Only by persevering can we achieve the rebirth of Phoenix Nirvana and reach the other side of success. Therefore, in the classroom, I closely follow the teacher's ideas, listen carefully, take notes carefully, every knowledge point will not be missed. After class, I cherish the time, work hard to review, actively preview, and control my learning rhythm. I like to think about problems, like to explore the source of problems, and then draw inferences from one instance, break the whole into parts. Due to my diligence and hard work, I got excellent results. I was in the forefront of the school in every exam, and was affirmed by teachers and students. I was rated as excellent class cadre, excellent student and learning pacesetter for many times.

At the same time, I also take time to develop my interests. I like to play table tennis, badminton, basketball, immersed in the passion of physical exercise and heroic, in the tension and stimulation between the harvest of a strong physique. But I prefer traditional Chinese culture to physical exercise.

I like the breadth and depth of Chinese culture, the massiness and magic of Chinese culture. After class, I have read many classics of Chinese studies, such as Mencius, the Analects of Confucius, historical records, Zizhitongjian, Hanshu, and so on. I feel the infinite charm of Chinese Studies in words and stories. In my opinion, Sinology is not only the traditional culture, but also the core value concept and pursuit of the Chinese nation. It is a high summary of the way of thinking, behavior, life and production of the Chinese people for thousands of years. It is the milk of the Chinese mother, the blood, spirit and soul of the Chinese people, and the sky and earth of the Chinese people's faith.

Out of my love for Sinology, I have been determined to devote myself to the study, excavation and promotion of the precious culture of the motherland since I was a child. With what I have learned, I will contribute my humble efforts to the cultural development of the country and the cultural rejuvenation of the nation.

And the reason why I'm in so many places_ I love your university because of its profound culture. Your university is a comprehensive research-oriented university focusing on Humanities and social sciences. Since the establishment of the University, your school has never forgotten the school running purpose of “serving the people, studying and serving the country”. Taking “seeking truth from facts” as the school motto, it has gradually formed a complete education system, especially focusing on the role of Humanities and Social Sciences in understanding the world, inheriting civilization, innovating theories, consulting politics and educating people, and serving the society, It has provided a large number of high-quality talents for the country, among which Fan Wenlan, Feng Qiyong, Ai Qing, Wang Xiaobo and other alumni are famous and have made great contributions to the cultural construction of the country.

I admire the National College of your university. It is the first educational and scientific research institution in New China that takes Sinology as the purpose of educational research and is a graduate school. The college has a strong academic force. It has formulated a complete and systematic teaching plan of Sinology, established a curriculum system centered on classic study, and fully considered the organic integration of tradition and modern. In teaching and research, it not only inherits the characteristics of traditional scholarship, but also has a distinct modernity and broad international vision. All these make me yearn. Therefore, I think your college is my dream place and will change my life path.

Dear teacher, please consider and accept my application, give me a piece of sky, let me fly freely, give me a piece of ocean, let me swim freely, I believe that entering the National People's Congress is my most wise choice. If I am accepted successfully, I will cherish my time, work hard and assiduously, devote myself to academic research, follow the footsteps of masters, leave my name in the inheritance of Chinese culture, become the pillar of the country and the pride of the National People's Congress.

I believe I can.

Sincerely

Salute

Acclaimed as a prodigy, I entered into one of China’s Ivy Leagueuniversities at 14 and joined the country’s topmost scientific researchinstitution as a graduate student at 19. Now an experienced engineer at 26, Iwould like to scale still higher intellectual heights by undertaking advancedstudies that I hope would put me firmly on the cutting edge of scientificdevelopment.

I have demonstrated a keen mind since my early childhood. For years, Iconsistently outperformed all of my classmates in such challenging subjects asmathematics, physics and chemistry. I was thus chosen to represent either myschool or my city in a variety of provincial and national contests of academicskills, in which I won numerous prizes. This impressive academic record put meon academic acceleration several times. That not only enabled me to finish myprimary and secondary education in eight instead of the usual twelve years butalso sent me at 14 to a privileged class for the gifted at the ChineseUniversity of Science and Technology, a major cradle of the country’s scientificand technological talents.

After two years of basic training in the gifted class, I chose electricalengineering as my major and computer software programming as my minor, convincedthat expertise in these fields would stand me in good stead in an era of China’srapid economic expansion and technological modernization. As you can see fromthe transcripts of my undergraduate grades, I excelled in both of theseareas.

Upon graduation in 1991, I won easy acceptance into the Institute ofElectronics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and became a graduate studentat 19, when most Chinese students would be just starting their universityeducation. At this institute, I narrowed my academic interest down and focusedit on the area of human and artificial intelligence, where the courses I tookwere deliberately concentrated. It seemed to me that scientific breakthroughswould next come in this area, which made it both challenging and promising. Ilearned a whole lot about this area in the course if doing my thesis titled “TheRadio Shunting System in Railroad”, for which some experiments were conducted onthe basis of artificial intelligence.

My solid education paid off in my ability to take on a variety ofresponsibilities in China’s burgeoning software industry. After I obtained myMaster’s Degree in Engineering in 1994, I first took up a job with atelecommunication company, where I managed a trunk communication system thatresembled the cellular wireless system. A year later, I joined a softwarecompany to develop CMIS program for China’s Post and TelecommunicationsMinistry. It was a large project, and I made crucial contribution to it byindependently developing and finalizing one subsystem, which proved to be asignificant success and won me profuse appreciation from users. After thecompletion of that project, I have been working for the Japan Brother Ltd. inthe area of software development.

The relative smooth path of my career notwithstanding, I have not had achance to lead a major project, although I have always finished my part of everyproject immaculately. In spite of all my achievements, I feel that I have nottaken the full advantages of my intellectual capabilities. I now wish to pursuestill more advanced studies and thereby obtain an advanced degree so that I canopen more doors and shoulder greater responsibilities.

I believe I have acquired the necessary theoretical framework andsufficient practical experience for further studies. My ability to teach myselfand conduct independent research allows me to attain competence quickly in areasthat I may at first know very little about. I never work just to finish anassignment, but instead I always try conscientiously to improve my knowledge andexpertise through the work I do. In this fashion, I have become seasoned in suchfields as trunking system (telecommunications) and CMIS system (software). Thisquality should help me as I seek to further upgrade my education, particularlyif I have ready access to the seasoned guidance of a strong faculty and theconvenience of state-of-the-art research facilities.

The University of Idaho is well known for its excellence in the E. E field, complete with an accomplished faculty and modern research resources. Theseshould set a good stage for me to exercise my keen mental power and diligence. If I am accepted, I am confident that I can make quick progress in the E. Efield, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence, image processing, wireless communication, neural network and computer networking, which have manycharacteristics in common and share many important principles. Due to the broadapplications of these technologies, I believe the progress we make in theseareas will help shape the future of the mankind. I would like t be at theforefront of such progress.

As I am broadly grounded in EE and computer science, you may find mequalified or more qualified for advanced studies in areas other than those Ihave mentioned. If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me knowany suggestions that you may have.

I wish to assure you that I have the necessary English language skills tocomplete advanced studies in your Ph. D. program. I generally read or writeEnglish without any difficulty. I have, over the years, not only read academicor professional materials in English avidly but also memorized the wholeEnglish-Chinese dictionary. There may be room for improvement in my oral Englishand English listening comprehension. But I am sure my English proficiency issufficient for me to undertake advanced studies and research. Besides, I believeI can improve my oral English by leaps and bounds once I start to live in anEnglish-speaking environment. All that I need to do is to set my mind free.

I plan to return to China after the completion of my Ph. D. studies eitherto teach at one of the larger Chinese universities or to lead a high-techcorporation.

Dear x,

The success that a person can achieve in his or her career depends largelyupon the extent that he or she is emotionally attached to the career that he orshe is pursuing. As far as I am concerned, I believe that I am in fullpossession of the necessary and potential qualities for achieving success in mycareer because the first day that I was exposed to tourism, I became enamored ofthis fascinating profession. In undertaking tourism as a profession, I have beenexposed to a pluralistic cultural value. In return, I can expose the rest of theworld to the ancient civilization of Chinese culture. In other words, I havebeen able to broaden my vision and horizon on one hand and impart my knowledgeof Chinese culture to foreign tourists who come to savor the fascinating Chineseculture. For me, tourism serves as a bridge that connects both China and therest of the world, linking the past history with contemporary culture. This isexactly the underlying reason behind my intense love of tourism.

As a practitioner of tourism business in China, a major country of touristattraction, I have always been very proud of the tremendous potential of China’stourism industry. According to the prediction made by the 14th Conference ofWorld Tourism Organization held in Oct. 20xx, China’s tourism will experience amajor phase of rapid development within two decades and by 20xx China willbecome a country of the largest tourist influx. Vice versa, the number ofChinese citizens who visit foreign countries will reach one billion annually, ranking No. 4 in the world. What’s more, China has formally joined the WTO andthe Olympic Games will be held in x within six years. All those factors willcontribute significantly to the rapid, yet sustained growth of Chinese tourismindustry. In order for China to become a leading country of tourism within 20years, it is imperative that China’s tourism-oriented hotel industry developinto a mainstay business. In this process, to learn from advanced and successfulsystems and experiences of hotel industry in the world becomes an indispensablestep. It is my expectation that I make my own contributions to this process inmy chosen field. This constitutes the most direct motive behind my presentdecision to apply for a Master’s program in the specialty of Hotel & TourismManagement from your esteemed university.

Compared with a multitude of other applicants, I believe that my greatestcompetitive edge lies in my academic training and in my ample practicalexperience in the related fields. My undergraduate career was spent in xInstitute, often regarded as the university of tourism of China. It is the mostprestigious university in China which is specifically designed to train futureprofessionals for China’s tourism industry who are equipped with both foreignlanguage competence and specialized knowledge of tourism. On account of thisspecial characteristic of my university, I not only did excellent coursework inmy proper specialty—Russian Language—but also benefited importantly from acomprehensive tourism-oriented curriculum that included such specialized coursesas General Introduction to Tourism, Geography for Tourism, and ProfessionalTourist Guide. Taking into account the practical nature of tourism, I took partin a considerable amount of extracurricular activities of fieldwork andinternships. I left my footprints in virtually all the major hotels and touristresorts of x by working as hotel receptionists and serving as tourist guide. Bythe time I completed my four-year undergraduate program, I not only masteredRussian language with high proficiency but also achieved all the necessaryqualifications for becoming a professional tourism personnel.

For approximately three years since my graduation, I have been working as atourist guide for international travelers, a career which has further enabled meto accumulate much practical experience and expertise. Working at the EuropeanDepartment of x, the largest travel agency in China, I have been faced withconstant challenges. First of all, I have further enriched my professionalknowledge and refined my proficiency in foreign languages, both of which areessential for undertaking foreign-related tourism. Apart from using my knowledgeof Russian language and relevant knowledge of tourism with much facility, I havemade extra efforts to perfect my English language. Over the past two years, Ihave constantly improved my English language capacity from passing the TOEFLtest with a satisfactory score (the test was taken at the end of myundergraduate program) to the present level of independently and perfectlyproviding tourist guide in English. In addition, I have also developed theability to prepare all the work plans and documents in English with muchfacility. Finally, within the past three years, I have received countlessinternational tourists and dealt with a large number of emergency situations. Those experiences have not only trained my ability of organization andcoordination, the ability to live and work independently, but also provided mewith important opportunities to demonstrate my professional qualities as awell-trained and excellent tourist guide. All those qualities andqualifications, I believe, will prove vitally important to me in achievingsuccess in my future academic program and professional career.

Nevertheless, in my practical work experience, I have become acutely awarethat, although China has made considerable development in its tourism and hotelbusiness over the past decade, yet compared with advanced countries and regionsin the world, China lags significantly behind them in terms of the level ofinformation and network development, the efficiency of management, theeffectiveness of decision-making and, ultimately, the level of profitability. xconstitutes one of the most renowned bases of top-level hotels in the world, full of creative and original concepts of hotel, tourism and cuisine service andmanagement. In the same way, the College of x of x University is ranked amongthe top institutions of high education in hotel management in Asia. Designatedas its international headquarters and secretariat by the x, the College hasbeen accepted by the International Tourism Organization as the network memberfor hotel and tourism education.

本科入学时需要向学校递交高中毕业证、会考成绩单及其公证双认证;

“All I know about leadership I learned from …….” What items could a personuse to describe leadership qualities?

Inspired by the student council advisors at my high school.

Student council was a big part of my life in high school. I have participatedin it since my frst year of high school. When I frst joined,I was quiet,na?ve,and unwilling to participate in many activities. I was scared to meet new peopleand afraid to apply myself. This all began to change. Half way through my frstyear in student council, one of the advisors can up to me and asked why I didnot participate that much. I did not have an answer for her and did not know howto respond. After this,I began to think of an answer. I became frustrated anddecided to change. I started to show up at events and had a great time. Irealized I loved this and wanted to start leading these activities. In mysophomore, junior, and now my senior year of high school,I asserted myself andtook on a strong leadership role in student council. I did not fgure out theanswer to why I was so reserved until this year with the help of thisquestion.

When I looked up leadership in the dictionary,it said that it was thecapacity to lead and the act or instance of leading. These are two very broaddefnitions of leadership. Many people have different notions of what this wordactually means. When I was challenged to use different items to describe whatleadership actually is,I thought this was going to be a hard and obnoxioustask. What could I learn from comparing leadership to a stuffed animal or arubber chicken? But when I sat down to come up with a couple of answers,Irealized that leadership could be compared to almost anything a personwants.

All I know about leadership I learned from a calculator. A calculator can addeverything together to come up with the best answer. It can delet e what isunnecessary and only include what is important. It can solve any type ofproblem. These are all important equalities a leader has to have. A leader hasto be able to add all of the ideas together to make the best possible plan.Leaders have to know how to decipher the good and the bad out of an idea. Theyhave to be versatile and know how to deal with different types of issues.

All I know about leadership I learned from a ball. A ball is able to bounceback up after it is dropped. It is round and has no creases. A ball can bethrown back and forth to different people. All of these qualities are alsoleadership qualities. A leader has to be ready for every situation that isthrown at him or her. He or she has to be able to bounce back from any setbacksand never dwell on the past. Leaders have to exhibit many qualities and never beclosed-minded about a situation. A leader must be able to delegate when he orshe cannot get the work done. They have to trust everyone they lead to be ableto “catch the ball” and keep a project rolling.

This activity made me realize that being a leader is so much more than justhaving authority and having the ability to take control of a situation. A leaderhas to be trusting of all the people he or she leads and, leaders must be ableto combine ideas into one encompassing idea. They cannot sit in the backgroundand watch events happen; they have to jump in and be involved. They should notdelegate all their responsibilities away.

Leadership is more than what the dictionary says it is.

I learned through all of this that I have many of these qualities.

I have the ability to solve problems, lead through adversity, and beversatile. From answering this question,I realized that I could leadeffectively, even if my leadership style is different from other individuals. When I joined student council in my frst year of high school,I did not havethese qualities because I was never put into a situation where I had to lead. Iwas too reserved to try. When I tried,I learned that I could succeed in this. Idid not realize until I answered this question about leadership. I was neverable to see that being a leader is not just about taking control of a group andtelling everyone what to do When I was a freshman,I thought leadership wasthis. I did not know that did not have to be forceful and strict. I stereotypeda leader then. Thisis where I went wrong. A leader is about being yourself andnever letting anyone change you. I thought I had to change to be a goodleaderOnly when I expanded my comfort zone did I realize this was not trueItonly took three years and a silly question/game to fgure this out.

Program:Human Resource Management /International Business Management / MediaEnterprises

In this age of information, economic globalization is subjecting the entireworld to an irresistible,all-encompassing and profound transformation. Anysingle nation has the likelihood to exceed the boundaries of its domesticmarket, and its natural and human resources to realize an optimum allocation ofresources on the international level. By now,a pattern of multinationalcompetition has developed and China 's accession into the WTO has provided itwith a rare opportunity to integrate into the international mainstream economiesand to realize its immense development potential. But at the same time China isbound to an important obligation―its solemn promise to abide by all the rulesand regulations of trade as agreed upon by all the WTO member countries. Undersuch circumstances,it is necessary for China to open its market according toprevalent international conventions and practices and bring its mode of economicoperation and management, along with relevant laws and regulations, into aninternational framework until absolute conformity is achieved.

Against such a larger background, the physical and geographical concept ofthe nationality of an enterprise has been virtually eliminated. Theintensification of international competition is bound to create resourceallocation on a global scale. How to implement cross-population andtrans-cultural management system and comprehensively elevate internationalcompetitiveness is a challenging subject that enterprises in developingcountries like China have to face. It is precisely based on this recognitionthat I,now on the verge of completing my undergraduate program, plans to pursuea master's program in management whereby I may study and research on howinternational economy operates and how multinational companies apply theireffective management.

My four-year undergraduate program in Broadcast and Television Journalism atthe Department of Journalism and Information Communication of _ University ofScience and Technology has enabled me to acquire an open mentality, acuteinsights and rich practical experience. I have been the top student of my class, not only because of my consistent No. 1 ranking in terms of academic performancebut also because of my role as major organizer of a number of extracurricularactivities related to journalistic practices. As vice head of our university'sTV station,I produced a great number of special feature programs. I interned ata local newspaper office and at _ Provincial TV Station, winning aprovincial-level award for my journalistic reporting. I was the assistantproducer of a special show about _ Province in a serial program “Across China”by _'s Phoenix Cable TV. Through playing different roles,as a student ofjournalism and working as journalist and TV producer,I have developed animportant academic foundation, effective management skills and interpersonalcommunication. In addition,I have a unique advantage―I have done a seconddegree in English for Science and Technology. Those factors will be importantfor my working toward a more advanced degree program.

As a sophomore,I started my bi-degree program in business administration. Iprized this important opportunity as I discovered that it is the subject inwhich my true interest lies. In this program,I have systematically studied allthe relevant management courses including Human Resource Management,Marketing, and Market Planning. My academic performance in this program is equallysatisfactory. In May 20xx,as one of a few student delegates,I participated inthe Third MBA Development Forum of China held in the City of _ . I helped myadvisor prepare his presentation and I also interviewed leading scholars andexperts on MBA in our country. This experience significantly deepened myunderstanding of management and broadened academic perspectives.

My distinguished academic performance in the first three years has qualifiedme for a direct master's program in journalism in my Alma Mater. However,I amvery clear about my academic interest and my future career objectives. ThereforeI have relinquished the offer in favor of applying for a more advanced educationin management. As a discipline western in origin, management science isundoubtedly a field of study whose teaching and research western universitiesare most good at. Therefore,I am determined to apply for a Master's program TheLondon School of Economics and Political Science, arguably the better of the bestwestern universities in social sciences. Your esteemed university enjoys aunique academic position and an unparalleled academic reputation in the westernworld, with a large number of leading scholars working in their respectivefields. Situated in London where one can witness distinctive culturalparallelism,it will not only teach me the most updated professional knowledgebut also ample sociological understanding of its cultural diversity.

In my proposed study,I will contribute my research talents because I possessexperience of participating in a major research project. For an entire year fromDecember 20xx to December 20xx,as the sole undergraduate of the research group,I took part in the Study of _ City's Specialized Water Management System, whichis part of the country's “863” key scientific and technological research programundertaken by _ Bluewater Science and Technology Company. I performed fieldstudy of the water resources in the _ region of _ City and the wealth ofstatistics that I collected and codified provided valuable reference materialsfor the entire research group. In addition,I proposed thatBOT(Build-Operate-Transfer)could be employed to construct a small-scalewaste-water treatment plant. The most important role I played was thesubstantive research I carried out for the topic on Lake Management System andthe research report that I co-authored. Prof. _X,the leader of the researchgroup, praised me as “demonstrating impressive professional dedication and soundresearch potential, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.”

I have lived a colorful extracurricular life. Learning dancing in mychildhood,I became the leader of the dancing team of our university's arttroupe, and launched traveling performances in neighboring provinces.Representing _ Province,I participated in China 's First National DancingContest for University Students,at which I won the third prize. Moreover,as akey member on the Student Management Committee of our university's library,Iorganized a campus-wide book-reading festival. In 20xx,as one of the fivedelegates of our university,I attended the New Millennium Administrative ElitesTraining Program jointly sponsored by _ Chinese University and _ General Chamberof Commerce. I have been working as a secretary at the International ExchangeDepartment of _ University of Science and Technology where I am responsible forreceiving foreign delegations, offering consultations and arranging lectures andacademic conference. Based on those experiences,I will continue contributing myextracurricular talents.

In this age of increasing specialization,I hope to develop myself into aspecialist on human resource management with the best training from one of theworld's best academic institutes. Therefore, receiving a quality education from will be a vital step to my personal and career development and to thefulfillment of this long-cherished aspiration of mine.

Dear _,

A fourth-year student grounded solidly in the basics of computer science, I am writing in pursuit of graduate studies that I hope can help me acquire cutting-edge expertise in software programming in general and parallel processing in particular.

Intrigued by the power of the computer since high school, I have been trying to stay on top of the computer science by concentrating my undergraduate studies on those subjects that underpin the discipline, particularly mathematics and electronics. To build up my solid knowledge in these subjects, I have taken virtually all the related courses that the university has had to offer. These courses include Algorithm & Data Structure, Mathematical Modeling, Network Theory, Digital Circuit, Discrete Mathematics, and Electric Circuit. With a sophisticated understanding in these areas, I have been well positioned to appreciate the basic theories of computer science and their applications to software development.

Aided by the firm command of the basics, I have found it not only easy but also exciting to study the various subjects covered by my major. As most of my classmates, I took a variety of courses ranging from AI to Computer Network, from AI Programming to Knowledge Engineering, from Pattern Recognition to Software Engineering, and from Database Design to Programming Language Design. But I distinguished myself by my academic record, which places me as one of the very top students in my class. My grades in these course never went below A or B. I have also stood out as one of the few who have taught themselves Real Time System and Computer Graphics.

Armed with sound training in the basic theories and applied technologies, I have been able to move on into deeper and wider areas of computer science. Early in my university life, I began to understand that the modern computer's base, the Turing machine, was reaching its limits in AI. Gradually, I have narrowed down my research interest to parallel & distributive computing, which I understand can significantly boost the performance of personal computers by giving them some of the functions of mainframe computers.

Of all the areas of computer science, parallel processing fascinates me the most. The term first came to me when I read the book Computer Organization & Design: the Hardware/Software Interface as part of my Computer Architecture course. By teaching me how the performance of computers can be improved through pipelining and parallel processing, the book reshaped my thinking in computer science.

My lab experience deepened my understanding of parallel processing. In my third year, I worked on a GIFT project with Dr. Komatsu, chief researcher of IBM Tokyo Research Laboratory and Dr. Koseki, one of Dr. Komatsu's colleagues. The project was to introduce the architecture supports that can allow compilers to derive more parallelism from programs. These architecture supports include three designs, a conditional execution mechanism to execute instructions without normal conditional jump instructions, speculative execution mechanism, and a dynamic memory disambiguation mechanism to execute memory access instructions simultaneously.

As undergraduate students seldom get to be involved in actual research, I took full advantage of the opportunity of working in the lab. I particularly enjoyed the seminars held twice a week as part of the lab work. At these seminars, I engaged in in-depth discussions with Master's students under Dr. Komatsu's seasoned guidance. The lab experience is adding weight and insights to my graduation paper An Improvement of Software pipelining using Loop Transformations. In this paper, I will introduce a translation algorithm using loop interchange and loop skewing. This algorithm can minimize the initiation interval of loop nest to improve the performance of software pipelining.

Through my lab experience and other research, I have developed a long-term professional objective: the advancement of the parallel processing technology. While I have strong faith in this technology, I also know its limitations as it is today. Some sequential algorithms can't be easily translated into fast parallel algorithms and most compilers can only distribute works on one platform. Another unsettled problem is that programming parallel computers is now still a manual work. But even the modern language (like Java, C++) can do some automatic translation work. If a compiler can be developed to translate and distribute work into different platforms, personal computers will be able to work like mainframe computers at a fraction of the mainframes' costs. This will make it possible to connect all the computers in the world and speed up all the processes.

To help take the parallel processing technology beyond what is capable of today, I have to undertake more advanced studies. This, I believe, can only be accomplished in a quality graduate program like yours. I plan to pursue a master's degree with a concentration on paralleling and distributing compilers, operating systems or computer networks, a combination thereof. With the training that goes into such an advanced degree, I think I will be able to take great strides towards fulfilling my professional objective. When I do, I think I will be standing on the cutting-edge of the computer science.

Yours sincerely,

Dear teacher

Hello!

My name is Yu, I'm 18 years old____ Senior three.

At 20_ I took part in the national physics competition of middle school students in autumn of, and won the second prize. So I got to participate_ I'm not qualified. For this, I feel very surprised and honored. After consideration and weighing, I chose your university as my goal. Although facing the unknown results, I was uneasy, but I decided to give it a try.

I am a child through books to accept the Confucian and Taoist culture, I treat people with courtesy, also can be honest and trustworthy, enthusiastic collective. It's just that sometimes people become estranged because of too much etiquette. Sometimes it lacks the courage to stand up. I'm trying to change myself.

In my study, I have been able to rank in the top ten of the class, and my grades are superior in the whole school. However, in front of the college entrance examination, this is not an ideal result. I'm good at science - sometimes I'm the first in my class, but I'm not good at liberal arts. I like to study problems and problems, and I like to ponder things quietly. I am evaluated as “a student who thinks differently from others” by the teacher. I dare not say whether I am excellent or not, but I enjoy the feeling of being different.

In the extracurricular, I have a wide range of interests, in independent research has also been more proud of my achievements. I once spent a year in my spare time to make a game. The work was praised for its ingenuity and creativity, but its popularity was low due to the lack of plot. During the year, the production process was intermittent, and the program idea made me racking my brain, constantly carrying on the psychological struggle between playing games and doing projects. Collect materials, algorithms, audio clips... Every step is very attentive. Many firsts have given me a lot of experience. Then, when it is finally completed, the joy is irreplaceable. I learned one very important thing, that is persistence.

Another part-time experience that benefited me a lot was music score. Because I like a piece of TV music very much, I try to write it as a piano score. I have cet-5 certificate of amateur electronic organ, but it is still not easy. After the bottleneck, I turned to the Internet. However, how many people will help strangers to do this kind of trouble? The answer is zero. So I decided to do it by myself. I didn't expect that after my own efforts, I really wrote it! From this, I learned another important thing, that is, to be self reliant. No one can rely on you. It is meaningful to overcome difficulties by ourselves.

Therefore, it is reasonable to believe that although I can only achieve the upper secondary school grades in the current, I will certainly be able to do my best when I go to the university to study my favorite subjects and yearn for them. At that time, I would choose my own career and devote myself to it. Believe me to do better - and I hope you can believe it.

I think my most important advantage is that I have time - just like everyone else. I still have the opportunity to change myself and complete myself in my four years of University. To fight for it, that's what I'm doing now. I hope your school can give me a chance to realize myself. Looking forward to your approval!

Sincerely

Salute!
