Talk about your favourite animal
Ok, thanks, well, I used to be quite active in school art projects, and I was quite interested in calligraphy, which is a form of Chinese painting for certain characters. In middle school we were encouraged to do as much artwork as we could, mainly because our school needed the decorations to beautify our school. You see, my school wanted to make a name for itself as the best school in the city for arts. So our headmaster really pushed our art teacher to make sure we produced big quantities of high quality artwork. In a funny way, the students who were most highly favoured were those who were most artistic. So, you see, producing art wasn't just for fun, it was fairly serious business; and I, like every other student, took it quite seriously, too. Anyways, we were given a lot of competition-type projects, and I decided to sketch a landscape of the scenery at Shidu, a beautiful area just outside of Beijing that slightly resembles Guilin. My uncle and aunt lived out there--they were farmers--so it was easy for me to spend some time out there.
Well, I did the actual sketch in three days. Many people don't realize that although the strokes in Chinese sketches seem simple, they have to be done with perfect rhythm and flow or otherwise you have to do it again. I did the strokes, and if I wasn't happy I'd simply do the whole sketch again. So, probably I did about nine different drafts, threw away about four of them and compared five of them and chose one.
After I had completed it, I felt a bit on the edge. In my mind, I felt it was quite carefully done, but I had no way of knowing since I knew I was really just a beginner. So, when I submitted it I was full of fear and expectation. My art teacher looked at it quite favourably, but not with incredible excitement. It did not turn out to be the winner, nor was it chosen for the exhibits, but it received quite a good grade, and at least I knew that-although it wasn't fantastic work--it was at least a good start.
Describe an interesting animal.
Topic:
Describe an interesting animal.
You should say:
What animal it is, where it lives (or, you have seen it)
What it looks like,
And explain your feelings about this animal.
Sample answer:
Tibetan antelope is a kind of animal that only lives in China. I first learned it from the geography textbook in secondary school. It said Tibetan antelope is an ancient, endangered and protected animal in China.
The Tibetan antelope looks different from other antelopes. It has stronger body and longer horns(角). The color of the back is brown and the color of other parts is ashen(灰白色的). Just as you can learn from its name, it only lives in the Tibet Plateau(青藏高原). So it is hardly for us to see it personally.
There are only 70~100 thousand Tibetan antelopes living in China. To protect them, Chinese engineers built many extra bridges to bypass their habitat(栖息地) when they were constructing Qinghai-Tibetan Highway. I think the situation of Tibetan antelope is worth our concern. Everything can be done should be done to preserve the precious species. Otherwise it will become the second Panda.
Just as every Chinese person, I like it very much because I think it is the pride of our China.
Fluency &Coherence
Grammatical Range &Accuracy
Vocabulary
Pronunciation

Describe a TV drama series you’ve watched(追过的电视剧)
You should say:
How does it look like
Where did you see it
When did you see it
And how do you feel about this work
2.主题:Power
Okay, so recently I’ve been watching “Power” – a TV series about a guy who comes from a poor neighborhood and makes a lot of money selling drugs – and then he decides that he wants to go legit; he wants to leave his past behind and make a legitimate business with his nightclub Truth. So, the series follows the problems he and his family have to face while trying to get out of the drug business and make a legal living running clubs. Obviously, it’s not as easy as it might sound – because all his old friends still try to involve him in drug trafficking, and there always seems to be some crisis or something which stops the guy from simply making a clean break and starting afresh.
A friend of mine recommended the series; I hadn’t heard of it before, but I gave it a try. Watching a couple of episodes, and I kind of liked it. Each episode has good pacing, and the characters are interesting enough to hold your attention. The plot is also quite well written and has just enough twists and turns to keep you wondering what will happen next. Another thing I like about it is that the things that happen are credible; they’re not fantastically impossible scenarios like in some TV series – you can actually imagine how such circumstances might occur in real life and how these people would deal with them. So, the main characters are a guy called Jaimie and his wife Tasha and their two children, and Jaimie’s ex-drug partner Tommy Egan, who is still involved in the drug business. The other main character is government lawyer, Angela Valdez, who has an affair with Jaimie while the special task force she is a member of is trying to prosecute Jaimie and Tommy for drug related crimes. There are some other characters which recur throughout each episode, people who work in the club and other friends and contacts that appear repeatedly throughout the series.
It’s now in season four, although I haven’t watched this current season yet – I watched up until the end of season three, so I guess I’ll catch up with it when I have some more free time. I like watching the episodes all at once rather than one each week. But it’s one of the best TV series I’ve seen for a while – the fact that the time flies past while watching it is always a good sign that it’s enjoyable.

我们现在讨论的不是如何摧毁这个系统,不过当你奔赴雅思“战场”的时候,do you want to dominate the battlefield or do you want to be dominated?
Describe a teacher who has greatly influenced you(人物题),Describe an object you use everyday(物品题),Describe a shop you often go to(地点题),Describe a family event(事件题)。 以a washing machine为例,我们能想到的内容可能是颜色,Its color is white. 大小,It’s one meter high. The reason why I chose this color is that it matches well with my bathroom and besides, white has always been my favorite color. It’s clean. You know. It is actually the smallest size at that time. I put it in the corner, and it takes only a little space.
How has technology changed people’s life? Well, technology did change our life a lot. Take my family as an example, ten years ago, we used electric fan in hot summer but now the air-conditioning brings us more comfort.
(The new standard of plastic bags)的制定和执行;亦可转换成工作问题,讲“劳工法”(The Labor Law)。
1. Do you like eating fruits?
Definitely, I am especially fond of eating fruits due to the large variety attainable and low cost of purchase. At the supermarket, there are a huge range of fruits available, from watermelons to oranges, making them convenient to buy. Additionally, after eating fruits, I feel refreshed and energized, which enables me to become healthier.
be fond of是like的同义转换。
2. How often do you eat fruits?
I eat fruits every day and attempt to reach the daily recommended amount set by nutritionists. In particular, based on my age and gender, it is advised that I have two to three servings of fruits on a daily basis. As a result, I try to eat a serving of fruit to accompany each meal throughout the day.
I eat fruit every day.
3. What kind of fruit do you like best? Why?
My favorite fruit is the strawberry due to its luscious taste and ability to be eaten with a multitude of foods. When I sink my teeth into a juicy strawberry, it is delightful because some are sour and others are sweet. Furthermore, strawberries are excellent additions to cakes, milkshakes and all sorts of desserts, making their applications endless.
解析:这段话的亮点在于“When I sink my teeth into a juicy strawberry, it is delightful because some are sour and others are sweet.”
4. What are the benefits of eating more fruits?
There are a range of nutritional benefits associated with eating fruits such as the vitamins and minerals obtained from them. Moreover, they are low in calories and help to reduce the risk of countless diseases, including heart disease, high blood pressure and cancer. They also add fiber to the diet, which helps to keep the digestive system healthy and efficient.
What’s your favorite vegetable or fruit?
I enjoy eating all kinds of fruit like plain fruit, tropical fruit or berries. But if you ask me, I think apples should be on the top of my list. I’ve been eating them since I was little because my mom always says that one apple a day can keep the doctor away and it’s essential for a teenager to keep a balanced healthy diet. I don’t know but it’s quite juicy and I enjoy the flavor especially when they are sweet.
How often do you eat vegetables?
I do have them on a daily basis because I suppose it’s quite a healthy habit and I can benefit a lot form them like necessary vitamins and keeping me energetic. I also have a sweet tooth so tomatoes with sugar is absolutely my cup of tea. I eat them almost every day in summer.
更高阶一点的表达可以是constantly, frequently, occasionally,from time to time, rarely等。 比如every day,当然更好的表达是 on a daily/weekly basis!还有比如,once a week, twice a month, three times a year等等。
Do you think people should eat more fruit and vegetables?
There is no doubt. They are essential for our bodies and beneficial for our health because there are a great source of vitamins and natural sugars. Eating fruits gives people a great deal of high quality nutrition.
I read a report,Only around one in three people in the UK sticks to the five-a-day governmenttarget. Now a team at Imperial College London has drawn conclusions from 95 studies involving two million people.
The scientists say that although the five-a-day message doesn’t need to change, eating ten portions could prevent close to eight million premature deaths each year around the world. They also believe that products like spinach, yellow peppers andcauliflower lower the risks of cancer, while apples, citrus fruits and broccoli, for example, cut the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
Public Health England says the five-a-day target is an achievable way to prevent a number of diseases, and that adding pressure to consume more creates anunrealistic expectation.
so I agree, eat more vegetables and fruit。
1.You look good/very well/nice/great/terrific/fresh-complexioned
2.You have a good color/high color
Do you like eating fruits?
Do you often eat fruits?
keep a healthy diet
比如:often, usually, occasionally, seldom, 或者用on a daily / weekly / monthly basis等表示频率的相关词组。
Yes, I do love eating fruits, and basically I eat fruits on a daily basis. The main reason of cultivating this habit is that I value my health more than anything else. Therefore, I can’t live a day without fruits.
I just do not have the habit of eating fruits.
I can’t stand the smell / taste of _.
What’s your favorite fruit?
What kind of fruit did you like to eat when you were a kid?
Are there any special fruits in your hometown?
apricot 杏子;arbutus 杨梅;blueberry 蓝梅;plum 李子;carambola 杨桃; coconut 椰子;cherry 樱桃;citrus 柑橘;cantaloupe 哈密瓜;durian 榴莲;haw 山楂;lychee 荔枝;pitaya 火龙果;kiwi 猕猴桃;
Personally speaking, among all the fruits, I love kiwi the most. The most decisive reason is that the mixed flavor of sweet and sour tasted from the flesh of the kiwi is appealing to me, not to mention the rich nutrition it provides.
Do you think people should eat more fruits?
What are the benefits of eating fresh fruits?
1. digest food 消化食物;
2. absorb nutrition 吸收营养;
3. contain substantial amount of vitamin E and C /antioxidant / mineral富含大量的维他命E和C / 抗氧化剂 / 矿物质;
4. Help me lose weight / improve my immune system
Yes. The trend of having a healthy diet is flourishing in China currently. Basically, there are two main reasons. Firstly, having fruits on a regular basis helps people digest food and absorb various nutrition. Secondly, fruit contains substantial amount of vitamins and minerals, which are beneficial for the immune system.
What’s your favourite vegetable and fruit?
How often do you eat fruits?3. Are there any special fruits in your hometown? 4. Should we eat vegetables every day?
My top three favourite fruits and vegetables are broccoli, celery and grapes because all of them are both nutritious and delicious. Also, I want to give mushrooms an honourable mention as they are one of my favourite things to cook with, although they are a fungus.
I eat fruit at home on a daily basis. I always buy a lot of different types of fruit in the shopping mall at the weekends for my whole family.
Oh yes, there are loquat trees everywhere in my hometown. Loquat is very sweet and has lots of nutrition and is actually medicinal too.
Yes, we do. We really need to eat vegetables everyday because you simply cannot find another food group that is as perfectly matched to our everyday human needs. There are various proteins, fibre and vitamin that cannot be found in other foods such as meat.
The name of my faourite movie is 'Casablanca' which was directed by Michael Curtiz. It was released in 1943 and the story was adopted from a stage-play named 'Everybody comes to Ricks'. The movie starred Humphery Bogart & Ingrid Bergman and was made in USA. It was a romantic drama film and the story-line was set during the World War II.
It focuses on a man torn between love & virtue. In 1941 American expatriot Rick who professed to be neutral by all means met his former lover Ilsa in his nightclub & gambling den. She was accompanied by her husband, Laszlo, a renowned fugitive Czech Resistance Leader. They needed a letter to escape to America, where he can continue his work against Nazis. German Major came to Casablanca to see that Laszlo does not succeed. One night Ilsa confronted Rich in the deserted cafe and asked for the letter. She threatened him with a gun for the letter and later on confessed that she still loves him. Rick's bitterness dissolved learning that IIsa was married to Laszlo before even their relationship began. When Rick and IIsa planned to flew together, she could not do so because all of a sudden she found that her husband was still alive and needed her badly to recover. Hearing the story Rick calmed down and agreed to give the letter to Laszlo so that he can fly to America safely. They would take a different path to fly away together. But finally Rick let IIsa and Laszlo fly to America which surprised IIsa very much.
In 1989, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry a being deemed 'Culturally', 'Historically' and 'Aesthetically' significant. It is the 2nd best movie of all time based on AFI's 100 best movies of all time.
I've seen the movie more than 2-3 times. The story is excellent, the casting, plot, acting, dialogues and all other aspects of the movie is superb. The movie deeply touched me and became the most favourite movie I have ever seen.

Where do you usually watch TV programs/shows? [Why?/Why not?]
Well basically, I usually watch TV at home because I hardly do that if I do not have a longer period of time than, say like, a few hours and for me, I spend most of my free time at home. I am quite a home person.
What’s your favorite TV programs/show? [Why?]
CCTV’s Daily News is my all-time favorite which I always watch with my parents and even my grandparents sometimes. We Chinese people have been nurtured with a habit of watching the daily news at 19:00 after supper when the whole family spends the coming half an hour getting to know how great the achievement has been made by our motherland and how miserable lives foreigners are having. This is almost a piece of behavior art but certainly in an authoritarian way. Love it.
My favorite TV program is The Roast, which I cannot fully express my passion about it but I sometimes feel like concealing this hobby. This show is basically about a bunch of celebrities separately cursing the victim of the night in succession. The language they use really opens up my vision to the great potential of human language. I have never imagined such malice dwelling in our language. Literally a culture shock.
Are there any programs/shows you don’t like watching? [Why?/Why not?]
Of course. I’ll take the Daily News brought by CCTV as an example. It occupies half an hour of a night, from 19:00 to 19:30, which should have been used for more interesting shows especially when many people have only such a short time for leisure after a day’s work. But still, we Chinese people are haunted by the boasting news about our great motherland. What propaganda.
Sure, The Roast is kind of painful to watch. The dirty talk coming out from celebrities gets dumped on a victim of the night with nobody caring the slightest about how he or she and the more general public feel about it. Just a bunch of lunatics coming together for a modern freak show. Alas.
Do you think you will watch more TV or fewer TV programs/shows in the future? [Why?/Why not?]
Yes. I think watching TV really broadens my horizon. So many places that I cannot see for myself and stories that I can never hear about are presented in TV programs in a well-designed way. Even better, as a person of few hobbies, I can afford the time to watch TV as much as I like.
No. Since I am a student relentlessly preparing for some serious examinations, I cannot indulge myself in such enjoyment and entertainment. Though it is relaxing to sit in the sofa with nothing in my mind but a pack of fried chips in my hand, I still have a bigger and more rewarding plan for the time.
E.g. absolutely yes, especially, i'm a big fan of shepherd dog which looks elegant and obedient. Actually, i keep a shepherd as a pet who I call handsome. It's not only a pet, an animal, but also a loyal companion.
actually, not really. I mean i like to watch animals like tigers or lions in a zoo or appreciate a leopard moving elegantly on TV programs like wildlife documentaries. But it seems that it's the last thing for me to raise a dog or a cat as a pet as i have an issue of hair phobia. I even daren't touch the fur of animals, not even a cute bunny. I don't know why but i just can't make it....
I hardly travel by air as i have aerophobia.
I have problems socializing with people, especially with strangers probably coz i'm a person who suffers from social phobia...

Topic:Describe a time you were close to a wild animal.
You should say :
what animal it was
where you saw it what happened
when you saw it
and explain how do people in your country feel about this animal.
Sample answer:
The south China tiger is one of the endangered and rather precious species of carnivores in China. It is well acknowledged that they are as valuable as the pandas, due to their only presence in China all over the world.
The reason why people call them the south China tiger is because they live in south of China. Most of them were living in the mountains and forests in Hunan,Fujian,Guangdong,Henan and Shanxi Province. Technically, you could find them in the forest land and wild area where wild boar, buffalo and many kinds of deer were abundant. However, from 1950s,people began to hunt them, which caused huge declining.
Although the government set laws to protect them, the illegal hunting was continued. So,now I'm very sad to tell you that many experts believed that south China tiger has been extinct in the wild area.
There are only about 100 south China tigers living in several zoos and breed base places. All of them are feeding by people, which is a tragedy coz they are wild animals. But we don't have other choice,we have to protect them, they are going to die out.
In the past time, many animal photographers are devoted in taking photos of south China tigers. Thanks to them,we now have many valuable pictures when they were living in the wild area.

1. What is your major?
I major in Business Administration. And I fin business is a fascinating world to explore. I am studying hard and hopefully one day I'll become a successful businessman.
2. Do you like your major and why?
Yes, of course. I like mymajor primarily because Iam very much into computerscience. Since young I'vealways been fascinated bythe stories of future technology, robots and super-computers. Secondly, IT is a huge market with wide profit margins. It has created a new generation of billionaires. It is promising major that is bound to bring me a good career in the future. That is precisely why I like my major.
Not really. Actually I didn't choose this major for myself. My parents chose it for me. In addition, I find all the subjects I have to study for this major very boring. I don't think I can learn much from them.
3. What courses/subjects do you study?
There is a wide range of courses I study. Some are compulsory while others are optional. The two major compulsory courses are College English, including intensive reading, extensive reading, speaking etc., and College Math, including calculus, probability and statistics and so on. In addition, I also have chosen to study Art History and Psychology, which can all enrich my understanding of human mind itself and the great works of human mind.
4. What is your favorite course/subject?
My favorite course/subject is _X, because, number one, it is very interesting. Number two, it is not very difficult to study. Number three, it is also very useful.
5. What is the most useful subject/course?
I think English is most useful subject. Because today communication plays such an important role is people's lives, especially when the world is becoming a global village, where English is the primary spoken language. And thus good training in spoken English gives a person a competitive edge and more opportunities than those who can't speak it. It is really a hard question. Though I don't think all subjects are useful, yet I do think most of them can be useful in different ways and in different times of life. Nonetheless, I think communication skills are essential for one's social and academic life; since English has become the lingua franca in global communication, I would say English, as far as I'm concerned, is the most useful subject.
(Communication is the main word in this text),因此,使交流顺利进行10-15分钟 (to keep the communication going)才是至上之策。
