when and where you went;

and explain why you think it was enjoyable.

Talking about the enjoyable experience I had in the countryside, I think the childhood experience that I went to my grandparents’ house which is located in a small village in the north of China is a one. I remembered that my mother would take me to visit my grandparents every few years and the visit usually happened in summer holidays. The house had a big yard. And there was a brook behind the house. My grandparents kept two dogs in the big yard. They are adorable. My grandma planted two apple trees. The green apples were always on the tree when I went there every summer. I always begged my grandma to pick them for me to have a taste even if she told me that they would taste badly. I often dropped the apple after one bite. But my grandma was never angry with that. After supper, my grandpa took me to the brook behind the house. He said we could catch a big fish before the moon came out. However, we didn’t catch any fish at all.

The experiences were valuable and wonderful. They are of great importance in my life. Especially after my grandparents passed away, I have no opportunity to go back to the village any more. The memories kept the temperature of my grandparents’ love, and I cherish them very much.

Okay. Let me tell you about my experience last summer when we visited my grandparents in a village in Shandong Province.

My grandparents’ village is by the Huang He River. In the first 2 days there, everything was still fresh, the woods, the water, the lotus leaves, the pond, the cattle, the fields and the cicada hunting. And then boredom started to haunt me. It was hot and there was no air conditioner and few entertainments were available.

One summer afternoon, my cousin Daniel and I were wandering along the river bank wondering what to do to kill this boring summer afternoon. All of a sudden, Daniel got an idea. He told me we should have a competition, which took me by surprise. In that heat and in that kingdom of boredom, what competition could we have, to see who could survive longer standing in the burning sun without drinking any water? He proceeded by explaining that we should each dig a piece of mud, make it into a shape of a bowl, cast it onto the ground upside down and then see whose bowl make the biggest sound. It sounded stupid in the beginning and failed to intrigue me. But when Daniel jumped into the river and did as he explained, I decided to try. It honestly felt awesome to have hands and feet inside the cool mud and water. And the explosion of the mud bowl miraculous excited me.

Though I have been born and raised in a metropolitan city, I visited my grandfather’s house many times and that’s a beautiful village that I have ever seen. This village is in the north part of the country and falls under the …. (…Say a division or state or country name…). This village is situated beside the (…say a river name...) and has more than 10 thousand inhabitants.

I went there in my childhood with my parents and the latest visit was in the last January with my mother. This village is almost 125 kilometers away from the place we currently live in. First we took a train to reach the station of the district/state/ country where my grandfather’s village is and from the station we took a taxi to reach the river port of our village. There we took a boat and finally we walked 1-2 kilometers to reach the village.

My grandfather has passed away few years back and my grandmother, 2 of my uncles 2 aunts and their children still live in this village. Apart from our family members, the farmers and workers who work for my uncles, live there.

This is in my opinion is the most beautiful village I have ever been to. My forefather lived there and my father spent his childhood and teenage there. So in terms of bonding, this is a very important place for me. My grandmother and some of the cousins are very fond of me and I mostly meet them in whenever I go there. So in terms of my relation to my origin and relatives, this is the village I admire most.

Besides that, this is a very beautiful village that seems like a painting by a famous painter. The environment is calm and pollution free, the green fields, fresh air and hygienic foods offer a very attractive reason for being there. The flowing river, the forest, the simple live and my relatives are the min things I love about this village.

There are very few things that I dislike about this village and the village itself has nothing to do about it. Like the education facility and treatment facility of this village is very poor and primitive. That’s something bothers me a lot.

Your ability to talk about this Cue Card would enable you to talk about the following Cue Cards as well:

Describe a place you often go to.

Describe a naturally beautiful place.

Describe a relative’s house you have visited.

Describe a place where you went with your parents.

Describe a place you like to visit.

You should say?

When did you have this experience?

Where did you have this experience?

Who were with you?

What did you do?

And explain how you felt about it 你感受如何?

The enjoyable experience I am going to tell you happened when I was 12 years old. Then a new amusement park opened at Ji’nan, the capital of my province. Ever since I saw its advertisement on the television, I had been harassing my father to go there. Eventually he yielded and promised to take me there on weekends.

We set out very early in the morning on Sunday that week, since the park was a little far away, which took an hour’s drive. At the arrival, I was astonished by the variety of entertainment facilities. Some of them were beyond my imagination and had not even appeared on the television. We tried Pirate Ship Ride, which swung back and forth, subjecting me to various levels of angular momentum, bumper cars, which we drove to crash each other, and the Mega Drop, which fell from a height of 15 meters. But my favorite was the roller coaster. It was designed to follow an elevated railroad track with tight turns, steep slopes, and inversions. There was an almost vertical slope and the coaster would stop for a moment at the edge of it in order to elicit your fear. My heart was literally pumping at my throat.

Describe an interesting experience during your childhood.

You should say:

When it happened;

What happened;

Who you were with;

and explain how you felt about it.

I must say that I have a wonderful childhood. All memories of my childhood are warm and sweet. As for an interesting experience, I want to say something about shaving. You may wonder that as a girl, why do I say “shaving”? Well, it happened when I was 4 years old. I noticed that my papa shaving everyday in the morning. I don’t have a clear idea of what he did. But obviously, I showed great curiosity about his manual shaver.

One day afternoon, my mother was taking a nap, I sneaked into the bathroom and carried a stool there to fetch my father’s shaver. Then I followed my father’s steps, I put foam on my face and began to shave my “beard” on my chin. Then I suddenly felt there was something wrong with the process, I touched some blood although I didn’t feel any hurt at all. Finally I was so scared and began to burst out crying. My mama rushed into the bathroom and saw what happened. She grabbed the shaver and helped me clean the wound on the chin. In the following days, she told very family visitor about the details of my story. I remembered that I was laughed at for a long time and I even began to hide myself in my room.

I felt it was interesting and I realized the fact that my mother and all visitors made fun of my behaviour is well meant. They liked my innocence and my poor mockery. They thought I was adorable and good at observing. Apart from that, I think the best way for children to explore the world is to experience. The experiences could involve observations, imitations, imaginations and so forth. They may hurt themselves. But hurting is a sort of valuable experience in everyone’s life. So, you see, I began to know that only my father needs to shave his beard at my home. I have better recognition of gender and according distinctions.

You should say:

What is it

When did it happen

Why you remember it

One of the sweetest memories of my childhood was the first time I learned to ride a bicycle and I was tremendously glad to have the experience. My elder brother helped me ride a bicycle and he was very careful about it. Honestly, without his help, I would not have learned it. This candidate task card looks very interesting and I will explain the event now. I would also like to thank you to let me the opportunity to talk about it.

I was about six or seven, I cannot exactly remember the age. But it was not the age for a girl to learn to ride a bicycle. I just crossed my elementary grades when I learned to ride a bicycle. My older brother shared everything with me and I was his passenger on the newly received bicycle from his birthday. He was a teen but rode on bicycles like an adult.

After riding for a couple of days behind my brother, I wanted to learn to ride it myself. My brother, Jim, did not hesitate to teach me the riding. Initially, he explained how bicycle worked and took me to take the rider seat. I fell on the ground several times and Jim instructed me to keep the balance. In the first phase, Jim used to control the bicycle from behind so that I do not fall on the ground and gradually I improved in riding the bicycle. Later, Jim allowed me to ride the bicycle alone.

It was a nice experience to me. I know how to ride a bicycle and even I can drive a car now. Jim is my instructor in this case too. In fact, as an older brother, Jim cared for me too much and helped me greatly in learning the riding and driving. So, I am grateful to him. If he would not take the initiatives in my childhood, I would not have become a driver in a true sense.

You should say:

when and where the incident you remember happened

who you were with

what happened exactly

and explain why it is a happy memory.

范文:

I grew up very far from most of my family so I only saw them once a year. Every summer I would go to stay with them, while my parents continued working. Although I missed my parents, I used to really enjoy spending time with my grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. I spent all summer there, nearly two whole months, so from time to time my cousins and I would get bored. We would ask my grandparents if they had any ideas for interesting things we could do. Sometimes they suggested going for a bike ride, sometimes into town to do some shopping. At other times, they showed us a new game to play. Then we were happy again.

One day it must be about 30 years ago (doesn't time fly!) - all of us got really, really bored and we kept complaining to my grandparents. They were tearing their hair out, trying to think up ideas of where we could go and what we could do. Suddenly, my granddad came up with the idea of going to a new water park that had opened that summer. I hadn't heard about it but my cousins had, and they told me all about it. It was a park with vast numbers of different pools, some inside, some outside. There were water slides as well. And, on top of there was not one, but two playgrounds with swings, a merry-go-round, see-saws. We were so excited.

We set off and on the way we were all singing songs and laughing. We couldn't wait to get there. When we arrived, my cousins and I ran into the park and changed into our swimming costumes. Then we went looking for the most exciting-looking pool, and we found it, one with brightly coloured tiles and slides, we jumped straight in. We played all day in the park and had a lovely lunch, sat on some benches in the sunshine.

My granddad loved a pool that was filled with spa water. It was dark brown and stank of rotten eggs. I didn't want to go in but he eventually convinced me. I'm pleased he did because the water was really warm. I'd never swam in water that warm. I didn't want to get out, despite the terrible smell.

I consider it such a happy memory because we enjoyed ourselves so much and I remember so vividly how I felt that day. But there's more to it than just that. When I look back now, I understand how caring my grandparents were and how much they wanted us all to be happy. They would have done anything to help us have a good time. I appreciate that more now that I'm older and have children of my own. I hope we thanked them; I can't remember. But, anyway, they were content, I'm sure, to just watch us have an amazing time, playing and laughing in the water. So, as you can see, it was a wonderful day and is one of my favourite childhood memories.

The environmental problem is getting more serious.

There has been a rapid increase of farmers moving to the cities.

2.评价

...play a important role in our lives.

Friendship is something we all take seriously.

By and large, Chinese people are very respectful of the elderly.

On the whole, Chinese students receive a good education in the basics.

By and large和On the whole都是很好的过渡词。

It seems to me (that)…

What I reckon is…

I’d like to point out that...

In my opinoin, there are three way of looking at it. First of all...

I can come up with three reasons for the...

I have every intention of...

If I am not successful , that is, if something goes wrong, I think I will probably...

I feel inclined to...

I don‘t know if I will, but I might be able to...

也可以是比较简单的I am planning on...

I felt so happy that I could jump for joy.

I felt like I was in heaven.

It impressed me deeply.

I felt so happy that I could jump for joy. 或是It make me...

The first thing you should do/need to do is to plug it in.

The first step is to get the ingredients prepared.

After that, you should press the button.

The last thing you need to do is turn off the stove.

I don’t think I’ve seen anything I like better.

…is a marvelous way of spending a day off.

There’s nothing I enjoy more than…

I‘m very keen on...

I’m very keen on pop music这样的例句。

因为像是My favorite sport is...

There is no words to express how much I like it.

It has many features.

It is red colored with a steep roof.

It’s a 3 room apartment, and it’s about 80 square meters.

I can still remember the time when I passed my entrance examinations.

I will never forget when I first when to ....

Once, when I was a college student, I went on a trip which I will never forget.

I can still remember sth或是I will never forget when I...

Cambridge 5 Test 2 Section3 Question 24

Listening to British students’

Language because of:

normal speed

large amount of ……………………

与此相同修饰不可数名词的还有:plenty of ; a great deal of ; a sum of

而修饰可数名词的有:a number of; many;

Cambridge 4 Test 4 Questions 24 and 26

Q24: to show how……………grow

Q26: to teach children about how …………….. is made up

NOW TURN TO SECTION ONE时,才能打开听力试卷。

Cambridge5 Test4 Question 21

Problems: been affected by drop in…………..

NO MORE THAN THREE WORDS,但最容易出错的情况是NO MORE THAN ONE WORD AND /OR A NUMBER。

Write ONE WORD AND /OR A NUMBER for each answer.

题目:

Date of birth: …………………..

原文:the twenty-seventh of the first of 1973

Cambridge 5 Test 4 Question 11

The next meeting of the soccer club will be in the ………..in King’s Park on 2 July.

很多考生会用到一些语句,比如说well; it’s a good question.

1. Who is your favourite celebrity in China?

Off the top of my head, I guess I would have to say it’s Jack Ma. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of him, but he’s the founder of Alibaba, and one of the most successful businessmen in the country. And I basically admire him for everything that he’s achieved, especially as I think he had to deal with a lot of rejection early on in his career. So yeah, I’d say he’s probably my favourite celebrity here in China.

2. Would you want to be a celebrity in the future?

I don’t know actually, because obviously it would be nice to be adored everywhere you go, and have lots of VIP treatment travelling around the world. That would be quite nice! But I think there would be a lot of downsides as well, for example lack of privacy, the paparazzi. So I think all things considered, I probably wouldn’t want to be a celebrity.

3. Do you like reading about celebrities?

Yeah I do, but it also depends on the content, because I mean, pointless stuff about what they get up toin their private life doesn’t really interest me that much. But what does interest me is reading about how they became good at what they do, because I think there’s a lot that can be learnt from them.

4. Have you ever met a celebrity?

Um… I don’t actually think I have. It would be nice to, but up to now I can’t say that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting any! I mean, I’ve been to a few pop concerts and seen some famous singers perform, but I don’t think really counts, as I’ve never actually met a celebrity up close or shaken their hand or anything.

5. Do you think we should protect famous people’s privacy?

Yeah, without a doubt, cos I think privacy is something that everyone should have, regardless of who they are. So just because someone’s famous, I don’t think that gives us the right to go intruding into their private life!

6. How do celebrities influence their fans in China?

I’m not really that sure to be honest with you – I’ve never really thought about it! But I suppose one aspect could be the clothes they wear, you know, that’s probably likely to influence their fans choice of clothes to some extent. And uh... what else? Um.. oh yeah, I guess their general behavior may also have some kind of influence on their fans. So for example, if a celebrity conducts himself well, then it’s probably gonna rub off on his fans and have a positive effect on them, and vice versa.
