I’d like to tell you about a well known actor who is very funny, his name is Rowan Atkinson, he’s proably best known worldwide for his funny character Mr Bean. I first saw him in a movie on DVD and I thought he was really hilarious.

I hadn’t seen it for years but my friend found the old DVD and we decided to watch it.

That’s probably the most obvous way people maybe try to copy someone they like. They buy similar clothes or shoes or maybe even do their hair in the same style. Maybe people like to copy them because they feel that they identify with the actor or a particular character.

What forms of entertainment are most popular in your country?

All different kinds, TV, music, live events, computer games. It probably depends on where you live, how old you are and what things you like to do in your free time. When I was at school I used to play a lot of computer games and listen to music and watch TV. Now I’m older I go out more and listen to live music and watch more DVDs. I guess the most popular for the majority of peope would be TV, watching movies, either at the cinema or on DVD, and going out to parties or to a restaurant with friends.

Do you think men and women have different tastes in entertainment?

Sometimes maybe, but not always. My girlfriends and I like different movies from men and our idea of a good night out is probably less exciting than some of my male friends would like, but then there are lots of things that men and women like doing for entertainment that are the same. Comedy is a good example. Most comedians are funny for both men and women. If you like eating out in a nice restaurant then usually it’s the same for men and women also. But there are definitely some things like music and books which are quite different for men and women.

For example, my younger sister spends hours chatting to her frinds and even peope she doen’t really know on the internet. She loves it. Ok right then, well the actor that I’ve decided to talk about is Zhou Xingchi, who, I think it’s fair to say, is one of the most famous and popular comedians in China.

You know, I’ve watched his films ever since I was a child, which I’m sure could also be said for the majority of people my age in China. And the reason is simply that he’s just so incredibly funny. I mean, whenever I watch his films, I can’t stop myself from laughing. And I’m not sure if you’ve watched any of his films before or not, but I guess you could compare him to Jim Carrey, in the sense that they can pull really funny faces. And that’s probably what sets him apart from most other comedians in China. You know, he’s got such an array of different facial expressions! Anyway, as for what kind of person he is,

well I don’t know him personally of course, but the impression I get of him is that he’s a very down-to-earth guy. So you know I mean, although he’s, like, super famous and mega rich, he seems to carry himself in a very unassuming manner. For example, in the interviews I’ve seen of him, he comes across as being a very modest and likeable guy, which can’t be said for a lot of celebrities you see on TV these days!

So yeah, that’s pretty much all there is to say really, and if you haven’t seen any of his films before, then you should definitely watch one.

I’m going to talk about a musician that I admire, called... He’s a singer who also plays the guitar and writes his own songs. I think he recorded his first album about 10 years ago, and he’s released several other CDs since then.

He became successful after many years of writing songs and performing live in small venues all over the country. Gradually he built a following of people who liked his music. I think the key to his success was one of his songs that was used on a TV advertisement. This meant that more people became aware of his music.

I found out about... because one of my friends got tickets to see him in concert. I hadn’t heard any of his music before, but I went along to the gig and really enjoyed it. After that I bought the first CD, and now I’ve got all of them.

The reason I admire... is that he has worked hard for his success: it takes years of practice to become a good singer and guitarist, and he spent several years playing to very small audiences before he became successful. Indeed. As you probably can tell, these days fans, anti-fans and even non-fans are so curious about what their bias are doing. Some are aggressive that they mentally attack their bias by leaving bad comments online. Some even approach them in person on the street, especially the so-called paparazzi. Thus I strongly agree that there should be some regulations to protect the celebrities’ privacy.

5. How do celebrities influence their fans in your country?

I think the influence of celebrities on fans is extensive. It’s somehow natural to follow our bias and try to be like them. At the first place it could probably be just physical changes like clothing, hairstyle or makeup. However thanks to social network, fans and idols are much closer now, sometimes it’s just a status away. However this mental connection is a two-edged sword, meaning the idols actually need to be more careful about their lifestyle or their manners.

I find him to be a very high-class actor and a superb person with his tremendous activity in social welfare works. All these reasons make him to my favourite actor.

从生理角度来讲，我们从外界获得信息主要通过视觉和听觉，学习英语口语是信息输入(input)和输出(output)的过程。其中，信息输入是基础，所以我们就先来谈一下英语的听力练习。

我自己的经验是每天早睡早起，起床之后，趁着大脑还处于空白状态的时候，赶紧进行信息的输入，练听力，这个时候听进去的东西记得牢，不容易遗忘。为了不让刚刚苏醒的大脑再次进入睡眠状态，一定要增加外部的刺激—跑步，不仅益于健康，全天都会精神饱满，而且使得学习更有效率。

关于听力的材料，有点建议给大家，现在网上的听说材料比比皆是，但针对口语学习的材料，推荐给大家Friends，So you think you can dance…。。听惯了VOA或BBC的同学在和外国友人交流的时候肯定会有体会，两者之间的音调明显不同，相比之下前者更接近外国人日常生活当中对话，而用VOA和BBC的语调与外国人对话就和一个学中文的外国人与我们交谈像在播放新闻联播是一样的效果，一个词 weird。

除了听力外，不要忘了，我们天生还有一项更加不可以浪费掉的功能---视觉。

用在英语学习中也就是阅读。读东西是必要的，而且是口语学习中不可缺少的部分，不管是简单的26个字母，还是复杂的单词句型，我们都是一点一滴通过读和看，慢慢地输入我们的记忆并最终深深地在大脑打上烙印。所谓“巧妇难为无米之炊”，这些是我们开口说英语的资本，没有它们，即使再有语言天赋的人，最后所能拥有的都永远只能是天赋而已。

写得多你才说得顺!

乍一想，写东西好像并不怎么关系到英语口语的学习，这样想你就错了。

其实在日常的口语应用当中，尤其是雅思口语考试当中，因为雅思口语考试的评分是通过fluency，vocabulary，Grammar，Pronunciation来评判的，其中Vocabulary和Grammar相当程度上是通过大量的写作来加强的，因为写是一个缓慢的输出过程，通过这种方式我们可以有足够的时间来思考使用的词汇和改正语法方面的错误，大量重复的练习可以增强你对词汇和语法使用的熟练度，因为口语考察的不是你会不会的问题，而是你表现出来的用英语交流的水平，也就是你使用语言熟练的程度。

除此以外，因为雅思口语考试中面对的是人而不是机器，这样除了英语本身之外，你用英语与人交流沟通的能力更是考察的重点。我们在说英语的时候，经常遇到的情况就是说话没有逻辑性，有的时候甚至自己都不知道讲到哪里去了，弄得雅思考官一头雾水，难怪会有一些考完试以后感觉自我良好，成绩出来以后感觉不可思议的现象发生。平时大量的写作练习在这方面就可以真正发挥作用了，写东西的时候我们更有时间去预先构思自己想要表达的东西，相对来说表达的意思和思路就比较清晰，有逻辑性。长时间的写作练习有助于培养出清晰的思维习惯，从而在英语口语考试当中发挥出效应。

最后一点，也是雅思口语学习中最重要的一个环节，还是要归结为一个字---说。

道理不用多讲，口语再怎么学习，没有开口说这个环节，肯定不会成功。而且对于雅思口语的评分标准来说，Fluency 和 Pronunciation 这两项是一定要通过大量的口头练习才能提高的。Fluency 提高可以从大声朗读开始，还是那句话：一定要坚持。读的时候用你的Mp3录下来，对照材料的原版录音揪发音，看发音有什么不对的地方，模仿原版发音改正过来，每天都反复练，你会看到效果。

雅思口语考试有一些范围相对固定的话题。如果你考试在即，没有太多时间一点一滴从基础开始的话，建议拿来一本教材，先从书上的话题开始。在这里给大家推荐两本非常好的雅思考试的备考教材《雅思考试口语突破》第五代和《就是要你过雅思口语6.5》。拿到教材先看里面的话题，尽量不要去看书上的答案，把自己想的答案写出来，然后和书上的答案进行对比，如果有觉得书上答案好的地方可以摘下来融入自己的答案里面，一定不要一字不落地死背教材上的答案。这样，每天练习3、4个话题，长期坚持下来会对你应对雅思口语考试有很大的帮助。
